'America need's an enemy' is a contrived critique but not since the collapse of the USSR has the mantle of scientist been so exalted, last being Sagan and Hawking

Funny that the Sokal affair was a left-on-left critique but it's only brought up in right wing audiences to destroy academia altogether

I do believe that women also get a feeling of validation by attracting a man, though I can agree that this is a less intense/prominent feature for women as compared to men. Most women would admit that there is nothing damaging to their image or self esteem if they would remain single their entire lives. In fact, some would say they are better off. The male condition is this sword of damocles hanging above us. We could ignore it or give in, but it still exists regardless. It's why virgin/incel is…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 06:20 PM

What I'm trying to get at is the only thing that validates a man is his ability to attract a woman, which is something women never really have to deal with. It's something we as a society have agreed upon. So no, this is unique to us.

She as in the person you replied to. What if men grew up knowing that they are equally as precious? They aren't. Full stop. Men are inherently valueless.

She doesn't understand that signalling a partner is part of how men are validated (not validate themselves, but are seen as valid) and instead opts to the act of sex itself, ie feeling good. She doesn't really see men as human.

Anyone being mad at people for not wanting to date them is de facto entitlement Does this extend to racism?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:43 PM

This was VERY true in the 70s, when the term was invented, and it is still pretty true today. Personally, I think this is the crux. We agree, (probably OP not sure) that the male gaze was a critique of all media, but maybe not so much today. The female gaze did not exist, and is not really prevalent today but we do see female centered media today such that we can see the camera, as it is, based on the female eye (Emerald Fennell an example). So I don't think: So OP (and you) are saying (I think)…

/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:58 PM

Enlighten me. Notably absent from my comment is whether this critique is a bad thing. The 'male gaze' is a popular critique. The OP might be encountering it for the first time but it's well known, you're just expanding on his post.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:54 PM

There aren’t really enough men who fit the first bill to go around for women to “genuinely choose better” at large Sucks to suck, not my problem
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:45 PM
5

The 'male gaze' is a criticism of male centred media, there's no such critique of the other way around, ie what the OP states. Notably absent in the OP is a fleshed out reason why this is a bad thing.

I thought you meant compounding in terms of traits, my bad. The effect is still not high, 68, 95, 99.7 rule. You're accounting for a small number of individuals and making it out to be a hard rule for sexual selection. Assortative mating is far more prescriptive. What's even worse is when you try to conserve variability across multiple domains. It's not uniform across all abilities and cultures. It's real world application is shaky at best.

The CIA jackals on tiktok are telling people to stop letting their kids be weird because they're 'annoying coworkers', not falling for it

The mean IQ score, based on the total score of the Picture and Moray House Tests, was 100.64 for girls and 100.48 for boys. This difference of 0.16 (95% CI=−0.037 to 0.367) was nonsignificant, despite the massive numbers tested, t(79,374)=1.6, P=.11. The standard deviation was 14.1 for girls and 14.9 for boys. Levene's test for comparing variances was significant, P<.001, i.e., boys and girls differed significantly in variability. From your link. That's the significant difference they report.

Not really interested in the rest of the post but I'm kinda interested in this: I had an ex like that. Loved the sexual attention I gave him. The moment he acted like it was inconvenient to come see me, I dropped him like a hot potato. Guess who came crawling back to me months later begging for a crumb of attention? Stayed friends with him for years because he apologized enough. His dating life took a bad turn throughout those years, constantly dumped or cheated on, with long dry spells in betwe…

If women want to play 'dating market', they're willingly walking toward their own subjugation with respect to 'value'. There's other ways to tell men that women don't care if they think they're too ugly to date. Maybe not as biting, but less objectifying.

"Pair bonding" as in the release of oxytocin is a way to separate extension from thought in an anti-Spinozist way. It's a means to elevate the body as function rather than form. This allows for a specific mysticism around love that is not action (ie. thought) but a biological conclusion built on heirarchy.

Yes it was directed by a man to men, but it's a gen z type clunky with it's metaphor. It's ethos is to be 'men sympathize with this character and are horrified by their sympathy' but it fails because its transparent from the get go. It seems to hit the least aware men, so maybe mission accomplished. But the end result right now is just women discussing the Bear's in their life. horror generally a female centric genre it may be among the most female centric, final girl is a thing

Obsession is very clearly for the girls, to pathologize the boys. That's why it's not a very good movie. If it was for the boys it would be better at making Bear sympathetic, but he's the idea of a sympathetic boy.

