Every time you think "She's out of my league" it's you disqualifying yourself. Let her make that decision. It's fucking terrifying at first, but that feeling goes away.

Its not just programming. Peoples eyes glaze over whenever I "talk shop" about what I do. This can be programming to day trading to woodworking. Instead I find how they can relate, so I'll talk cool projects and apps. This gives them a chance to engage back with the conversation. I'm on my mobile, so sorry for any typos.

A real girl in bed is worth two potential girls in his head. Go and seduce away. It's not like all those potential girls will swoop in and block you while you are flirting with him. You also said that you don't want to form a relationship, which puts things in your favor over those girls that do want something more. should I pretend that he doesn't have these other females in his life? Should I ignore the fact that he may have many other potential sexual partners and just know that I have the ab…

FWIW, there's a selection bias at work here. We are all here because we were/are pretty bad with women and we did a search. People who are decent or experienced with women likely never look up this stuff in the first place, thus they aren't here.

He just started writing his journal. Searched for this post so he could add it to his habit building routine. The reason he is starting his journal is he found that some form of accountability and metrics have worked in other areas of his life, like the gym. If you are into building habits, he's using HabitRPG to track habits he is trying to break or build.

Might I direct you to /r/highseddit? It's specifically targeted questions and game for high schoolers.

Warning: I'm going to shit all over your post and you will be mad about it. But if you really want to improve, you will swallow this bitter medicine and start on the road to actually becoming attractive. I'm not entitled Yes you are. This whole post is dripping with resentment because things aren't going your way. Does that upset you? It will because we aren't going to take your bullshit. I hate to rain on your pity parade, but that's life. Nobody is going to hand you the keys to riches or women…

How would you act if somebody yelled at you for opening a door? How you react is a good litmus test. A "Nice" guy gets butthurt and sours his mood. He likely won't be nice for a while after. He lets what others do and think undermine his confidence and altruism, and it shows in his attitude and reaction. A genuine nice guy brushes it off. Maybe they had a bad morning or a nasty client. The genuine nice guy understands that people can be upset and accidentally take it out on people. The other per…

Want one that's cornier than the Midwest? "A man's wit is only as sharp as he dresses."

Can you remember the last conversation around you before you boarded the train? Can you recall who the speakers were? People don't care about the conversations around them. They might listen because they're bored, but there is an enormous social pressure to not intervene. You know this. However, you can't appreciate it until you have that conversation despite people around you. After a couple of times it stops being weird.

I get these huge honkers on my lower back all the time. It runs in the family. It's never come up, even when I had a girl massaging my back with coconut oil. That said, they are a literal pain in the ass. DON'T SQUEEZE THEM! Go to a doctor or dermatologist and get a prescription for some phosphate lotion and follow their instructions. After a week, most of the big ones on my back go away.

You should read up on the Kavorka Man, specifically the Real Life section. Henry Kissinger, a rather fuckugly dude, said: "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac."

I use it as well. In Models parlance, I've found using "Date" is strongly polarizing. I've either had lots of enthusiasm or the conversation quickly broke down. Either way, we both knew where each other stood and made moves from there.

I also found after work I was too tired to do much that is taxing. Reading for pleasure is my weekday outlet when I have some quiet moments. On the weekends I find woodworking therapeutic after a week of work. I usually have a project that takes me multiple weekends to complete, but I become engrossed in the whole designing and building process. At work, is there something you want to build or improve? Maybe you are passionate about a particular project and itching to try it. See if you can conv…

The Game (yeah, that one) - When I was getting started, reading The Game propelled me by showing that relationships and attraction can be learned. Blink by Gladwell and Influence by Cialdini - Learning why we do what we do was key in changing my behavior for the better, as well as understanding how others interacted with me.

If you think this is a coincidence, here's another guy who has the same experience. He talks about running a business and career advice for programmers, but this quote is relevant. Actual grooming is at least moderately important, too, because people are hilariously easy to hack by expedients such as dressing appropriately for the situation, maintaining a professional appearance, speaking in a confident tone of voice, etc. Your business suit will probably cost about as much as a computer monitor…

Try a good button up, some nice jeans, shoes, and a sports coat. It's casual enough for most situations (rolled up sleaves), and instantly becomes reasonably dressy.

She has hopes, dreams, tragedies and struggles. More than a book, people have a whole library of stories both happy and sad, boring and exciting. We all have some history that, if made into a movie, would win Oscars. To tap this, you have to cultivate a genuine curiosity for people. If you only want to "get to know" hot women, then your conversations will be as shallow as you are. How do you develop an interest in people? Like most of this subreddit, it's a little information and a lot of practi…

Don't call yourself a programmer. He talks about business value and economics (it is about career development), but the same ideas can be used when talking to women. Imagine a car mechanic. I bet you just saw some guy dressed in greasy oil stained blue coveralls. He could be working on Rolls Royces. SHE could easily not be a man. You get the point. Good or bad, there's a particular stereotype attached to Computer Programmer. You have to break the mental stereotype. "I work on vintage foreign car…

Every bad decision is a funny story in the making. We all make mistakes we regret, then we laugh them off as we get older. If it makes you feel better, I did a strip show with my buddy to a few women waaaay (30+ years) older than us. He went and banged one and I got a blowjob. I regretted it the next day, but we laughed about it later. If you still feel bad, think about it like this...

It's important to remember that women put a lot less weight on looks. Here's a chart from the OKCupid founder showing what age people find the opposite sex attractive, by age. The OKC blog is chock full of these tidbits as well. Don't put as much emphasis on your looks. Instead think about presentation. This will include how you dress, how you stand, conversation, interests, passions, humor, etc. Women want the whole package if they can get it, and 'attractiveness' is only one attribute. Don't h…

Confidence (but not an Asshole's false confidence) There isn't a difference between the Nice Guy and the Asshole. Both are opposing faces of the insecurity coin. A Nice Guy acts that way to protects his ego from being hurt by not taking the risk of being direct and possibly rejected. The Asshole creates a facade of bravado, but when they are rejected they are quick to throw out Bitch or Whore or some other slam to deflect the rejection from their egos. Neither are being honest with themselves, a…

Pardon me, I'm going to muse on some philosophy for what 'Game' means to me. This will include some sports analogies and whimsical notions. Does "game" exist? Yes, but not IMHO what you frame it as. The Game exists as a set of rules. These rules form the framework of all human interaction. Some of these rules come from the culture around us, from social norms to government laws. Others come from specific circumstances or places. Some of these rules change depending on where you are. One importan…
