No regrets honestly but I think it would have helped me to not entertain the glimmer of hope that she was feeding me. Maybe trying to hang onto it for longer than necessary honestly did more damage and resentment to me if anything. I dated afterwards and of course she had issue, but she was already with the person she essentially left me for. We didn’t do lawyers, we just filed and got it over with. I’m just glad it’s over with

I wouldn’t. Definitely use this time to lean into you however you can. If she’s detached as she seems, she won’t do anything but heighten your emotional state you’re already in. I’m a year out of a marriage and I know all about that back and forth and wanting to have some type of conversation but it’s usually not productive or well natured on the opposite end. At the most I’d maybe have a conversation about the reason for leaving and next steps but I wouldn’t bank on reconciliation just yet or a…

Sorry to hear. She definitely knows about the anniversary and it sounds like she made a pretty blatant disconnect. Not sure the backstory or reasons she may have left, etc but I would do something with friends or for yourself to keep your mind occupied so you don’t have that idle in your head when the anniversary comes up.

My ex wife did the same, had a change of sexual preference that caused us to not have any intimacy/closeness which eventually caused her to begin seeing a woman and calling for a divorce and be this free bird that she wants to be. Now months later and papers signed, she’s throwing tantrums every time she can, especially after hearing that I’ve gone on a couple dates with someone. That’s had her pretty infuriated. I think the best thing is to give her the space to process it herself and not let h…

Totally agree. My ex does this every time we get into the slightest disagreement, looking for social media validation and it’s to the point her family even looks at her like wtf are you doing. That silence and lack of response does wonders though, they can only argue with themselves for so long. So yeah block the nonsense and let anyone close to you to not send you screenshots or updates on any of it to contain your own peace

My wife pretty much decided that she was gay and did this whole ordeal of trying to make that work somehow in an open relationship sense but that didn’t fix anything and she ended up dating a woman and wanting to divorce. The entire process was very emotionally taxing but once papers were signed, I’m not as bothered and I was visibly moving on there was this rush of empathy all of a sudden followed by anger that she didn’t have me how she wanted anymore. I assume that relationship didn’t work ou…

Yeahhhhh toxicity from women during a divorce process is pretty much expected . Especially if you check them on areas they’re falling short or staying above their bs, it’s pretty much a right of passage for them to go low and bounce their toxic thoughts to their echo chamber. But let us do that and we’ll never hear the end of it.

Yeah we’ve had that talk and that led to the conclusion that she was unable to continue if she wasn’t able to be with women. And that there was no way around that. But the idea of an asexual marriage came up with her and that made me feel really resentful. I think she understands what is being lost, but wishes I wasn’t taking it as hard as I am

Yeah that’s where I draw my happiness from heavily rn. Depressed otherwise but it’s all a process. Thanks for that

We have a daughter together, so not necessarily a clean break. Kinda makes it hard to get that distance I need to recover, but that’s what I’m trying to work on is keeping my thoughts at bay

I’m telling myself this as well. Nothing we can do to get the old versions back. Often, they resent that part of themselves anyway and intentionally push it back. Especially if they know that you’re longing for that. Smh

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
