I honestly believe if everyone were aware of this distinction, most gender issues would dissapear and simply become social problems. Domestic violence isn't something a man does to a woman, its something an asshole does. Rape/sexual assult isn't something a man does to a woman, its something an asshole does. Both genders have assholes.

In the UK that is still the case. IANAL I believe in the US it is possible for a woman to rape a man, but that only includes penitration by foreign objects, not 'forced to penetrate' which is covered by sexual assult.

The problem is feminists hear that message and take it to mean: Establish bias in universties to accept less qulified women over men. Woman are more likely to be accepted to a university than an equally qualified man in all STEM fields (except economics, which isn't even a part of stem really.)

ehh Chemical manufacturing is actually one of the least erroded (pun notg intended) sectors of manufacturing in develouped countries. It often requires relatively high skilled workers and technical equipment. It can also be more expensive to import/export due to regulations or storage concerns.

Actually I don't think many people 'want' women to work more dangerous jobs. People want people to REALISE men work more dangerous jobs, and accept that as (one of the many) reasons for the raw 'gender pay gap'. People also want efforts to be made to reduce the danger in these jobs, rather than simply not caring because males are seen as disposable.

I volunteer for a hotline which covers several things but including domestic violence. The 'staff' is 90% female. Thats not an exaggeration. I don't know if its deliberate or if its in line with the ratio of applicants. Luckily this organisation is great though, we have gender neutral advertising and the training specifically covered the anti-male biases some people might have. On a 100% unrelated note, its also really easy to hook up at our parties.

I think thats a slightly unfair assessment of motives. People have VERY strong biases, and DV being a gendered issue is perpertuated everywhere. I'm not suprised that people resort to denial when they first here it. I know that when I first saw these kinds of figures I was super sceptical because for my whole life I had been told DV was something a man does to a woman.

Its like feminism has realised there arn't actually any problems left, so in order to stay relevent they have to start getting offended by smaller and smaller things. Well it mentions Ellen Pao as a prime example. I think its pretty much established at this point that she is a feminist. Anyone who supports this is dumb because its not even good for firms. If it were they wouldn't negotiate at all. It only works if everyone stops negotiating and doesn't start again, which is completely unsustainable.

This is why you should be VERY careful when manipulating the labor market, particularly in the case of assumed discrimination I honestly believe Economics is the greatest weapon against misleading feminism bullshit. Being able to isolate what causes the 'discrimination' then actually fighting it is going to help everyone.

I'm pretty indifferent towards these kinds of things. The song is pretty politically incorrect, but I don't think MORE political correctness will solver men's rights issues. A big issue I have with feminism is how bogged down in stupid petty stuff they get (SEE SHIRTGATE). I would prefer to be part of a MRM that doesn't do that.
