Waiting two to three years is actually healthy and a good foundation to work with. The best part is when you are not looking and they find you.

Funny how they always try the open marriage and living in separate houses thing while the cheating had been going on for a long while. Mine tried this angle too. Sucks to be her it didn't work.

Only communicate with her about the kids, nothing else, that part of you listening and talking to her died with the divorce. Most of them regret the divorce as time goes by and try to circle back, don't be that guy.

A lot of men are stupid. They will do it a 3rd time, before they learn.

My friends and family did care, heck they helped me through it. But it all comes down to the relationship you have with people over time.

The friendship is so they don't feel guilty for what they did. Never entertain that. Let her go and cut her out of your life. You will thank yourself in a few years from now for doing so. They always try to circle back into your life, don't be that guy.

Don't do it out of revenge? Protect your peace and mental health. He will come to regret this but the bond will never be the same again. Get yourself back together and live a good life.

Don't be sorry, my comment wasn't to attack you, it was to make you truly aware of what your dad and most men go through during and after divorce. It's not easy coming to a place like this as a young woman and telling us about your dad. Read some of the comments here, learn from it and be understanding towards your dad. It's summer, take that old guy out for an ice cream :).

I'm also pretty sure the new guy is a man enough to provide for them both. She should hold him to the same higher standards she's trying to impose on you.

You did the right thing. If its about the well being of the kids. You as a dad are equally capable of getting them whatever they need and being there for them. Never feel sorry for her and don't try to save her either because you will regret it, I promise you. Stick to your new routine, be kind to her but never save her. Only guys who learn the hard way do after getting run over a few times. She gave up all her privileges when the papers were signed. From a divorce dad who has almost fully recov…

Same here, an old colleague told me they always come back, but a wise man never allows them back into his life again. The only time you show up is when sickness shows it's ugly head and that's when you get involved because no matter how old the kids are, she's still their mom and they are going to need you as a dad to step up. Our loyalty as men is equally our downfall. Most of them will never do that for us. At our core we men are good people.

Your intentions may be genuine with this post, but it's not a laughing matter. A lot of men delete themselves after losing everything and sometimes access to their kids with some new guy living in the house they worked hard for. I hope you take your dad's grief seriously. Divorce puts some men in a very dark place.

I can't really stress this enough! Regardless of whatever happens, if you take care of you, with your health being the most critical part of all of this, you will come out better than you were in that relationship. Write your own history. When you are jaded and bitter life punishes you and for the love of god, become the kind of a dad your kids look forward to seeing or can't wait to see you. Some men stay bitter for years, what a wasted time and opportunity. There are over 4 billion women, they…

Some of us men found happiness, peace and continue to thrive while having fantastic relationship with our kids. The best part is that we choose who enters our lives. Good for him to be best friends with his ex wife. Wishing him all the best.

You got lucky. Enjoy that peace and never ever move them in. Them moving into your home is the beginning of your demise. I got to keep the house too but I have kids and have to occasionally interact with her. I do it via email or text. Never call her and I never pick up her phone calls. It's a blessing. Sometimes you wonder whether the years you spent with them was real. Time will humble them either way. There's no escape in that regard. Become a man truly at peace within. That's the blueprint.

The anger is very natural, just don't do anything stupid with it. Don't try to suppress it either, you have to go through this. Eventually you will get over the anger, but as people in our situation before us always said, use that anger to save yourself. Head out and run like a mad man, hit the gym, do very longs walks, you don't need a destination, do any type of sports that makes you sweat. Clear your head and slowly prepare for your new reality. You feel used and disposed, but when you start to move on and work on you. Life becomes awesome. You become the captain in your life again. Make the second chance count and never sign a contract again no matter how good she is or makes you feel. Sadly most men remarry and end up paying again before they learn.

Loneliness and solitude are two different things. The former is kinda dangerous. Learn to enjoy your own company, be comfortable with being by yourself and your world changes. I enjoy my peace, women notice this and try to get close. I choose to keep them at a distance. Don't force it, it's a process. Take your time. I will never roll the dice again, my assets are mine and for my kids when I'm gone. Above all I have no desire to date. The peace is way too addicting.

He will learn. His next therapy session might take 8 years. I wish him all the best. Most guys don't understand that solitude is not lonely, it recalibrates your mind and who you ultimately become.

