Agreed. If you say “yes” the life you worked so hard to build after her, will be messed up. She will cause a lot of damage again.

There’s no alternative than going through the courts. Courts simply don’t allow US born children especially to leave the country without the permission of both parents unless you have 100% custody. And that’s not easy to get without spending a ridiculous amount of money to prove the other parent is incompetent.

A couple of weeks ago I attended an 60 years anniversary. Not the most perfect couple but they reached a stage in which their love became unbreakable. So yes, it is possible. But I think the problem nowadays is that we as a society have become too independent and self-sufficient. There’s no need to work to fix a marriage when challenges arise when people feel that is so much easier to just pack and go.

I went through something very similar with the mother of my kids. Remember this, God does not break up a marriage and let someone suffer so the other party can live a happy life with someone else. She found an excuse to justify her behavior just like my ex did. Fast forward to today, I’m very happy with someone that is infinitely better for my soul and heart than she was, while she keeps bringing it up how unhappy she is sometimes and thinks about getting a divorce from the guy “God wanted her t…

There’s a lot going on here. I think you both should go to individual counseling first and then couples counseling if the end goal is to salvage the marriage. We all want what is best for our kids. The reality is that in the end the kids will be fine. But what about you? Are you going to be fine?

Hang in there brother. I promise you this will pass. We don’t know when. But it will pass. This is the hardest period. There’s nothing I can say that will bring much conform. But go out. Go get some food. Go to the gym. And yes, don’t beg. You tried. You don’t want to go back to someone who’s willing to break your heart in a million pieces

I’m also in AZ and I went through a similar situation. After hearing so many times that it would be best to split after every stupid and meaningless argument that she would escalate instead of being racional and mature, I decided that I had enough. Yeah, the kids are a big thing, but you know what, they are old enough to know who their daddy is and will always be a part of you. There’s only so much abuse we can take

I’m sorry you have gone through so much pain and heartbreak. You are right. Not everyone is a hero. Not everyone is a good guy. More often than not, the children of broken homes, are the victims. No one here knows everyone’s story. Hardly anyone posts the truth about themselves in the internet. Specially on Reddit. We cannot tell who’s telling the truth and who’s not. Is up to each individual be the best version of themselves.

I promise you, your son will see things with his own eyes. My sons were in another state for two years and they were much younger than yours. Saw them in person every 6 months for two years. Women want to keep you around and do whatever you want. She thinks you will be her “husband” forever even after divorce. Do not live miserably. Many of us had to make that hard decision. I promise you in the end everything is going to be fine. The kids will be fine as long you stay in their lives.
/r/Divorce_Men18/09/25 02:32 PM

Think this way. For every super model out there, there is a guy who got tired of her shit. She’s still the same woman that divorced you. The mom of my kids also had a glow up and guess what. She not only misses me and even suggested we sleep together (she remarried) because I’m still “technically her husband”, she’s more than nuts than ever. You’re not missing out on anything

My ex wife continued to see me as her “second husband” for as long as I was single. If she goes away for good and never shows up again, are you going to be okay with that? If you are, tell her you don’t want her to come over again. There will be consequences though because your children really like that dynamic. Or if you start dating and want to be your date over as it gets more serious she will start to step away. I don’t know. If you do not plan to see anyone then it’s not that bad. But it’s your place and you shouldn’t have to host when you don’t want to.

I was alway from my kids for two years after my 1st left me. Hardest time of my life and they were sooo young. She left for another man. So when my second realized she “won” me and keeping a marriage no longer matter, I developed that mindset

Here’s my advice to you. Unless you have a legal document stating that you don’t need to pay child support, the court can tell you that you are going to pay child support. Why? Because the moment she turns on you at any point, even after your son turned 18, she can tell the court that you didn’t pay child support. This needs to be very clear in the divorce decree

I have a cousin that her husband decided to stay with her after she got pregnant by another man. Let me tell you something, the dynamics are NOT the same as if the child was his. As a matter of fact, the dad is involved with his child. My cousin’s husband is having a hard time and will never get over this. The child will ALWAYS be a reminder of their rough times. He doesn’t even treat the child as one of his. So yeah. RUN!!!

Married for 5. Financially I’m actually doing much better than being with a woman that started making 3 times more who demanded I paid for 1/2 of everything to sustain her irresponsible lifestyle. Put money in the hands of a woman and most will change completely for the worse

You have to remember one thing though. Reddit is full of feminists and women that subscribes to a very selfish ideology. Women of Reddit do NOT reflect the reality out there. In the end you need to make sure 100% who your parter is and who you are. You have to also remember that women is heavily influenced by other women. Women desire what they don’t have. Here’s the thing. Starting a new marriage with a blended family is hard enough. We need time to build a home in which everyone is comfortable and feeling loved under the same roof. That’s already hard enough. Adding a new child will only complicate things. Maybe if I was in my 30s that could have worked after the adjustment and honeymoon period. But in my 40s as much as I love this woman like I’ve never loved before, it’s too much. The nice thing is that she also agrees

Hang in there brother. It’s so hard to believe that the women we once thought the world of could get so crazy and vindictive. Hang in there friend. I went through that too and now I’m with someone who’s day and night from my ex. Never, never take for granted someone who actually enjoys and wants to be with you, and values you.

I was also looking for justice and instead got a slap on the face. But I am a man of God, and I believe that He will be just. Monetary and material loss can be recovered. Emotional loss, that’s a hard one. But time can heal wounds. Unfortunately we think we found a person who we can spend the rest of lives with only to realize that the moment we marry them, we signed an “agreement” with an expiration date. Ugh

That was my ex. She procrastinated and held on to it for a couple of weeks and then accused me to be the one to delay the proceedings. What a relief it is to finally sign the dammed paper.

About 3 months my divorce was finalized, my ex found out that I was dating. She lost her mind!! Through mutual friends I found out how her “trash” got picked up by someone else. She went on a rant telling everyone we know and especially my family how she “knew” or “suspected” I was cheating on her LOL This was the time I found out who truly were my friends and what family members I could trust and count on and the ones I can let go. It kills her to know I’m happy and being well taken care of by …

I have two kids from a previous relationship and they are in my life. They are teenagers now so they spend a lot of time with me. There was no way I was going to have more kids. And thank goodness I didn’t have any with my ex because she’s waaaaaay worse than my kids mom

Unfortunately the person we marry is not the same person we divorce. I already have two kids from a previous relationship so there was no way in hell I was going to have any more.

Here in AZ, the attorney sent the final dissolution on a Friday and on Monday the judge signed. It usually can take up to 10 days.

Friend, it’s time to pull the plug. Your story is almost the same exact story of mine. Your marriage as it was mine, is in life support. Only staying alive because life support machine was not turned off. I’m sorry man. But this is not how we should live our lives

It’s not hard to get 50/50 custody. Some states like mine, call it decision making. I don’t know about NY. You have to be a pretty basic parent to lose custody in most cases. Not all.

In AZ we’re not responsible for debts that are not shared.

I’m not sure if this helps. But if your name is NOT in any of her debts, you’re not obligated to pay for it. In AZ at least works like that. 50/50 for shared debts.
