I don't know. Maybe that was when he was younger when all kids are dicks. From the stories I've heard, he loved his mother dearly. When he heard she died, he went speeding down the road to his parents' house. A cop stopped him, saw him blubbering saying his mom died. The cop recognized him and led the way with his lights on to clear traffic. This is what I remember at least.