Just don't be the guy that thinks 10 years later he's met his Soul mate and she checks all the boxes. Do that and you will end up deeply regretting it while messing up with everything you built that should go to your kids long after you are gone. Date at some point should you choose to but never ever let them move in.
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 08:43 PM

Give it time. Rebuild slowly and discover who you are again. In 3-5 years you will be in great shape in all aspects of your life. There's no self-pity here or poor bad you. Follow the process and come out swinging. Also never ever sign a legal document ever again. You will never properly recover from a second divorce. Don't ever do it.
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 11:43 AM

It's reality. Saw this with my dad too. Took a while for him to get back to where he was, when he laughed you could hear it came from his soul. That was great to see. Things didn't turned out well for my mom. Happiness was shortlived.
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 11:38 AM

The men who recover are the ones society hates. Because they never married again and are content with who they eventually become. Peace is priceless.

Reading this brings back memories. Her parents were always surprised how I worked and kept the house clean. Good luck with your life man, it's going to be amazing. Don't even entertain the idea that you miss her. I went for 50/50 and got it.

Great post. Do the work guys, do not allow that person in you to die because of divorce. Become him.

Took me about 6-7 months. Due to 50/50 I see her once a week and she's just someone I used to live with. & I rarely interact with her. She tries to talk to me but I give a yes or no and move along. I got my life together pretty fast and life is peaceful. When you move on, they tend to wonder what could have been. Enjoy your peace gentlemen. Having said all that, there are days that a memory would sneak up on me, I usually smile or stay calm, then I move on.

I flirt with them when I go out, but never take it beyond flirting. Reason being I love going back to my home alone in peace and I don't like to lose money and will never sign a legal document ever again unless I'm transferring assets to my kids. Hehehe

They know deep down when they destroy a good thing. My ex was telling me. She should have told me how good I was when we were together. I shut that shit down and went to pick up my kids. 50/50 here too and I want nothing to do with her. I love my life way too much to have these so called boss babes anywhere near me. As long as you remain rational and keep it at the back of your head that there's an end date to all of this. It really doesn't matter how good she is, there's always an end date. Accept that and you become a free man and a very dangerous one at that. The idea that once you sign a contract, she and both the government are holding a gun to your head. One in front and one at the back. Just imagine that. Happy New year and all the best to you guys going through tough times. I promise you it gets bet…

Yep. Pretty much this. It only worked in the 70s and early 80s. Anyone who remarries in this day and age is stupid. The only thing you miss is the sex and there are ways to get it without binding yourself and assets to another person and the government. There's no way in hell I'm giving up half of my assets again. It's for my kids when I'm finally gone.

Just accept the fact that as time goes by, you will often wonder whether what you had was real. It comes and goes and one day you just accept it and move on. It was all real to you but not to her, because she always had the Idea that she could dispose of you whenever she wants and was never 💯 committed as you were.

Kids just arrived a few hours ago. We had a blast. There's not much you can do when they are with your ex. I keep myself busy and I'm doing great. I kept all my friends after the divorce but there's also something I realized during the relationship which was my subconscious or my gut feeling that told me to avoid mutual friends at all cost. Looking back it helped me. My kids are doing well but that also has to do with my general attitude towards life. I'm here for them and will always show up.

Draw some valuable lessons from this. The next legal relationship you get into will put you in a state you will never recover from. You can have so much fun and have your own place without letting them move in. Now is the time to reevaluate your life. Get in shape if you haven't. Sort out the finances and build your peace. It's a process and if you follow through with it you will eventually get the call. It always starts with a text message, don't answer, then an email, don't answer, eventually …

Even that can be thrown out of court by a misguided judge or a feminist judge. You win by not playing. Until the laws are changed to hold the I'm not happy crowd accountable, don't risk your life in an endeavor that you ultimately lose even if you do all the right things. Young men, don't get your life destroyed. Have an agreement where you look after the kid but never live with her. Only your mom loves you.. sometimes.

They seem to never learn, having a ho phase in their late 30s early 40s only to come to the realization nobody wants to commit or be in a serious relationship with them. They talk about wanting a deeper connection with a man but they have no clue what that actually means.