After the failure of wokism, women turned to each other and threw down the banner of liberal feminism and tried to get the most out of a bad situation. Understandable, its not going feminism's way so may as well become Machivellian. Unfortunately, this also caused a death spiral of sorts. So you're correct, many men today give no sympathy to women. But it's called the fascist turn for a reason, nobody gets sympathy anymore.

The problem with your OP was that it's supposed rebuttal against 'blank slate hubris' but takes a non-confrontational weak centrist approach. Either seems you believe the manosphere is manifest from some natural occurrence and society's attempts to provide an alternative is nothing more than the hubris you talk about, or you believe the OP has merit. There's no centrist position. Which is why I asked about historical materialism before. This is also why I believe this is a softened position.

It does need to be convincing, otherwise what's the point? Loads of people are anti-vax now as an analogy. Nobody is attracted to spineless people pleasers, man or woman, but I don't even believe that type of person exists to the extent you're painting them. I think those men have a general anxiety around their appearance and charm, and that's it. Calling them duplicitous, mealy-mouthed, and pathetic seems counter productive.

2015 post vs a new post by IFS. IFS is the same organization that excuses men for the lack of childcare due to their jobs, but somehow also blames women for hoarding the childcare. Contradiction much? That's not a contradiction. Childcare is either work or it isn't. Love isn’t a checklist of attributes but attraction is Nope, try again. You're not unique or interesting in being depressed on your looks and wanting to date a hot person, that's everyone! Just like any black pill person, you actually have to get over yourself and learn how to fall in love. I'm the only one here not validating the delusions.

I don’t want “chad” I just want someone a bit better looking than average You and everyone buddy, but you haven't actually self-actualized yet. Love isn't a checklist of attributes, and thus love will never come to you.

Men have a fascoid particle that makes them perceive women paradoxically as an object of desire and an object of disgust. ''Mirjam will capture you like the witch she is. Whatever she loves is horribly destroyed-and her love is more often than not quickly given. No man has ever been able to keep away from her after the first time-not even me. Just so you know." "Why are you telling me this? I've already explained . . . " "Because even the best of intentions are useless if you're dealing with sli…

I'm referring to the a couple of things. The guy that got busted in a group chat csam sharing thing that was named 'diddy disciples' or some shit. Redditors that endlessly talk about muscle mommies or femboys. It's less about the thing that's sexually attractive and more about signalling that you have edgy/outsider taste in sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/26 06:26 PM

It's weird how young men's sexual fetishism is little more than to signal transgression than it is about anything titillating.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 05:05 PM

Flooding the zone is a deliberate covert attempt at silencing pride without legislation. I have a hard time agreeing with any justification for condemning the entire idea as hateful unless some very direct infringment is happening. Is this the "I'm not touching you" defense?

Nobody is saying a man who struggles with dating is automatically a bad person. You've never heard virgin being used as an insult?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 04:11 PM

I just don't see how it even matters. It matters because its a deliberate effort to silence pride month by flooding the zone. If you said, for instance, "Happy Pride, Make sure to remember its also men's mental health month" youd have far more credibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 04:01 PM

Biology Sorry I'm Wittgensteinian. My science is a set of Bayesian probability curves based on axiomatic hinge epistemology. I don't really believe in all encompassing 'male/female natures' such that most can be explained through historical materialism and minor dimorphism (hence the hinge). It's a very heavy lift to blame it all on those two things. Personally I think the blame is a self-referential antipathy between the sexes.

Society is mocking you because you've spent ten years confidently explaining women while understanding them at approximately the level a medieval peasant understood electricity. Post-hoc rationalisation. Women routinely moralize unsuccessful men before even knowing a thing about them.

So, what I'm saying is that the reason men believe that being unwanted is an inherent moral issue comes part and parcel with the idea that it is inherently immoral to be an unwanted man. It's not borne from solely entitlement, but a radical reaction to being perceived as lesser than. I've seen many people, even supposed progressives, treat unwanted men as both ugly and dangerous.

