Ah. Well, I did say 'I think' so I was just speculating anyway. My bad.

I think a lot of those dudes also make the assumption that because they're often into age gaps going the descending direction (older men younger women), that they assume that most women must be into the inverse bc, idk, some silly "women are always mens exact opposite' type shit

Ha! If that's the case then hooooo boy did Mother Nature sure give me a big ol' : "fuck you bruh, NOPE for you! Haha, anomaly!" on THAT particular evolutionary perk. What'd I ever do to her anyway? 😅 Cold-blooded😮‍💨🤣😝 and we all know what cold does...

I've had a few partners ask me to choke them or pull their hair, and every time I never really wanted to but they really really were demanding so I would do it, 0but would very very much "pull my punches" so to speak, which actually irritated them, so I'd try again but I just couldn't make it resl enough. I just simply don't like causing people pain, even when its requested... its unnatural and uncomfortable for me 🤕😮‍💨

My mom used to take my sister and I to the library one night each week, and I quite clearly remember the artwork on those covers lmao... I swear it's the same artist for EVERY paperback romance novel of the 80s 90s and possibly 00s) And 8 / 9 yr old me would casually wander off from Mom and nervously speed walk past the revolving display rack they were all on, getting a solid glance at the cover before I scampered off, convinced I kept getting away with the crime of the century by sneaking a pee…

As that exact same type, and getting into my mid 40s (dunno how old you are but guessing at least somewhat younger), I regret to inform you that, yes, more often than you'd like. It sucks but I'd rather not have to pretend to be a douchebag so.... 🤷‍♂️ ( I think a posing douchebag sounds even worse than an authentic one TBH lol)

Agreed. Knowing that a certain type is certainly out there somewhere often feels like little comfort when the ones who keep crossing ur path are the ones who need the fundamentals of boundaries and consent spelled out!, and with each attempt it gets a little more exhausting and frustrating. Ive stepped back from it all for very similar reasons, 'until further notice ' type shit.

Right on! That's a great way to go about meeting ppl, honestly. A romantic rejection doesn't have to be a total loss socially, agreed!

Yeah you didn't really put any qualifiers on the fact you felt uncomfortable. Likely a simple oversight tho, easy thing to leave out accidentally. 🙂 I was actually wanting to ask what it was that made you feel that way, as I've been called creepy after a few interactions a someone (overheard it being said) and in my eyes I was just acting normal. This left me ignorant as to what I was doing that was off putting, and thus potentially repeating the thing who knows how many times after without know…

And they've managed to shape the narrative into one where theyre the protagonist and men are the antagonist of this Story of Now we all are living. So it's an uphill battle for us now because not only do we need to be listened to, we need to be heard in the first place and not dismissed out of hand.

Yeah, i joined the Men's Rights subreddit, just to be able to see what kind of stuff was being posted and what all the hubbub was about , and I got auto-banned from several TOTALLY unrelated random-ass subreddits within minutes of it. One of them , i remember specifically, was "TrueOffMyChest" . Wtf kind of Kafkaesque thought-crime suppressive bullshit is that? Can't so much as* join* a subreddit thats deemed verboten? So I actually was influenced by this a bit to see "their side" as the suspect…

Great news for you, im not! So you can breathe easy! Dont worry. To say im "comparing" them insofar as to imply im saying they are EXACT equivalents is missinng the point of what i was saying. Im simply relating to it with my own experience to a similar issue, im not equating the two things. I know the differences. But there are similarities, i stand by that. By the way, its still hateful, its coming from a place of malice and indifference to the suffering and exploitation of vulnerable men and …

As someone who has been down the rabbit hole of "humiliation-based kinks" for far too long (only recently have I really turned the corner on that shit, might post about it later), it is both heartbreaking soulcrushing and INFURIATING what gets said to men in that sort of content. Highly dangerous stuff. At best reckless/negligent, and at worst downright malicious. Im all for freedom of speech, and an individual's right to be into whatever they want sexually as long as its legal and not harmful t…

'And the fact that you are so threatened by it makes me think you've got skeletons to hide" This is wild logic. "You feel threatened and I think ifs suspicious and implies to me that youve done secret bad things." I hope you never get chosen for a jury, man.