Don't put divorce on your profile. If you have kids, put a single dad of xxxx. Or you are single. That's it, if they are interested, you can tell them more later. How do I know this? From the women I know and it works. Also don't throw your life out there to someone you just started chatting with. Too much information. You are naive, your daughters will come to resent you for not fighting for them, stop the excuses you are making for yourself and have a backbone. You are giving up on them. Most men have been through worse and still came up on top because we didn't make excuses. Stop running away from your responsibilities. You deserve 50/50 and you will get it only if you are willing to show your daughters you have a backbone.

Every man pays, let that be a valuable lesson. Learn from it, find your tribe and you will arrive. Don't hide your pain live it until you are in a place where she becomes a distant memory. Most women never stay with the men who help them. She now thinks she's better than you, but time is your greatest asset. Use that time well, it's a second chance at life. Not correct, we are far better at controlling our emotions and that's why we suffer the most. Men suffer in silence. While she's thinking about the next guy, we are thinking about the future, the wellbeing of the kids, where to stay, etc, heck we even do the stupidest thing like still caring about them after being discarded like trash because that's how we are wired. We need to learn to care less so it wouldn't lead to our ultimate demise.

It's kind of funny but most of the people I know who got divorced and were left with nothing ended up meeting better women and having a peaceful life. It may not happen to me, I don't know but I'm at peace and that's all that matters. Eventually I will get to a 100% place where she doesn't even trigger me anymore nor do I even care about what became of her. You have to build a new life for yourself. Things that you should concern yourself with are doctors appointments, school meetings that you both need to attend, emergencies etc and of course birthdays if you want to celebrate that together. That's what I do. I also don't allow her into my house, boundaries saved me, it kills them to see you thrive and you should for the sake of yourself and your kids. Besides the kids birthdays, I do nothing with her. People often say yeah do it for the kids, which I find completely nonsense, it benefits her and her talking points especially if she cheated, it's like your castrator asking you if you'd love to join her for a cup of coffee. The last few Christmases have been great, kids and I decide what we are going to do and have a good time without one person making it about them.

I came to the conclusion that she hated me for being a happy person, always showing up, having a stressful job and still being able to cook, clean and take care of my kids, including bringing them to their activities. The marriage rarely survives when the divorce friends are in her orbit. The divorce friends will always win, and that is not your fault, that's just how things are, she's in solidarity with them and will crash her marriage for them.

The divorced friends thing is real. Most men don't pay attention to this. Never allow her anywhere near you after divorce. I barely acknowledge her even if I have to drop stuff off for my kids at her place. She was always a piece of shit. But she hid it well and her girlfriends were all in on her betrayal. They all deserve each other. I lost my dad too and in my darkest moment, the most important thing for her was going to see a friend

I understand this perfectly well. But I still think there are some really good ones out there. I'm always learning from women and especially from those in my own family. The women that choose us are the ones that we need to take good care of and we should not put ourselves in situations where we lose half our assets.

Plan your exit with the kids and do it quickly. What I later discovered from my counseling after quitting was, she had planned it so she could tell everyone she did what she could to save the relationship while cheating in the process. She was pissed that her plan didn't work. They are that sneaky and we barely know what's going on because we are too busy making sure everyone is alright and the bills are being paid. Mine didn't like the counselor for agreeing with me. Good luck man, you got this…

You will feel stupid and continue to feel stupid. Don't pay for the crimes of others. If she pins that kid on you you are in for 18 years and you will never recover, your own kids will hate you for being stupid. Don't be the better man, have a backbone and save yourself and your kids. This woman will never respect you and the crap she's putting your kids through. Plan your exit and make sure you go 50/50 or full custody. Also don't be emotional around her. Imagine going to the house you bought together to find another man living there with your kids. Of course only a man with no morals would do that to his fellow man. I feel for my brothers going through this. Stay strong, live well and never get into this shady contract again. I too got out but I live to tell and warn others not to do it. A man with scares is a man who has been through hell and still shows up every day.

