Absolutely. It also puts your hands in between you and your aggressor in a non-threatening manner, that can allow you to quickly raise a defense in case of a physical attack. It's also a good idea to keep a bit of head movement going (sway side to side a bit) so that if someone swings at you, there is a better chance of them missing.

It's also a very good idea to maintain a neutral stance (hands open, palms towards attacker, elbows at your sides, while loudly announcing you "do not want to fight" This helps bystanders remember that you were not attempting to be aggressive in the initial stages of the confrontation.

You could always offer the white knight the same treatment? jk. But in all seriousness, a white knight is also at a much higher risk of an assault charge should they attack you unprovoked.

You know, I made the remark that most women wouldn't be able to change a tire on the side of the road to my wife once. She also got quite upset at me. I took her outside and gave her a tire iron to remove the bolts on her car. After much grunting, heaving and ado, she wasn't able to remove a single lug nut. True enough, even though I was being very tongue-in-cheek. It's not as though the hypothetical situation where men have been deemed "obsolete" is likely to ever occur. I have no doubts that the range of what men and women can do greatly overlaps. But I do not delude myself into ignoring the fact of sexual dimorphism. We just have to stop assigning value judgements to every single aspect of it.

As a man, this book deeply offends doesn't affect me at all. I don't know why you guys seem to need to cry about these things. ...unless you put it there as a joke? In that case - HAHAHA good one. But in all seriousness. This is a bunch of nonsense from people I never have to listen to. The women I know who are worth talking to would never take this seriously. The people I know who would are going to take this seriously are doomed to lead long unhappy lives unless they get their heads out of the…

They wouldn't be able to get around, since all their flat tires would go unchanged. Those few women with the strength to do it wouldn't be able to provide enough coverage. Additionally, many items of canned food would be inaccessible to the general population. Society would break down.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
