The fantasy thing is a little weak if I’m being honest. In my experience women don’t really fantasize like we do, they’re more in the moment than we are. The best sex I’ve ever had didn’t have any fantasy attachment at all it was just raw and primal sex. I can’t tell you which way to go because I failed at this twice. Having now been single for a while I can honestly say I preferred being married. I say that knowing full well that both times were an unsustainable nightmares. I don’t have another…

I’ve been where you are. I’m sorry it’s come to this. There is a lot of life after divorce, I promise!

Any amount of time is too long once you’ve reached the point of no reconciliation. The best thing you can do is self work. Get into the gym, hydrate. Read, and study something (history, a new language, math), purge your belongings (you have way too much stuff for one person) throw yourself at a hobby that’s not drinking. The goal is to come out of this better than you went into it.

Good on you! There’s no better diet than a divorce! There’s a lot of life after this! I promise!

What you’re experiencing sucks. The uncertainty, the anger and the weight of this process are all very real. But they’re also very temporary. Life is better after all of this I promise. You don’t have to figure it all out right now—you just have to navigate it the best you can. There’s a lot of life left after this. Stay strong and know that the storm ends.

I don’t expect to live very long.

Absolutely not. I just don’t believe in it anymore. I’d also never want to have a child I couldn’t see into adulthood.

Yes, I’m twice divorced, and I simply just don’t believe in it anymore. I gave more than I had to give, and while not perfect, I didn’t deserve to be treated the way I was treated by my exes, my community, and the legal system. Unfortunately, Santa Claus isn’t real. I can make my own peace, happiness and well-being.

I loved being married. It was the lying, cheating and stealing I couldn’t stand!

Thank you! Therapy was part of it for sure. I also joined a group focused on helping men quit. The gym was monumental for my recovery. I agree! Now every orgasm is my best orgasm.

I was in that world for longer than I care the recall. I’m four years out now. Quitting was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

It’s toxic to the mind, a thief of intimacy in relationships and detrimental to virility!

You can set it up through a third party property management group. This removes you for the most part, to keep everyone honest.

I’ve never been on that side of alimony myself and can’t speak directly to your situation. That having been said I don’t believe in alimony, I think divorces should be the end of it. At the end of the day you need to do what’s right for you regardless of what’s right for anyone else involved in this. I know this is a new concept for us as divorced men because despite our Exs viewpoint we did everything we did with them in mind. Now it’s time to consider you and you alone. Good luck.

They’re all kinds—CEOs of nonprofits, nurses, teachers, even sometimes women I went to school with years ago. Single moms and recently divorced women are kind of my bread and butter. I steer clear of bar flies, hairdressers, waitresses, and sex workers—they’re more trouble than they’re worth! I’m very active in my community, attending galas, fundraisers, grand openings, civic engagements, and alumni events for my alma mater. I learned back in college that meeting women is a numbers game—the more…

I can’t remember if I did anything for the dates in the years immediately after my divorce, but now that there’s some time between then and now, I definitely do not. In fact, last Friday the 13th was my wedding anniversary with my ex-wife, and I spent the night enjoying the company of a traveling nurse named Natasha. The anniversary was an afterthought, but I can think of no better way to celebrate. It just becomes another day in the long run of it.

I’m in my 40s, twice divorced, and have been navigating multiple casual relationships—sometimes concurrently. I’m financially stable, a professional in my field, in excellent physical shape, intelligent, charismatic, and social. This naturally makes me very attractive to women who are looking for something serious. But I’m done with long-term relationships. The entire concept no longer appeals to me. That said, I’m great at dating. I enjoy sex and all the things new couples do. Two marriages hav…

Hey, it’s done man. You did your best and they’re grown and on their own. Focus on your own individual relationships with your children as standalone relationships separate from anyone else.

Here’s the thing about the relationships you’re after: they’re more like companionships, and these types of relationships tend to naturally run their course—and that’s okay! Without the goal of marriage, children, or any major escalation, that progression is perfectly normal. If you’re not okay with relationships having an expiration date, it might be worth taking time to focus on yourself and doing the work to become the best version of you. I’m sorry, but that check wasn’t reality. You’re focu…

You’re 50% of this marriage, that’s the only part of this you control. From what I’ve read there’s nothing you’ve said that cannot be worked on by both of you. I understand you’re tired and the constant barrage of toxicity takes its toll on you. I recommend marriage counseling or if you attend a church possibly seeking guidance through them. For me, it was the infidelity and her disregard for my well-being. That’s when I knew she didn’t care whether I lived or died.

If this is part of your divorce decree, it needs to happen. If you’re feeling gracious and want to give her more time, that’s your decision. However, if your patience is running thin, your best course is to formally encourage her in writing to comply with the court’s order to sell the house and split the proceeds 50/50. If she doesn’t follow through, you’ll need to take legal action to resolve the issue. She’s the one who split up the family. You lost your home, and if it meant anything to her, …

First off—you’re married! Not single and not divorced. If you see someone else that’s infidelity. If you decide to separate that will require agreed upon terms. If you wish to see other people I strongly encourage you to get legally divorced first.

Unfortunately you need to get into the court system. You’re going to be paying no matter what. Start keeping records of the money you provide her and the resources you provide. The kids are going to be the hardest part especially because you work in a different state.

I don’t think this really concerns you. You can give surface level “I’m sorry for your loss.” But beyond that you have no duty or obligation to console, bring meals or be involved.

Your value doesn’t come from her. She’s bottom-feeding, and that’s not a reflection on you. She owns that completely. If you handed someone a bar of gold and they turned it down for a candy bar, would you feel bad? I get the wanting to know—I think it’s something we all go through—and I’m telling you firsthand that no matter how much you learn or discover, those questions are never answered. Focus on you. You’re the prize!

It doesn’t matter. My ex-wife has admitted to me that she regrets leaving, so the regret is clear. In divorce, there are no victors or victims—it’s the complete death of a family. We should mourn and grieve that loss, but we cannot live with corpses.

Holy shit! I’m updating my investment portfolio on Monday to include a rental home for my son and his family! You’re a damn genius! He’ll never have to go through what I did!

Let validation be the end of this. Carry it no further. Work on getting your divorce finalized. You’re the prize! Let her bottom feed where-ever she wants.

Make the most of your time away from your son by being productive. Hit the gym, eat well, and take care of yourself. Be social—go hit some golf balls, take a motorcycle ride, or do whatever you enjoy! But most importantly, when you’re with your son, be fully present. Don’t just hand him a device while you scroll through your phone. Do things together! Even if it’s something as simple as sharing a meal or watching a movie, make those moments count.