Yeah I did. The answer was usually nothing. That lead to more questions like how can you not think about anything. Which I counter with me not thinking about anything is how I get my eureka moments. Ie even when I play videogames which she had issues with, I don't think about anything I just play. The calmness always bothered her. I did most of the work around the house and took care of the kids, yet also and still have a demanding job. I even explained to her countless times, whenever I'm quiet…

We always think we are the problem and we somehow convince ourselves there's no one, she's just not interested. How wrong we all are. I slept in a separate bedroom with back pains for a year in my own home, as soon as the divorce proceedings kicked in, he appeared. There was a time that I questioned whether something was wrong with me. No one deserves that. It does something to your self esteem. Very painful experience. Oh well life is good and peaceful these days.

It's kind of funny we don't go out burning cities and taking brides with us. Looking back I find it hilarious the kind of rage that men could possess when we've been cheated on. I will never get married again! I will also never be the other guy. No man deserves that and there are always kids involved. I've learned to vet them that they know their cheating ways won't work with me. Being the other guy to me is having morals and not breaking up families. Besides it never fails, they will cheat on you too. They go from host to host, extracting resources, leaving devastation behind. See them for exactly what they are and you will have found peace.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/25 12:58 AM

Not venting is going to hurt him later, better to let it all out now and slowly move on. We've all been there. Heck I was doing it in my car, even lost my voice back then. There's a reason why you shouldn't force young boys to sit down and be quiet when they are running around, they get hurt but learn. Anyway hit the gym and punch some bags. You will be fine with time.

Women are all over the place and to be honest, they are all amazing in the beginning, it's insidious by nature and today's modern times. Have your priorities, boundaries and if you can, do not get entangled in anything legal that would eventually take away assets that belong to you and your kids. It's always been about resource extraction. Life has given you a second chance, make the best of it for you and your kids. By all means continue to date and have a great time, but always protect yoursel…

Don't give her the friendship, it has no benefit to you. They crave this friendship because it benefits them and allows them to justify their behaviour. The new guy with time will always find out what she did to you. They know exactly what they are doing until they don't need you. Never give them that opportunity twice. Marriage is also a friendship, she destroyed that and now wants to be friends. Mental gymnastics at its finest.

She's rewriting the story, never change who you are. Continue on your path and be careful next time around. Also never take her back, they don't come back because they love you, they come back to what you can provide until they have another guy lined up. The men who take them back never recover.

There's a thread over at r/Askwomenover30 with the topic if you are married to a man child. A lot of women there are planning to divorce their men and being encouraged by other women to do so. The advice comes down to knowthyself. You just got out of a relationship, you really don't know what you want yet, you can never truly know yourself unless you are comfortable being alone. She could be the best for you but this is not the right time, she's not getting the best of you no matter how you spin this. Let her go before you end up hurting her. My two cents.

Took me a while to understand it and why men do it. The ladies of the night understand men and are some of the best therapists out there. A FWB will eventually turn into one wanting more, happens all the time, so you either commit or someone gets hurt in the process which was not the intention from the get go. Feelings will always come and understandably so. But hey you'd never know until you give it a try.

Just yesterday I was arguing with a woman on the emotional intelligence sub. She's been going on dates for 11 years, sleeping with multiple men and she's 34. At some point a simp somewhere is fucked because he wouldn't know about her past until he's fully in. She will then divorce him and take half of his assets. Men should never get married, not even to the good ones because you will pay.

Man, go work on you, this is very important. In a few years you will come across her and you will be glad you worked on yourself. You have all the cards, how you play the game is up to you. Do not allow your dreams to die. Live well. Time is your most valuable asset.

Keep talking to women and you will find out there's a guy in their lives, they are always dishonest about it. I don't blame the guy she cheated with, he may have known or maybe not but she willingly opened the door for him. Let them celebrate their best lives and keep moving forward with your own.

It doesn't stop the divorce. When she decides to leave she will and there's nothing you can do when the streets are calling. Best is to make sure you come out of it with a few bruises.
/r/Divorce_Men25/08/25 11:50 AM

You don't do all that to win them back. You do it for you, your future and what life throws at you. It's about you and how to go from there. Men should never revisit past relationships.
/r/Divorce_Men25/08/25 07:15 AM

Keep your self respect, dignity and honor intact. Ignore that call my friend. That relationship will crash. Continue working on yourself is all I'm going to say. Men should always look at the long game.

