Left eye or right eye "wink", does it matter? (someone else can make the brown eye joke)

You're suggesting Rambo a comfort test?

Doesn't get much better than 3 generations of family, together sharing the same activity. Good work getting your son those experiences.

I wrote this last week and never got it posted. Update at bottom. 10/31/20 OYS??, 49, married 20 yrs., 2 kids. Life is good. Enjoying the ride since January 2018. MRP has been life changing in so many ways. Lifts and diet are on point. Been doing Mathews BLS for a while now. Looking at starting PHAT this week. Really need to look into TRT, get tested and evaluate. Much good advice on that here. Found out 2 of my brother in laws are on TRT. One is lifting and we had a good workout when he was in …

First off, why second guess pursuing your passion, especially if it gets you spending time with your Dad., and 10K is not all that much in the grand scheme. Second, your wife is likely in peri or full on menopause. I am going through this and one minute she is laughing and I am her rock. The next second she is losing it over something inconsequential. I just laugh at it, but it does get annoying at times. And to your point, there are a lot of other options for a man.

Understood. Maybe that is the question to I need contemplate, is it time for a new mission? Can I really determine my new 'mission' if still hanging on to my current one? Don't know that I would say 'mission accomplised' but close enough that I can either enjoy the current life I have created, or cast off toward the unknown and find the next goal and new adventure. I doubt you remember but a while back you responded to my first OYS with stingingly inciteful feedback that was very helpful to me. …

Thanks. I recently came across the statement, 'every great life has had a great renunciation'. I keep thinking, is it time to 'scare' myself and see what I am really made of... maybe I have already had that moment of renouncement, but now what?

I apprciate that. I believe it's centered on wanting a blank canvas upon which to paint. Before that would have scared me. What should I paint? What if people don't like it and think I suck. Now I crave a blank canvas on which to express myself. To go out and explore with my new worldview and skills. Up until now I have been coloring in a picture someone else drew. When I think about being expressly on my own, alone, it scares me. Part of me feels a need to face that. On the other side, even if …

Freedom, fame, or fortune. Zan Perrion, says it is one of these 3 which motivates all men. For me it is the first. Yet, I have never lived a truly free life. There has always been a need to hold on, can’t let go, afraid to fall. I remember years ago, connecting with the theme of ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’, which spoke to the inherent conflict of wanting to be free, but grounded at the same time. I keep circling back to feeling my life is at a point where I need to let go. Cortez burning…

#8 just got posted on my white board. The monogamous husband, and father with 'good values' that society wants me to be, is in direct conflict with the life my 'true self' wants to be living. Thank you for your post.

Don't puke, man up and swallow that shit. Be attractive. The more you can let go of ego, the more fun things get. Easier to just NGAF. Injuries are excuses, you're 48, you will always be sore or injured in some way if pushing. Embrace it and push through faggot. Why no body weight? Ego?

Shit man, we're the same age and I like your user name - Peace on Earth, Purity of Essence, and all that. It's why i only drink distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure grain alcohol... Makes me want to help, though not sure what i can offer at this time. Keep plugging, lift, STFU, as you note. Fight that urge to be lazy, take extreme ownership. Good you see 'this is all your doing'. Keep the faith, when applied properly, the knowledge here can bring the life you want, which might not be the…

OYS #5: 48, married 20+ years, 2 teenage kids. 5’10” 178, estimated BF% 14ish. Found MRP January 2018. Lifts: 200 bench, 330 squat, 370 deadlift. Haven’t maxed in a while but continuing to train hard. Having to eat an additional 300-500 calories a day. Weight has gone up a little, waist staying the same. Workout hard, sleep enough, eat enough. Reads: Most all of it. Doing another read of Day Bang and SGM. Last week my OYS goal was to keep approaching and number close. Actually, the goal is to fi…

Search couldnt find anything by 'j10'. My nature isn't to be monogomous, but I did it for so long. Never had an LTR before getting married that I didn't 'cheat' on. Society had me convinced that once married that was not ok. I don't feel that way anymore, but haven't yet broken away. Need to break out of that mindset.

Shit, I never got snot bubbles. I got 3 nights of discussion in which she tried from every angle. Like at the end of T2 when the bad terminator gets melted. I swear all day she thought about nothing else, then brought it that night. Tears, hysterics, pleading, threatening, baragaining, but no throwing anything or snot bubbles. I felt the highwater mark crest when she said 'you have to be willing to compromise at least a little'. Without doubt or hesitation I was able to look her in the eyes and …

Be attractive. Don't be unattractive. Next time you want to cum on her face, would you enjoy garbbing her by the hair and telling her you're going to come on her face? Still seems you are over thinking it, missing the basics, and DEERing. Keep walking the path, focus on the process, and maybe even try and enjoy it in the way you want. Own it.

