Good to see that the cameraman was trying to stick to fight filming protocols; the scene would have benefitted from the knockout being entirely out of frame instead of barely visible, and the timing on the pan to ground could have been better to miss the woman crumpling, but at least the initial blow was obscured by an inexplicable zoom, and the shot was sufficiently shaky overall.

Yeah, that seems like a good place to start. It'd at least make the lenders assume some risk when giving loans.

Which bill are you referring to?

Unfortunately, there is no good solution, that genie has been out of the bottle for decades at this point. Ideally we would phase out all FAFSA student loans so that the price would be forced back down, but I don't see that ever happening. What we most certainly should not do is tax people who were responsible with their education choices to pay down the debts of those who weren't while leaving the broken system in place; it's the worst of all worlds and a very expensive can to kick a few years …

You're right, they're not identical, that's why there's a different word. What I said was that it's Marxism applied with identities instead of classes. It's the same underlying framework, just with different variables. Intersectionality still frames everything in terms of power dynamics and opression, only with black and white or gay and straight or trans and cis in place of bourgeois and proletarian.

Yeah, that's not even my alma mater. I really don't know why he singled out the Liberty debate team in particular in his comment.

Was that your best stab at an insult? C'mon, you can be more creative than that. If you're going to insult me, at least give me something more witty than "Bible college nerd no have sex".

Intersectional is essentially a synonym for Marxist. It basically applies Marxism to things like sex, race, etc. instead of economic class; an intersectional feminist is a feminist who also brings race, sexual orientation, etc. into their accusations of opression. Put another way, it means that she's a cult member with an insane, bigoted, authoritarian ideology.

If you're trying to sell this one, you're not "a Jehovah's Witness", you're "one of Jehovah's witnesses". It's a subtle enough destination, sure, but that's the kind of thing that will get your bluff called by anyone familiar with the group.

Glitter can seriously and permanently mess up your eyes if it gets in them. Throwing it in someone's face (not sure whether that happened here) can actually do a lot of harm, on top of the arts and crafts herpes.

I'm thinking Dave's Gormet Ghost Pepper sauce. If you take a leak after handling that stuff without surgery-prep levels of hand washing, your pecker will end up stinging for minutes on end, so I figure a direct application would have the recipient begging for the sweet embrace of death. It's also delicious despite probably qualifying as a chemical weapon.

Video games are how I keep in touch with a decent chunk of my friends and family (both sexes, mind you). I call my mom and my grandma regularly, but for pretty much anyone else who doesn't live in my city it's better to catch up over a game.

If it is the entire model, then the model is woefully incomplete. Obviously, the human body obeys the laws of thermodynamics, same as anything else, but boiling the system down to energy in, energy out without accounting for the many things which affect both sides of that equation makes it next to useless as a weight loss strategy. Your body does not expend a consistent ammount of energy, adapts to changes in diet, and can not always access a given energy source effectively. Add in the ways that…

CICO is only part of the physical picture. 1000 calories of carbs will have a very different effect on your body, particularly the endocrine system, than 1000 calories of fat. The timing of when you eat also has significant effects; eating one meal in a day with no snacks will have different effects than spreading the exact same food throughout the day. Focusing on CICO is putting the cart before the horse in a lot of ways; your body is pretty good at regulating how much you eat depending on wha…

A direct incentive of $3800 to identify as a woman? When gender is something you can now change at the drop of a hat? If this were actually done, the US would suddenly find that a good 30% of the population is trans for as long as it takes the check to clear.

Makes sense, he was probably nervous about not getting the job because of his answer. Polygraphs are, at best, simply a proxy for how nervous you are giving a response, and an honest answer to a tough question will make you nervous.

It was that way in many states pre-NMDAA. In Colorado (IIRC) you could buy 3.2 ABV beer at 18, and everything else at 21. There were even "3.2 bars" around colleges that only stocked 3.2 beer for that clientele.

The easiest way to tell if someone is short is if they include a fraction in their height. No one would ever say "I'm 6'2 and 3/4""

The death penalty always takes years and years between the charges being brought and the execution. There is a LOT of lawyering that has to happen before the sentance is carried out.

