There is a difference. Male circumcision can barely be called mutilation. It's a small piece of skin. The penis is still intact and functional. FMG tends to involve deeper and more damaging work

It's a piece of skin. The Jewish law even says do it on the eighth day. On the eighth day after birth, the body is flooded with Vitamin K which helps with healing. It's a very minor, almost negligible thing, done in the most humane way possible

So many family decisions aren't made based on what's best for the kids or what's best long term, it's "how does this benefit me?" Even the choice to have children is often based on selfish motives. No, because FGM sounds much, much worse. I looked it up just now and just an overview is worse than circumcision. Nope. You are putting words in my mouth. You have yet to explain how a little extra skin being taken off is mutilation. You haven't explained how it's even comparable to actual removal of external organs like in FGM.
