Sounds like you’re gonna have some heavy lifting to do brother. Stay strong and be that person your kids are going to need, showing them how to handle a tough situation with dignity and grace. Best of luck, hope it goes as smoothly as it can

We may never know for sure, but it’s more than likely they will. Yeah that anger fuel thing is a dangerous game b/c it doesn’t lead anywhere productive in high doses, but a little dab of it can be what you need to keep pressing forward for yourself…

For realz. Once they start getting that fantasy attention from someone they don’t have to actually navigate through the daily tribulations of real life with (kids, home ownership, etc.), they can’t keep it in their pants & it’s all over but the shouting… Found out my stbx is leaving for a married guy she met online who she sexted w/ everyday for like years while she was “working from home…” of course they eventually started meeting up in person. It’s all the same shit over & over again on here

I am in that exact situation, and damn dude that is strong. I may actually have to steal that to use on her sometime.

Sounds fishy, where did that $100k in debt go to? That sounds like the crux of the matter to me… if not shopping or drugs (you did say she od on sleeping pills…) did it supplement normal household expenses, or just vanish?

Eventually you have to tell him to keep an eye on her, but the last thing to need right now if for her to be unemployed so you have to wait after until you have your shit settled, which could be a while…

Sounds like it’s a joint account, you have every right to access the statements that she does.

Really don’t have enough details to give sound advice on the investigator. Do you suspect malfeasance or just poor management? If she was cheating and spending money on the affair/AP then for sure yes that’s a slam dunk. If she just sucked w/ money & you never really paid attention, probably not worth it. How much debt debt does she have & you have together?

Never not a one. That’s why I asked if she was a bot… not sure what the Russians would have to gain from making lonely men feel better on a Reddit divorce forum, but it wouldn’t be any more shocking

Are you a bot? Or just someone with too much time on your hands? Either way, thank you for the kind words. I needed to hear it 😂

Ok since you’re the resident expert on masculinity, what do we all need to do better to give women those tingles?… grow a beard & buy more guns?

Do a little something with him at your place and go early morning to watch him. Bring a box of donuts as a peace offering. Don’t engage with her & get out as soon as possible. She won’t want to fight in front of your kid on Christmas morning. Maybe it’s an amicable gesture by her

It’s not about who lives in the house, it’s about the equity in the house. Makes zero difference if she wants you out, or whatever. Let your lawyer guide you. He can draw up an agreement to have her sign and then you can probably move out, once she acknowledges your equal right to the marital property. Do not just abandon the house willingly, you will absolutely get f*ed on the money

Doest matter what should or shouldn’t have been expected. If it’s over, it’s over. Right now you need to break the cycle of emotions & find some feel good somewhere. If you can, get out of Dodge for a bit. Try to get friends to go out for a night while people have time off over the Holidays. Visit a buddy out of town, or try to find something to do on NYE & get a room close by so you can get after it. Anything to get out of your head for a little bit, you’ll feel slightly better once you do, for…

True enough, but for me the MIL & I were actually alright. We respected each other (for the most part) & occasionally had some philosophical talks. I knew her for a decade before she went that route, and Methodists aren’t exactly hellfire & brimstone… It was her daughter that obviously ended up having a problem with me Lol! I’m actually going to miss the rest of her family, had some good times with them.

Right! Not for me, she started finding “religion” halfway through our marriage after her mother quit her job at the university we met at and “answered her lifelong calling” to become a Methodist minister… Then she begrudged me because I didn’t want to head down that road with her. All agnostic here, brotha. I’ll find my promiscuous women the old fashioned way, out in the bars 🤣

He was probably just too busy picking out his new YZ’s…. #preachersinsneakers Lol!

Ahhh yes… the Cheating Churchgoer. One of my favorite types of scumbag! My stbxw actually had the nerve to tell me that religion was one of the things her & AP were talking about when they were texting back & forth all the time. In between the clips of them having sex & commenting on it, I guess 🤣🤣🤣 SMDH

Yes this. Slow play it with a plan. Document everything you’re doing on a daily basis. Based on what you said, 50/50 custody shouldn’t be an issue. Lack of contribution on her part can affect spousal support. You say she has a job, right. With a good lawyer you might be able to negotiate keeping the house, especially if she can’t afford it without you. Do not leave voluntarily, see what can be negotiated/mediated in the divorce process. Based on what I read on here, seems like as long as there’s…

A good attorney might be able to do some horse trading with regard to the equity in the house vs support payments. Try to keep it as amicable as possible with her, if she drags you in front of the judge it probably won’t be great

Probably sage advice. I never had “the talk”, I was served papers via certified mail while stbxw was standing right next to me… good times

Yeah, you just have to be there in the same place at the same time. Hating that b to the end of the earth doesn’t change the fact that you need to be there for your kid. You can be reasonable, but tell her okay but afterwards it’s dad time, don’t play games.

They justify the cheating to themselves as somehow not being their fault. You may want & deserve an apology, but don’t hold your breath b/c it probably ain’t coming. Better trying to stop thinking about it & move one. Don’t let her have any influence on your mood or psyche whatsoever. She definitely doesn’t deserve that. (I know, sounds great but difficult to accomplish in real life). Might be time to start looking for true dating relationship, either with your female friend or someone else. Get…

I also believed that my wife wasn’t all that much into sex. Then I found out about the sexting & ultimately physical affair she was having with a married guy. She had filed for divorce a few months prior to me finding out after 13 years of marriage under the pretense that we were drifting apart & didn’t feel connected anymore. Looking back maybe it was to absolve herself from the cheating, although she has yet to show an ounce of remorse… I swear, they must all receive the same newsletter in the…
