It also puts your hands in between you and your aggressor in a non-threatening manner, that can allow you to quickly raise a defense in case of a physical attack. 2	A new book: "Are men obsolete in the modern world?" You can imagine the outcry a book called "Are Women Obsolete?" True enough, even though I was being very tongue-in-cheek. It's not as though the hypothetical situation where men have been deemed "obsolete" is likely to ever occur. I have no doubts that the range of what men and women can do greatly overlaps.
