I disagree. Being the DJ is MAAAAAAAD social proof. Girls will wait for you. I did a part-time DJ gig once. I had two girls wait until after and then ask me out to breakfast. I ended up dating one of them for a short while. And you can always collect numbers instead of trying to bang them that night.

Once we were at her place she started going cold. I had to warm her up again. Once the kiss happened, she pulled back and went directly to calling her ex. As a long-time karaoke host / singer I have the following advice: Sing fun songs. But also know what songs are overdone. If I have to hear one more stupid girl sing "Killing Me Softly" I am going to puke! Think of (over)popular songs and do other songs by that artist.