Are you aware that society considers an unwanted male to be lesser than? That a man that cannot attract a woman is morally bad? The hypothetical isn't that you yourself think men that are virgins are bad (that's debatable tbh, its probably unconscious) it's that society puts moral value on their ability to attract a woman.

There's definitely a want to absolve women from encouraging and rewarding traditional masculinity, but few women identify as progressive and fewer actually feminist. You might allow for men to present as gender nonconforming safely (I'm not actually accusing you of doing this) but by and large, for us men, we are responding to signals. Men seek the validation of other men much more than they do the validation of women. Both men and women validate a partnered male. A single male is dangerous and …

You may ask why men do certain things but men and women generally seek and reward those things. There's no forcing masculinity in a negative way that imposes a set of detriments that can be cast away. Not performing your masculine ideal is a negative always. I didn't weaponize anything You absolutely did, you implied its more legitimate to quote statistics on gender and not race. So based on the rest of your comment, because men occupy the highest, those on the lowest aren't afforded that level of compassion. All I need to know about you. And yet even among the highest levels of society, men are disproportionately responsible for violent crime. I reallllllly don't think you wanna make this argument if you wanna talk about uncomfortable statistics

Do you believe its more legitimate to weaponize statistics that way? More men occupy the lowest levels of society, in every country, do we afford them the same level of compassion as when we encounter racism? It seems you are legitimatizing gender essentialism, when racism is too icky.

Wage Gap: In 2023 when Claudia Goldin won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for showing that the gap that does exist (much smaller than the ~20% often cited) was due to pay structures that reward "long unpredictable hours" and a tendency for women to pivot towards fewer hours/week after having children. Having money increases your odds. If you are good looking you don’t need money. As you can see here, you can increase your odds in near infinite ways. But of don’t have money or the looks , what will you have to offer exactly Simply being present around a bunch of women is also a good one.

Why would it need to flatline? Why would that statistic be relevant one way or the other? It means there's more juice in the tank. Rising tide raises boats. If it flatlines then you might have an argument. that doesn't equate to a societal need for births. The world is full of people, and we can fill any need for more people with immigration. Read what you typed
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 04:09 PM

What I'm saying is that if you want to claim that eight billion people (the largest population ever in history) isn't enough, you need to give some justification for that claim. World GDP per captia hasn't flatlined And that justification is never forthcoming because this population anxiety is all just cover for "here's why women should have to fuck me even when they don't want to." One of the difficulties with talking to liberals is anticipating an argument that hasn't been said. Sure there are…

To make an analogy Do you know what an analogy is? Honestly the level of discourse on this subreddit is somehow lower than everywhere else. What is the correct amount of humans? If you are Malthusian you should be able to calculate it. Since resources are fixed according to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/26 03:02 PM

To make an analogy, its like when you say immigration needs to be lowered. By how much? What's the 'correct' amount of people? Human labour is maximizing. Humans consume and produce. How do you expect renewable technology to flourish if it's not produced by the human capital that you want to make smaller for some reason?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/26 02:22 PM

This is a pretty common post on radfem social media
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/26 01:29 PM

"the left" doesn't hold any institutional power so where are you getting this from? Each billionaire is a Trump guy, every mainstream media outlet is headed by Trump-friendly CEOs, so where?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/26 01:27 PM

There are radfems who hate so thoroughly that they couldn't possibly interact with men in any capacity

I don't really care about one off polls tbh. I've seen enough polls to know that gen z men are the most progressive generation of men yet.

I think its less class based and more an argument between people in different countries experiencing different levels of (both benevolent and detrimental) sexism
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 01:50 PM

It's essentialist to expect men to be the dice, but not women. Last I checked, both genomes recombine.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 01:28 PM
1

I agree with the whole body of your post anti-essentialist
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 01:12 PM
2

On feminism, 16% of gen Z males felt it had done more harm than good. Among over-60s the figure was 13%. This means misogynist? What if those boys just mean the current radfem line of thought? Second link doesn't show whether gen z is more misogynistic than boomers sorry
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 01:11 PM
2

To the extent that women are talking about separatism online, so are the same amount of men. We just had a post with a guy that argued that. Prevalence of incel lingo in online spaces whether ironic or not is pretty precedent. The men that are trying to roll back rights are 50+. These aren't really large groups but their larger than when I was young.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 03:05 PM

There's currently a supply shortage of labor for those jobs, such that the Trump admin reversed a decision to allow farmers to use migrant workers. Why aren't you first in line?