"No your take is that men should reflect their own behaviours and change for the better. Which is just sad" Is this simply a reframing of what they asserted in their comments, or is this you saying (in essence) "you say you feel this way, but I say you dont and you ACTUALLY feel this way about it because I know what you think and what drives you better than you do"? Because i saw nothing they said that supports this interpretation of their "actual " beliefs. Just you refusing to accept the only …

Bingo. AND (and this is heavy), we are the ONLY marginalized group that a person can become a member of instantaneously, unexpectedly and completely without their consent or willing participation . Car accidents, skiing accidents, etc, all happen in spite the sincere desire of those involved to avoid them. And all of a sudden they have joined our ranks.... And then, for many, if they had been dismissive of us or ableist in their previous life, they now have that to reckon with the tragically poe…

Just the other day i was talking to a girl on Snapchat who , upon seeing ny pic, told me I looked like Epstein (i really dont though, aside from my hair color which started greying at age 24ish) and then used that as a springboard to start lobbing pretty graphic and grossly specific accusations of "p*do" at me, including that i must be "havin a private island" where I do it all. Mind you she was in her mid 20s saying all this to me. Like, even if it was his fuckin doppelganger, that's not my fau…

Id also point out how, as is too often the case, "disabled ppl" are left out of the discussion ( in the posted article, I mean). They named 6 specific different protected classes, but left disability to be lumped in with the "other groups" bit. Six. I dont think it was maliciously intentional, but its very indicative of what disabled people know ALL to well to be true. In those sorts of conversations and classifications we are more often than not overlooked, even in supposedly inclusion-supporti…

Its like everything has to be a zero sum game for ppl to be able to engage with it as a concept. Men have struggles. Women have struggles. They are both valid and both sets of issues need to be improved on and, ideally, remedied completely. This competitive nonsense ppl frame things in, its Ricky Bobby shit. "If you ain't first, youre last." But reality isnt "male or female" in that way. In fact, reality is very much non-binary. Their heads might explode if you say that last part 😅🤣😂

Do they ever actually outline what that supposed "intersectional approach" they say is the correct one actually entails? All i read was "shut up dude don't you see how much less your problems matter? Dont talk about them or at least second guess the shit out of yourself over it. Thats misguided and incorrect. We have the correct approach and one day, we might even tell you what it is. But you CAN damn sure know what it ISNT! We'll make sure of that!"

Ok. So what does that actually meaningfully change about the overall point though? Maybe thats not the assertion you were making, but I mean, ok.... women attempt more, men succeed at it more, where does that distinction leave us? What fundamentally changes based on that distinction? Not trying to call you out or say youre wrong, but I hear this often as a response to the statistics on male suicides and it just comes off to me as, at best, minimizing or even a bit dismissive of it as a problem. …

Its SO blatantly obvious avoidance of a legitimate and VERY civil challenging of a belief they hold, all in the face of an argument they know they have nothing to refute with. Its like so many GOP and MAGA pricks who just outright WONT respond to a valid and straightforward question where the only reasonable answer is also highly inconvenient to their public facing identity. It makes me think of a scene from Liar Liar, Jim Carrey's lawyer character objects to the playing of an audio recording th…

Was glad to read this. I didn't know this was AOC and it definitely makes see her in a slightly different light. I've already been pretty frustrated with these sort of double standards that I see with so many on the Left, of which I am typically in nearly 100% solidarity with on any issue. And worse is that one of our biggest strengths against the Right would be to really lay plain and point out the CONSTANT glaring double standards they brazenly display daily, but if we don't deal with the doub…

I think its hard to say, because how many assaults go unreported? And how many unreported incidents arent even part of THAT aspect of the statistics? I think this meabs there's much closer to parity on male victims / female victims than is given credit.

I used to be shemefully into JOI type of porn, particularly the humiliation variety... and its ROUGH. I have a lot of issues with low sense of self worth and poor self image, and the true reason for it is my visible congenital disability l, for which I've suffered tons of abuse over since childhood. So I was drawn to this stuff, thinking i "deserved" it and validating my feelings about myself by imagining it was actually being directed at me. I reached a point where all it did was make me angry,…