Keep your emotions in check. Plan accordingly and you will come out of this having a great future with your kids. Do the divorce quickly and look for a new job after that. Build a life for you and your kids and bro, don't ever get married or move in with a woman again. The price you pay isn't worth it, too risky.
/r/Divorce_Men23/08/25 04:51 AM

That's right about the relationship with the kids. Funny how every vacation is fun with no issues. Yet she comes to complain each time she goes on vacation with them. Oh well, not my problem.
/r/Divorce_Men22/08/25 02:52 PM

Again are there any signs that his kid is in danger? If so then he needs to call the authorities but that's not what he describes. Sure any parent will be concerned when there's another partner, but it doesn't seem like the kid is in danger and trying to act now will make him look pretty bad.

What she does with her life here has nothing to do with you, I know it's harsh but that's the reality that you need to accept. As long as your daughter is not in danger, stay in your lane, be a good dad and let nature do it's work and it always does when you stay in your lane and live your life.

I had about 5-6 sessions. Accepted I was partially to blame but I wasn't her therapist and I also realized I showed up way too much in the relationship, forgot about me and taking care of myself. I learned to be selfish and never ever compromise in a relationship with women. I also specifically went to a male therapist. That was a game changer.

/r/Divorce_Men20/08/25 07:32 PM

Don't let her sexual activities get to you. Play the long game and relax. Don't even entertain those who tell you she did this or that. It's all about you and moving on to better things. Don't ever get married again. The market is full of single women and you get to have fun, never commit or give them leverage. I wouldn't have even let her crash at my place. My ex asked to crash at my place once, I said no. I think she went back to her place. Not that I care. The house is mine.

Do you blame them for not wanting to get into a legal contract that benefits one party who breaks it based on "I'm not happy emotions or I love you but I'm not in love with you" as if it's a Disney movie? They have seen their dads, uncles, friends and family members all getting destroyed.

One of the most painful things I suffered during the divorce was seeing my kids half of the time. The material stuff, money and everything else could be replaced with time, but seeing my kids half of the time and not knowing what they are up to hurts or hearing them running around the house. Time didn't really heal that part and it sucks.

I think we were all like guy number 3 at some point during and after the divorce. Men really need friends, we should not suffer in silence. Most of the men I know, myself included refused to give up. We may have been blindsided and they thought they had crashed us, but that is far from the truth, they always win in the first few months or three years, but time was always on our side. Always gentleman, time is your currency, use it wisely. Guy 3s kids. I feel for them, knowing they will never get…

I learned by not playing their game. They have some dark traits that work on guys especially those in their early 30s by saying a real man provides etc. Fall for it and you will be ruined, becoming a shell of who you were and finding yourself again takes years. Don't play their games. Choose peace. Don't allow yourself to be manipulated while the guy outside gets it for free and can do whatever he wants with her while you are the guy that breaks his back to pay for her lifestyle.

It's got nothing to do with the red pill. Be a decent human being, help others where you can, just do not allow those with bad intentions into your life. You are disposable and that's exactly what has happened to you. Nothing wrong with protecting yourself, mental health and peace. You will be more careful in your future relationship and not go into it being naive. That's Red pill.

The word narcissist gets thrown around way too much. My ex cheated on me as soon as she started hanging out with divorce friends and colleagues. Move on and build a better life for yourself and protect yourself from single moms. This is happening way too much where good men and children are being destroyed by some of these women. Next time she runs into you a few years down the line it will hit her like a brick. That new relationship won't last anyway.

They usually find you at the finish line, what you do with them is up to you. An experienced divorce man has lived through pain and moves through life differently. Some men unfortunately learn after the second or third burn how tragic and what a wasted life and loss of time.

You didn't really lose anything tbh. You have your daughter, your house and business, with a bit of creativity and hard work, you will make that money back within two years. Just don't ever marry again, it's very risky and you will do damage to your kid. Date, enjoy life and stay healthy. Also put that money in a trust or get a solid financial advice to close the loops.

It's not even the assets that they take from us, it's the broken heart and betrayal. Most of us never really get over it even in a new relationship. There's a reason why some men delete themselves after divorce. We are not wired like you , women immediately get all the support because society often portrays them as victims( even if there's no abuse involved) I hope I worded that correctly.

How can you be a 40 plus woman and still trying to figure things out? There's also the 38+ stating they want children? That means a three year relationship so kids at 41 or 42? Just don't live with them. Some or most can pretend for a long time until they move in. And when they do you will most likely end up losing all or half of your assets and you would spend years trying to understand the why.. Doing this saves you from 85-90% of all the red flags. Don't move them in and you will be safe. Your house should be for you and your kids after divorce.

