I learned. Learned that women engage in bad faith with marriages in a way that most men can't even comprehend. Women will openly talk with their girlfriends on how they plan on leaving their husband in 3 or 5 (or longer) once a mortgage gets paid off /kids hit a certain age etc. I've got a woman friend that owns a business. And the way these women talk about their husbands is vile. One is only with a guy for money, 16 years together, HS sweethearts, but if he loses his job she'll divorce him. An…

Think more like a woman. It's a game to her. It was with you and it is with this new guy. Even if she stays with the dude she'll get bored of him. My ex didn't cheat on me but she's with a guy now. Women like our exes aren't just going to flip a switch and think of their new guys as equals who they'll stick by through thick and thin. This new guy of my ex will absolutely be on the chopping block if he struggles with unemployment or gets chronic back pain or whatever. Even if your ex stays with t…

My ex left a few weeks after she got her greencard. I never saw her again. No pregnancy at least haha.

It's terrible advice and I don't know why we keep giving it to men. If the ex wants out (which is the case in the vast majority of divorces) then move-on. I waited 11 months before I dated because everyone told me to. Complete waste of time. If you want to date...date.

My ex said when she left "if we do get back together we're not going to talk about what we did when we were seperated". People don't say that to hide the fact theyre taking clarinet lessons, ya get my drift. "Ok, i confess, while seperated i.... i, self-published a compilation of short stories! breaks into tears " And she and I had only ever had sex with each other. So I understand where you're coming from. Don't be blind to this stuff, especially if she does try to reconcile, and the fact you h…

You didn't believe any of that horseshit she said did you?

I'd bet 401k she's thinking " oh shit, he actually did address the issue and get better with X. ehh who cares I'll still divorce him and say it was something else/it was "too late". "

The most important step (I'd say by far) is to let her walk. Don't plead, don't beg. The reasons she wants a divorce are completely irrelevant to you. And not to mention she will guilt you into oblivion about things that aren't even the real reasons she's divorcing anyways. The reasons now just don't matter. What matters now is forward. I got canned from a job right out of HS and I plead my case and pointed out all my hard work and how I was literally never late once bla bla bla. A decade later …

She doesn't give a shit that it will negatively affect the kid, that's why. And you shouldn't give a shit about what she's doing. I didn't have this sub or any male friend so I'm going to tell you what I wish I would've heard from the beginning. Your wife has known for years she was going to divorce you. Like years. If she wants the divorce...give it to her. Don't ask why or try to beg to get her back. Just let her walk. The reason she gives you is almost never the real reason. Don't let her gui…

The reasons she tells you and the reasons she tells her girlfriends why she Is divorcing are vastly different. She will gaslight and guilt you into oblivion about why she is divorcing you. Almost none of them will be true. Don't ever forget that.

I never got into video games but they'll attack whatever they can. I got shit for never drinking. I grew up Mormon so didn't start and even after no longer being religious, I just never picked up drinking. And got shit for that. It's whatever sticks to the wall.

Im a big reader, can read 2, 3 hours at a time, and no woman has ever said boo to me about it. But somehow video games for this guy "in his mid 40s' is a problem. How immature from his ex.

There's a similar comment on another thread. What's the "marriage wheel"?

Im a big reader. I'm currently reading 3 books. One is about people who fly and get magic from glowing rocks. My ex, and other women I've dated too, have never said boo to me when I spend three hours reading. But I bust out my ps4 and it's like the world was ending. Idk, just my experience.

" the fact she felt this way for years and didn't bother to try to fix it" Because she was planning her exit. That goes for OP too. It's the hill I'll die on with divorces. They knew for years. They wait until the house is whatever % paid off, or until the youngest hits whatever age. Until they secure that promotion at work, or finish their masters etc. Women play the long game, ill give them that. Edit: Also dude, don't sweat the "2 year blues" as I call them. It happened to me, to a ton of guy…

"She's been unhappy for years" Let me translate that for you...she's known for years she was going to divorce you. You ever been fired from a job or written up, then a few weeks later start to think "hold the fuck up, my boss actually broke this and this policy before, and the company lied about this and this policy, and the dude who replaced me ended up being the bosses nephew.....etc etc"? Thats what divorces are like. They will gaslight and manipulate you into oblivion if you let them. And th…
