My anxiety works in a way that I’m overly concerned with health over everything. It emboldens me to say, “run me those test results” if I get any inkling someone wants to do the sex. Their reaction is a great way to find out what kind of person they are. Timing matters on whether or not you feel you’ll be having sex with them. So, any time is the right time. Do not be timid, for this is your life. It’s always appropriate with a romantic partner.

Couldn’t a therapist be the one who “watches out for you”? Not as family but as a designated person to help you vet and realize red flags, I think it would be ideal. Depending on how much you trust them, I mean. You’d have to have a good relationship with the therapist though. To ward off potential abusers, you could imply the counselor is your person to whom they’d have to answer to. There might less of an inclination for a crap weaseled stick around. *I don’t mean to say potential person would…
