Such a great comment. The issue with tribalism and groupthink is that they lend themselves to prejudice— or judging someone before you’ve had a chance to know them.

Read the book Sapiens. We do not know the names of the tribes, as they are very early.

I think you're touching on an important distinction. By default, men are expendable due to the economics of reproduction. Valued men are made.

The majority of the military can not be Navy SEALs. Also historically when things got bad they drafted all the men

Skittles, a $50 AUD makeup voucher and a handwritten card. She got me microfibre gym towels. Pretty happy with that.

I find married redpill more helpful for dealing with my girlfriend. Some of the suggestions on there are a little toxic (like the suggestion to spin plates/cheat on your loving wife). However I was told something early on in life. When horses eat, they eat the hay and soy out the sticks. This has been my attitude with every belief I've held. If something doesn't work for you, you don't have to take it on. Much of RP I don't take on, but some of it has been life changing for me, and at the very l…

Look there are great games that you could argue are educational. Examples-- Civilization, Factorio, EUIV, CKII, Total War, & Cities Skylines. But largely you have an innate desire to achieve things in a given week. And by achieving things in this game, it fulfills that need to achieve. Once you've done some Runescape tasks or optimised your factory in Factorio, you may not be able to motivate yourself to do worthwhile boring tasks in life.

The polyamerous guy that wrote the Wonder Woman comics would probably disagree. His two "wives" stayed together even after he died, into their old age. Seemed like a nice relationship, but not for me personally. One woman is enough lol

Yes you should weigh daily and average it up at the end of the week because of daily fluctuations. It's much more accurate this way. If your average weight this week is lower than last week, you're eating at a caloric deficit. If it's greater than let's say 1.5kg (3 lbs, I think), your caloric deficit is too much and you're going to lose muscle. Same with a bulk. If you're gaining more than 1.5kg of mass each week, much of it will be fat. You can look around for the exact numbers, but that's pre…

Maybe speak with them and offer to put sound dampeners on their side of the wall? It won't cut it off totally, but between that and the ear plugs, you should be able to sleep.

Got to agree with SL5x5, as well as the advice to track what you eat and weigh yourself daily. Make sure you buy a food scale

Agreed. It would be better to get a bicycle or go swimming in your spare time. Cardio is good for your lifts. If you're finding yourself losing breath or having to take a small break in between reps during squats or deadlifts, you probably could help it by doing a small amount of cardio.

I'm actually in the same boat as you. Havent lifted at all this week due to exhaustion. I'm not going to make excuses, I'm going to get my blood work done this Sat. If everything is normal then I know I'm just being a bitch and need to suck it just up.

Hey man while there is no objective meaning, it’s up to you to give your life subjective meaning, and provide meaning for others. I’ve been down the whirlpool of nihilism and depression and it hasn’t been conducive to my happiness or motivation. I still believe that there is no ultimate purpose, but I’ve chosen to live the best life I can. Read up on Camus and the Myth of Sisyphus. Also Man’s Search for Meaning.

Your point is that nothing matters, which is true. That’s like saying a video game doesn’t matter. If you said that to a group of gamers they’d look at you like you’re an idiot. Of course it doesn’t matter. Who the fuck cares, it’s fun! Just because it doesn’t matter doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the game.

I read about the Myth of Sisyphus a while back, and how he was condemned by the gods to push a boulder up a hill for all of eternity, and how it made him strong. This is not directly applicable to our existence today, because life is so easy. No god has cursed us to push a boulder. Nobody is going to force you to be a man. It’s voluntary. It’s opt-in.

Yes. Check out /r/LeanGains /r/IntermittentFasting /r/omad I’m in a fasted state most of the day from drinking black coffee and water. I eat my first large meal around 3pm, which is usually some form of vegetarian curry (I only eat meat on weekends). Usually prepared on /r/MealPrepSunday. Basically the benefits are great, I can’t even lost most of them because I don’t have the papers right now. Was depressed and slightly overweight in university. Barely got through that tbh, and only managed it through coping mechanisms like games and weed. Pretty much a week after graduation, I quit both. Sold my gaming pc, and threw my bong in the bin. I spent weeks thinking of my goals, reading, and refactoring them. Found it difficult to go to gym, at all, even though I had been paying for a membership for two years. So I told myself “all you gotta do is go once a week”. And I held my chin up if I …

Great post. I wrote down a few things I lack— inspired by what you’ve written. I need to learn to iron my clothes every day. In the past I’ve found this task loathsome. I need to learn to fold my clothes properly (KonMarie) I need to ditch TV shows on Netflix, and read instead. I need to be more organised with physical papers (I’m pretty organised digitally) I need to schedule Reddit time so I don’t mindless browse it. Each night once I’ve done my tasks to start with. Once a week once I get more…

To preface this I’m only recently RPed— but I have gone through a similar existential crisis in the past. Do with that info what you’ll will. Hey man to an extend everyone struggles with this. But you are trying to run before you can crawl. One thing give come to accept is that my life will be meaningless unless I accumulate power to actually do something. “Better to be a warrior in a garden, then a gardener in a war.” So my life meaning for now is competence— in every area. Based off this I: - …