Swearing in India involves more family than it does in English-native countries. Where we would say "fuck you" or "go fuck yourself", they tend to go for things like "I'll fuck your mother! I'll fuck your whole family!". If you ever want to hear some creative swearing, piss off the next scammer that cold calls you.

I don't get the logic here. The first hit? Sure, she probably assumed he wasn't going to hit her. The second one? Maybe she thought she could still intimidate him with the social norm. What gets me is the third hit: at this point she knows full well that he will hit back, and still squares back up.

Cetacians? You mean people actually believe that there are massive air-breathing mammals in the middle ocean which evolved from an overgrown badger that wanted to be a crocodile? Likely story. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

Say what you will about the hardware and UI/UX, but iOS is very secure. It's built on the same Darwin core as MacOS, and is even more locked down, so it is not vulnerable to the vast majority of malware. Android is also secure, but iOS gets a slight edge here because Apple doesn't have to wait months for OEMs to roll out security updates (if OEMs even bother on a year old phone) like Google does.

The problem is that the mob of postmodernists far outnumber actual trans people (and probably gay people as well). There are many trans people with a good head on their shoulders, Blaire White for example, but there are more than enough insane social justice types to out-shout them. I feel bad for gay and trans people; there is a large group of radical ideologs presuming to speak for them, and people assume that the mob is representative of how they all think.

Fair, I'd say it's worth adding to the ciriculum. All the budgeting I got in school was how to balance a checkbook in 5th grade (which was obsolete by the time I would have needed it). I just don't think that a school can instill the habits that actually make budgets work. While we're dreaming about tax reform and replacing income tax, can we also go return-free? The IRS already knows full well how much money I made in 2019, and the state wouldn't reject my return because of a typo on my license…

I don't think this is one schools can realistically solve. It's easy to learn how to budget, and easy to make a budget. Most people at least understand the basics. The hard part is getting the habits and discipline to stick to that budget, and that kind of stuff really has to come from the parents.

As much as I would love to see her get the charge for full blown second degree murder, it is incredibly important that courts maintain the presumption of innocence until sufficient evidence has been presented. The way he phrased that makes me think that he gave her the maximum he could considering the strength of the evidence; in this case it was impossible to establish intent. It's better to let 10 guilty people go free than to punish 1 innocent person, as much as it can be hard to stomach.

I don't believe the statement to be hyperbolic because communism has a truly staggering death toll under its belt. In terms of real-world outcomes, it's hard to find an ideology worse than communism, though there are a couple others in the same ballpark. Whenever communism is attempted, regardless of intentions, people suffer and die in droves. Side note, we Americans have been largely distrusting of powerful government since the Revolutionary War. The farse in congress over the emergency relief…

Of course the USSR wasn't doing it by the books. No country ever has or ever will do "real communism". It isn't possible to do "real communism" in the real world. That said, every single country that has ever attempted to bring communism about has faced similar, disasterous outcomes. In the communist view, this is basically the process to achieve communism: The proletariat rise up and seize the means of production. The state becomes socialist to enable the transition to communism. The state is p…

Your chart must be taking other factors than usage into account (gang/cartel violence, contaminated products, etc), otherwise many of those numbers don't make sense. There is absolutely no other way that cannibus ends up ranked more harmful than benzos or ketamine. You can't OD on cannibus, and it doesn't wreck your liver. The only real risk with Marijuana is the odd DUI, and even then that's less frequent and generally less severe than an alcohol DUI. This chart is questionable at best.

It's pretty damn close. A 23 year old brain is not fully developed, but it's within 3 years and you get diminishing returns toward the end. 18 year olds are idiots, but by 23 you really don't have much of an excuse.

Last I heard it's just homo sapiens. The homo sapiens sapiens designation was used when it was unclear if Neanderthal was a separate species or a sapiens subspecies. Now that we have the Neanderthal genome, we can say that they were definitely a sister species to ours rather than a subspecies of sapiens.

Stabilizing this one makes it worse because of the Instagram app surrounding the video. The real person to kill here is whoever recorded their screen instead of obtaining the video properly.
