For some strange reason, the new supply is measuring himself against you. This is to prove to your wife that he is superior to you. For the sake of your children, and your own mental health, ignore it. It would put you in a terrible legal situation and will absolutely affect your ability to see your children. Any man who acts that way just screams insecurity. My ex-wife and her new supply try this, but I ignore it. The reality is that her and her new supply are narcissists and very jealous of me…

Out of curiosity… Was your ex wife a narcissist?

I would put major pressure on your lawyer here, as the job market is absolutely brutal.

I’ll be praying for you brother. Aren’t you able to get a child support adjustment due to a change in your financial circumstances?

1. https://csapps.oag.texas.gov/monthly-child-support-calculator The final amount will ultimately be determined by the divorce decree. Not sure if you have retained legal council or not, but I had great success with Sisemore Law Firm. Pricey but well worth it when fighting for your kids.

Get both. The lawyer should be able to guide you when you are in mediation. Your lawyer should be advocating your needs during the divorced The mediator is just that, a mediator. They are supposed to be a neutral party and will basically let each party know what is a realistic expectation for the session, and the likely outcome if it proceeds to a trial.

It’s a brutal process, but primarily…Fight.For.Your.Children. I refused to settle for less than 50-50, and I got it. To my understanding, once it’s signed, it is binding.

It will take time brother… Therapy if able. Gym. Gym. Gym. This is more than improving your health, looks, etc. It is also therapeutic.

Are you me? The same exact thing is happening with me, but slightly in reverse. Unless the divorce decree specifies that I am liable then, by default, I am not. I’m going to tell herto consult her lawyer. In your case, I would just work with the IRS on a payment plan. I wouldn’t want the hassle of dealing with her.

I hate to break it to you brother, but she likely stopped caring about you long ago. We all went through this and it’s not easy to digest. I will say that if you give yourself grace, and put in an honest effort, you can heal from this.

This touch me deeply as I am an alignment with trying to maintain my integrity throughout the entire process for my children for myself and for God.

I really wish I had a friend like you during the process. One always stand in constant contact with him because he’ll need you now more than ever. The sheer amount of stress and emotional toil from a man who desired to be a husband and a father, and now facing a divorce is almost beyond comprehension. He will talk to you cry to you and the most important things just to be present for him.

I’m sad to say, but this is normal. Most of your mutual friends don’t want to choose sides, so they become distant. I’m also sad to say that your support system will almost be non-existent. But, those who do stick by you during this devastating period are your true friends and family. This subreddit is an absolute treasure, and it likely saved some of our lives. Ultimately, grief will have to run its course. During this time, frequent this sub, seek professional help if necessary, get in the gym…

Brother, I just want to first say that you are in the right place. Allow yourself time to grieve. This is a devastating experience, especially if you loved deeply, and strived to be the best father and husband that you could be. Take it ONE DAY, ONE HOUR, ONE MINUTE, ONE SECOND at a time. Get in the gym. Seriously, get in the gym as this is incredibly therapeutic, and you will start to appreciate and learn to love yourself on a physical level. Seek therapy. I haven't done this myself, as I'm doi…

Please don’t! Most individuals in this thread have had those very dark feelings. Those feelings are very, very real. I beg you to please establish a support system parents therapy anything including your friends here.

I appreciate this. That's happened on so many occasions where Facetime was enabled, even though she and my children know that it is forbidden in my home. Kids being kids forget and turn FaceTime on, but she, of course, will accept the FaceTime call and engage with them. Fortunately, I disabled FaceTime on their devices.

Prayers for you brother. Stay in this subreddit because so many husbands and fathers have been and are going through this journey. It will likely be the hardest experience you have ever been through... But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light will start very dim, but will get brighter with time.

I’m interested in this, as I’m going through something similar. My ex does not want me to have 50/50, for no other reason than control. I’m a good and present father and she is going to have an a tough hill to climb to justify why not having them 50/50 is not in their best interest. We have mediation soon, and I told my lawyer that this is the hill that I will die on, and I’m willing to go to trial for this.

I don't know. It seems the courts are heavily biased on the side of the woman. Her lawyer tried to get me to sign an agreement when my wife filed, with a incredibly tight deadline. I told them that I would sign nothing until I retain legal counsel, which I did. I am a good father, and the children and even she will (should) attest that truth. I don't have a criminal record or anything like that. The more stories I read of fathers getting railroaded because of something the wife did during the di…

This is incredible insight, and I greatly appreciate it. I intend to fight for 50/50 with every fiber of my being. I've never been in mediation, but I intend to stand firm on my decision. If you don't mind, can you tell me what the acronyms "GAL" and "OC"?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond Christy. Yes, I currently have them a couple of days a week, and every other weekend. Not quite 50/50 though. Yes, I take every opportunity I can to be with them. I'm there for every activity (school, outside of school (dance), etc. My ex is not very consistent with this, as she seems to have mood swings and want to modify the current arrangement at times. I can't seem to trust her to be consistent with this, which is why I would like to get this …

I’m dealing with the same thing. However, I have to remind myself that I miss my role as a husband, provider, and protector, but, my marriage ended because none of those attributes were appreciated by my ex… My marriage ended after 10 years, so in some ways it’s only natural that we would feel this way. You have to keep reminding yourself that the right woman will naturally make you want take on those roles again.

In still optimistic about true love. I also realize that that pure, empathic love is reserved for a non-narcissist. Divorce is the hardest thing that I’ve had to go through… So, so very hard. Ironically, I look better, I’m in the best shape of my life. More importantly, I have the clarity to know why my marriage ended...This fact is likely the reason I’m still among the living.

Process those raw emotions brother. You are not alone. We are all currently or have been through this. As a man that truly embracea fatherhood and being a good husband, you are having an existential crisis. This all must take place first before you will even before you would even consider to believe in the idea of healing. Therapy is also an option to help with the processing. Also, pour everything you have into those kids. They need you now more than ever.

I’m dealing with this now and my ex did the same thing. I pay half of everything where my ex and kids live. Within 2 months of our separated and before a divorce was even filed, she was with another man. Since she works during the day, my children are with this man. I used to be home with my children as I worked from home. This really just highlights the disrespect she (narcissist) always had for me, and as a man, the lack of respect that he has for me as he is even comfortable being around anot…

You are not alone, and it can be excruciating..Plain and simple. In my situation, curiosity got the better of me and I found the guy online… I say this in all humbleness…The guy has absolutely nothing on me, physically or professionally. In my situation, I found out my wife was a narcissist. Which explains how she moved on so quickly. I’m not sure of your circumstance, but something to consider. I know it’s difficult, but please try to focus on yourself. One thing that helped me process the divo…
