We can support victims AND not violate the presumption of innocence. We support the victim without shaming them, without assuming they are a liar. We triage, a non life threatening surgery may be scheduled a few weeks out, then on the day of a car accident happens and the surgeon deals with that and not you, so it gets pushed a couple weeks again. The victim can take emergency leave from work and receive unemployment insurance for medical leave, can go to the hospital to be treated, be referred to a therapist and it won't cost them anything. And all that costs less in taxes than what the US pays, and we don't have insurance premiums ontop of it.