/r/Divorce_Men19/07/24 04:27 AM

You are also a simp. You already made the lives of two kids very complicated because you acted like an 18 year old and one kid hasn't even been born yet. Having a son you only see two days a week with another one on the way whom you may or may not see is a huge cluster fuck. Go and handle your affairs in an adult way and do not have any more kids. Come on bro, the guy is not responsible for her happiness. Her happiness is also not more important than the happiness of the family unit. Yet they nuke their families because it's all about them without thinking about the consequences for husband and kids.

I said things to her after what she did to me and my kids, things I regret saying because I was angry. Overtime I've learned to stay calm, not react and even ignore things that are clearly being said and done by her to get a reaction out of me. Gave me peace by just staying calm. Thank you for sharing.

Let them ban this place too and eventually they will be competing with OF and Pornhub. Another platform will appear to fill the void.

As soon as you get a new job and start earning more, she will file for divorce and you will be on the hook. Plan your life carefully from here. The more you give in to her demands the more she's going to push you for more.

I go by the same rules. Helped me and has served me well. The only friend I introduced to her chose her side because my ex was useful to her and she was also divorced.

Just be honest with her, telling them where you stand also gives them room to make their own decisions. You will come out feeling better that you did.

Wild? There's a reason why you should never bring a baby cub into your home. Only a few women go into relationships with good intentions. A very few and when you get lucky take good care of her.

You are going to age very fast and lose out on a lot of great opportunities ahead of you if you don't get off that loneliness . We always recommend the gym for a reason and other activities like going out to meet people, joining a group, finding things that click with you. It takes time for us to heal but boy when we put in the work, we become unstoppable.

It all boils down to men sticking together, which sadly we don't. I see guys telling a clear 3 she's a 7 or an 8 just to smash, making them think they are actually that hot or of a higher value when it's clearly not the case.

We have two kids, it's 50/50. I recovered financially and I'm doing ok. Kids are doing well at school. Emotionally I'm still not there, it might take a few years, but such is life. I avoid dating and just working on myself.

She was with me, and hated me. For years I tried to get her to find out why she hated him, the only answer I got was he's not emotional and did not help with career choices. The advice she got was do what makes you happy.

Most people especially women know how to hide, I was with one and never saw the signs until I discovered how much she hated her dad, the guy is still married to her mom, who put her through expensive universities and still shows up to fix things in her house.

So basically you are in a good place, have two amazing kids who will inherit all you have built, why on earth are you f**king their future up? I have two myself and no way in hell am I going to have what I leave behind be split amongst multiple people. Prenup and all that stuff won't help. Date single women with no kids, plenty of them. Also get a snip.

By all means go ahead and marry, move her in and allow the ex husband to have his peace. She's reeling you in slowly and succeeding it seems. Billions of women with no kids and you are going for a stay at home mom with 3 kids. Jesus Christ dude. Don't do this, is your life worth anything to you? Please protect yourself. You've worked hard for the life you have and you are willingly going to throw it all away and for what?

My divorce taught me a lot about some of them. Read the sub askwomenover30 sometimes, not only are they absolutely insane, but the ones nobody wants, encourage those in healthier relationships to divorce their husbands, destroying families. The day they actually take accountability for their actions will put the human race on Jupiter.

Don't get married, don't move them in should you even date in the future. The moment they suggest let's move in together, bail and never look back.

When she says she wants security after the chat, run run and never look back. This is the modern age, don't sign a contract with her and the government. You can always find another lady. Men suffer in silence! If you mean leave silently, then that's what most of us have done during the divorce. This sub however is the few outlets men have to share their grief, what they have been through, advice and build each other up. This is a good place for men.

When you see it happening to family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, people around you and sometimes your own father, why would any young man join such a union? It's out right fatal for a man. Op, don't give up! It's a process.

There's no magic door. You the guy have time, they run out of time and want to settle to have the good things. Women wait at the finish line, not at the beginning of the line while you were struggling to build yourself up in all aspects of your life. You also need to vet them or they clean you up in your mid 40s with the help of the state. Men should protect themselves and their assets.