There's enough misogyny on this sub to call out that you don't have to assume those that complain are secretly evil. Some guys are just not well liked by women lol, you don't have to go tough guy coach about "make an effort to be funny and charming and generally pleasant to be around" because they already are. You're going to come back and say well if they were charming why aren't they successful with women and that's the point!
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 06:27 PM
8

It's a very common opinion on this sub to be unsuccessful and daring to complain about it means you are likely a bad person
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 06:08 PM
7

Having a bad personality does not mean you are immoral, that's the argument. Either address that or don't say anything.

Honestly true, the only time I hear 'male loneliness epidemic' its mostly in a sarcastic way from women
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 01:53 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 03:13 PM

Well I guess you just have to accept that and do your best to try and correct the situation as much as you can. Yes but that's different than being tarnished. There's nothing men can do to escape that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/26 03:12 PM
2

No what I mean is that the potential of violence is always there. Violence against women could effectively go to zero and men would still would have the sword of damocles above them. There's nothing men, collectively, could do to escape that. It's something men just have to go through. Women will always assume strange men are either monsters, losers or window dressing.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/26 05:01 PM

The argument is not that men are more dangerous than bears by default We're talking about whether the man vs bear debate is offensive. The scenario is 'strange man' vs bear, no caveats.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/26 04:41 PM

So your argument is that it okay to tell people to be cautious around strangers, therefore men are more dangerous than bears?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/26 04:33 PM

I'm a 'stange man' to somebody, so it's all men

You're misconstruing a negative emotion with a moral defect. Women can react negatively to you talking to them, but its not indicative of bad morals. Women can also try to make it that way (i.e. creepy) but you don't actually have to take it to heart. You are your own person. Part of the difficulty with epistemology is fuzzy logic. This is a common issue you run into when coding around neural nets. What you are saying is: Common sense example: Cold approach → “confident” in dating advice culture…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/26 04:56 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/26 05:28 PM

I don't think women these days have a frame of reference for an all-encompassing negative descriptor that strange men do. An until then, you will never be able to empathize with that. Consider it a privilege.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/26 03:28 PM
5

That's their prerogative.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 08:51 PM

People need an adequate anti-virus to infohazards. Even if you think you can detect them, you're still susceptible. I'm starting to see women in this sub cite the sub itself for gender politics.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 09:26 PM

That is quite literally neutral in the most basic sense. I don't think "international law" is very much in vogue these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 06:52 PM

It is actively cooperating economically with both the Russian government (buying oil, etc.) which is sustaining the war effort, and it is also doing business with Iran, which allows the mullahs to continue financing terrorist operations in the region, as well as engaging with Israel. This is called neutral. China is also aiding Ukraine.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 06:25 PM

Idk about that, Sanae Takaichi's election made waves, in terms of all those things. And generally China is takes a neutral stance on most geopolitical events, most notably the Gaza conflict and the Ukraine war.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 04:02 PM

I'm just not sure why you specifically call out China when 'western' Japan/South Korea will be worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 03:36 PM

there's nobody working to pay for the aging population to come. This is every country
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 03:23 PM

I think people say this mostly to neurotic men who say shit like “women are SO SENSITIVE, you can’t even tell them the wage gap is a myth without them spazing out!” Because a “normal man” would know you shouldn’t be trying to argue and denigrate someone if you realistically want them to like you or date you. Honestly, you could probably argue this without them spazing out if these guys learned how to have an adult discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 03:13 PM

If NYT is giving glowing reviews of Clavicular, are you sure you're counterculture?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/26 08:19 PM

Well, tbh, I think its pretty bad form to drop a bunch of links without explaining them if you want to make your case. Especially when the figures are within the error bars when they're cited. Not particularly making the case for your normative statement in your OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/26 07:48 PM
1

I meant that in a general sense for Science, as a Bayesian. Do you have any articles that argue against what you're posting? Are you absolutely 100% sure they don't exist?

