Wikipedia don't seem to have definitive reasons for TMJ at all. Where did you get the information that chewing hard food (or any of the above activities in the list) can cause TMJ? Actually you might be not entirely correct. As far as I know, in any country, failing to report a crime (especially a violent crime) is a criminal act in itself. You are not allowed to intervene, because you might be putting yourself in danger by trying to neutralize a criminal, but it is your citizen duty to report any crime.