OYS #4? (I wrote a couple OYSs that I never posted. After rereading, the necessary corrections were obvious, hint: it was all my fault) 48, married 20+ years, 2 teenage kids. 5’10” 177, estimated BF% 13ish. Found MRP January 2018. Lifts: 200 bench, 330 squat, 370 deadlift. Haven’t maxed in a while but continuing to train hard. Doing a month, 3x’s a week with a trainer. A 54 years old former bodybuilder and powerlifter who’s still cranking. Figure I can learn something. Never have trained with a …

Why is the wife the one that usually helps with your son? Do you currently have the relationship you want with your kids, or is there an opportunity there to OYS more?

Yes you are the asshole. It is ultimately her choice to get tattoos or breast implants and your choice whether or not it is something you need to next a woman over. My wife in her early 40's got breast augmentation. She had thought about it for years. We discussed it numerous times, but I wanted it to be her final decision. After, she felt more sexy and comfortable in her own body. You said your piece and gave your opinion. Now be supportive and not an ass (be attractive, don't be unattractive).…

I wasn't saying forget the past, for the reasons you both mention. More along the lines of not dwelling on it, if it is too painful at the moment and negative thoughts are not helping, to let it go for a bit. I have found myself there at times and looking forward to what I can change and control can pull me out of rearview mirror looking funk.

What hack3ge wrote makes complete sense, and was my experience as well. Ultimately my wife could not 'surrender' and fully trust me, or our relationship, due to the dread created. I was autistic Rambo to the point of bringing up an open marriage in year 1. She was fucking me, but to try and keep me, not out of desire. /u/hornsofapathy and others helped me realize she needed to feel SAFE. This was different than comfort. Once she began to feel safe and that I was not going to start fucking other …

Spank her correctly (look up youtube videos dude - you can do this wrong). Isn't that the truth. Been 'spanking' her for over a year, but just this past weekend actually took some time to research proper technique. Now have to practice regularly...

OYS #3 48, married 20 years, 2 teenage kids. 5’10” 176, estimated BF% 15ish. Found MRP January 2018. Lifts: 200 bench, 330 squat, 370 deadlift. Prioritizing hiking uphill with a pack. Getting bigger and lifting more at a certain point works against building all day ‘mountain strength’. Cam Hanes does it, been following him on IG. Reads: Most all the recommendations, 2nd and 3rd times for some. Focusing more on implementing what I have already learned. Going to check out ‘Leading and Supporting L…

Thank you so much for that! I recall reading it originally, so glad to read it again now (twice). It is absolutely insane how similar our situations and experiences have been. Though I seem to have made more mistakes early on... I think your story may have been a huge push for me to have the serious talk with my wife. I was at that point. Now, I have had an incredible 3 weeks. She has been showing in every way she wants to meet my needs. From literally the best sex of my life Friday, to wanting …

Thanks, I appreciate that! I recall reading it when you first posted, but an example of needing to be ready before receiving the message. I am on the 2 reading of WoftSM and it's now like a new book. Creating a place of safety and having patience have been my focus. When she is readily and happily passing compliance tests, and ASD is fading, what might I want to consider as the next steps?

I appreciate both good observations. Guilty as charged. I need to find balance. Complacency is the enemy. Saw a guy on the corner today with a 'Honk for PEACE' sign. Fuck peace, we progress and succeed through conflict. Probably too excited by her finally opening up. I may have begun settling into peace mode, thinking the battle was won. And maybe this battle was won, but the greater conflicts will never end. I have an opportunity to enjoy experiences I have wanted for years. I do not want to se…

If I want hardcore sex, or sex at all, it is all up to me. I have been telling myself the same. A month ago wife and I, were both resigned to, 'it's just her blueprint'. Now realizing blueprints can change, and things that have never been on the table in 20+ years are happening. Now that the door(s) are open(ing), I have to work to be patient in allowing progress to unfold. Keep pushing for what you want and quite possibly need. Ultimately, if it is truly a need, and your wife will never be the …

Some of what you describe sounds like where I was at one point. I got called a 'mystery' for turning off phone location and other such things. Let their minds wonder. I'd say keep pushing with your self improvement. This could be a difficult time and I wish I had more specific advice. In my case providing the wife a place of safety allowed her to become open to the idea of something like using a sex swing. It sounded like your wife might be curious about doing such things, but only with the righ…

Reads: Most all the recommended reading, 2nd and 3rd times for some. Focusing more on implementing what I have already learned. Both good comments. I did ponder, am I negotiating desire to fulfill my need for sexual validation? Ultimately I want sex because it feels good and is enjoyable. Maybe a need for validation, but have not yet spun plates to get that. I believe I want sex because it is an enjoyable biologically programmed desire. Not to mention some of the stories I've read on here and thought, I want to do that. As to negotiating desire, maybe. I really hope I am not making a year one mistake, though it wouldn't …