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:53 PM
8

A lot of men draw all their conclusions about a woman based on how she looks. As opposed to? Most women don't want men talking to them
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:43 PM

You might have problems with context based languages. When someone says someone is unattractive, the "to me" is silent but mostly there. It's passive. To call someone ugly has some finality to it. Remember the negative space in someone's speech.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:03 PM

That’s real data. I'm explaining the data. The event triggered it, but it doesn't explain the catalyst. We don't all go homeless when we're fired/quit. It's weird how we all know that crime is going down, less people are getting harassed and sexually assaulted than before, even millennial parents are doing far more to strive for equity! Yet we are no less expectant of random acts of violence. Once again, it is wrong to think most of the harm that comes to women in those normal circumstances. Ful…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 06:04 PM

The "lost job" event is really stretching it. The vast majority of homeless is drug addiction or mental illness, with no family/friend support. Just like violence is most likely found in abnormal circumstances, individuals are more afraid of random acts. It is not normal to expect it to normal individuals and normal contexts. It is rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 05:14 PM

To make an analogy; there's a saying that you're closer to being homeless than being a billionaire, which is true but trivially so. The circumstances that get people to homelessness is usually something abnormal. Disclaimer: I don't blame the homeless for their circumstance and think we should do more, same as femicide.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 04:05 PM

Criminals usually aren't that smart and manipulation isn't really that sophisticated. The most common type of manipulation is to be a little pathetic.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/26 04:30 PM

The majority of men support feminism or equality between men and women. I don't think this is true? I don't even think a majority of women support feminism
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/26 04:04 PM

Yes, they're a minority, but they represent where things are going in the future. Why do you think this? There's no indication progressives have a mandate in any country right now.

No I don't think Genx/Boomer men took pride in their appearance, more than the men of today.

The position of employer in this analogy is infinitely less stressful, being on both sides.

There's never been a meta-study of the effects of porn that has shown an induced effect. You're catholic so you're already poisoned on this.

And I can bring up the various ways that suicide in men is the result of their actions too. In the same way you're hand-waving depression in women. But its not empathetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 03:06 PM

Wait hold on ALL women change after motherhood. Women will change after becoming mothers, this is natural.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 03:02 PM

Vast majority of suicides come from a demographic of white rural men 50-60. Is that the 'result of their own life decisions'?

Much of social advice is tailored to average men but for below, it's at best it is what it is, but at worst self righteous bullying. It's a blind spot for progressives.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 08:41 PM

You're agreeing with me, weirdos don't have a demographic because they are universally disliked. Self-improvement is akin to 'be normal' but they aren't.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 08:36 PM

That doesn't mean that Renee Good isn't partially responsible for her own death. Do I have to spell it out? I don't really care about this, or think this is true. This is a rapist analogy.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 07:14 PM

There's no demographic of women that is interested in the type of man you're talking about. Self-improvement comes off as acting more normal, even in subcultures, but they aren't normal. Unfortunately, there's no solution for those men, but luck.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 07:07 PM

Given that it was independently reviewed that the third shot was the fatal one from the driver side door, it appears it was really easily avoidable by having stricter standards for ICE agents. I suppose you can have your case for arguing its safe for federal officers to murder civilians, hope its not you next.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 06:19 PM

Historical materialism is a well known concept
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 03:01 PM

How are men being Radicalized when they havent changed much at all? This implies what it means to be conservative/liberal is an unchanging set of norms and ideals.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 02:58 PM

Is "blocking federal agents" a crime punishable by death? Sounds like you're arguing it is, FAFO and all that.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:04 PM

This also bares out in how the relationship tends to 'switch up' on women, because attracting women is an active process. Men becoming content in their being is not attractive, because it's passive

4/5 right here
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/25 08:26 PM

Maturity isn’t measured by hobbies. This isn't really true. You should really have one athletic thing and one creative thing in your life besides your consumer habits. Even the video games you play should in fact give you something to talk about. There's a difference in playing something like Death Stranding, Beyond Citadel or Signalis and talking about them, than playing idk Arc Raiders or some slop. At some point your taste does reflect your: values, responsibilities, character, and how someon…
