Or, appealing can just be straight up false, but, you know, appealing? Your use of the word "could" is weird. Because everything could mean anything. Or not. There is no information content in there. If you mean to say "makes it more likely to be true", then you are wrong, as many others have pointed out already.

It's always been like this, though. Arguable, fathers used to be more absent when it comes to parenting than they are today. Doesn't really explain any modern development imo

Not sure why you downvote me just because my personal experience as someone who grew up in Germany doesn't align with your bar experience.

My experience (as a European) is quite different. American women in general are seen as prude, and America's as a whole somewhat uneducated. Still doesn't give Americans abroad any bonus in dating...

That's a dofferent type of conservativism

What IS a good way to have a real conversation about this with conservative women? Honest question. I do literally not know how to talk to somebody who votes against their own bodily rights without saying "that was a dumb idea, wasn't it?"
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 05:37 PM

I was giving my anecdotal experience as a counterargument. The fact is that only some women don't know. Some do. Some are into real bodybuilding bodies. Some are into real dad bodies.

Purely anecdotal, because only my personal experience, but - I've been snikky in my younger years, I had a "normal" build, and these days I'm admittedly closer to a dad bod than I would like to admit. I've never hit a gym in my life. I've also never had problems finding women who were attracted to me. Matching the other commentator: some women are into bodybuilding, and some are not.

This is the very simple and obvious answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 11:56 PM

the women they know are immature. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your point, but this argument has about the same strength as "men harassing women are not real men"
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 01:42 PM

I think most men will get to that point eventually. Depends on how you define these terms exactly, but that's on the individual I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/25 11:02 PM

What a take, and even has a lol in there! Gotcha! Except that OP forgot to include any data or reasoning that would show that women don't actually just marry the secure experienced man 😂

What are you talking about? Please read what I wrote. You need sex to reproduce. So as a species, we need to have sex to survive. But no human being has ever died for not having sex. Meaning, individuals can survive without sex. And that's true for every single human being out there.

I would probably date exactly as I do as a decently attractive man. I try to meet people in the real world, I choose based on who I find attractive (and not what reddit considers so), I value independence, honesty, humor, and kindness, and majurity. And I assume I would have similar luck, as in I don't find these people very often, but I do sometimes.maturity. No, I found that the data on that is complicated and not always conclusive. But yeah, instead of showing the data that we are supposed to look at, you can also just side track and accuse me of bad arguments...

You are claiming that you have traits that will prevent you from ever dating, yet you are unable to save some money to get a procedure done that would transform your looks to a decent median? BS. And yes, autism can have a huge effect on yohr life, and I obviously have no idea how severe your's is, but damn, dude, if you don't take control over your life and at least try to work on yourself, than you are indeed doomed. But not because of your genetics, but because of your attitude.

I'm sorry that you are in that position. But have you tried talking to a regular therapist to work on whatever it is that makes you so awkward? Or even to try to identify what that is? I'd argue universally ugly doesn't exist. Because there is variety in people and in tastes. If some was really that ugly, it has to be an extremely rare outlier case.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/25 06:47 PM
1

Being that ugly is super rare. And if your behavior is so different, it puts people off, it might be a good idea to work with somebody to find a way to be a little bit more socially accepted. A lot comes down to behavior, and that can be trained.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/25 05:58 PM
1

Almost nobody is that ugly/autistic that people are actively avoiding to even meet with them. If that happens to you, it's probably something else - personal hygiene, or rude/creepy behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/25 04:09 PM

I wasn't talking about success rates. But first you need to meet people, and that is not as hard as people make it sound. To actually be able to date any of these people is a completely different story, but that wasn't part of my comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/25 03:41 PM

It's not that much work, really. All you have to do is make sure you take part in activities that introduce you to new people of the gender you want to date. This can be friends groups, hobby circles, bars, you name it. I met far more women after college than in college (because I was in a committed relationship back then and wasn't looking).

I think you are missing two points. One is specific: MRI is not long-term reliant on helium. So helium supply is not relevant for the sustainability of healthcare. Sustainability is about the future, not about the present. The second point is more general: Affordable healthcare doesn't mean every procedure is affordable to everybody at any time. Obviously, that would be ideal, but I agree that that would probably be unsustainable. The fact is, though, that almost every western country manages to…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/25 01:17 AM
2

Everything you said is correct. But you used it as an example for limited resources. And that is not a problem with MRI, because these old machines will eventually be replaced with newer ones. Helium is not a limiting resource for MRI. Costs in general are a problem for MRI. But that doesn't mean MRI is unsustainable, it just means we only use it for special cases. That's the reason MRI is not regularly used for screening, and instead only for follow up diagnostics.

Because that's why we have the rules in place. Every single rule was introduced to reduce an issue that was present. At the beginning of cars, there were no rules, and it created problems. Just look up the history of traffic rules.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 10:07 PM
1

Free "market" in traffic: no rules, a lot of accidents. At least that's what I would argue, feel free to make am actual argument against it if you have one. Regulated traffic: what we have right now. Rules in place that everybody has to follow to reduce accidents and make traffic flow faster. Hell, even the economics of traffic are to a degree socialized right now! Roads and infrastructure is paid by tax money, regardless of how much you use it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 09:48 PM

It is quite literally an example of free market in a non-exonomic part of society. Instead, we regulate traffic, so it's not free, and that works better
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 08:09 PM
2

How do you know that different management systems are going to work better for various aspects of society. Because I gave you an example. I don't mind arguing what I think should be obvious, but you are not arguing. You're just a dumb troll at this point. Good bye.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 07:59 PM

I never said anything about personal benefits. And? And you brought it up as a counterargument even though you made that part up. There is zero reason to believe a priori that every aspect of society would be best managed as a free market The most basic one is that a free market self regulates, regulation requires resources so a free market model is the most efficient. This is factually not true. Only if you accept bankruptcies etc. But in certain areas you might not want to accept that. E.g., t…

I never said anything about personal benefits. There is zero reason to believe a priori that every aspect of society would be best managed as a free market (or every aspect being managed as a more social system). Like, none. Instead, most likely, different management systems are going to work better for various aspects of society. This has nothing to do with consistency, either. Because why restrict yourself to the two extreme points of a scale? By all likelihood, an optimum will be somewhere in between. So some aspects are probably going to be better in free market, amd some won't. So simply declaring everything has to obey the same extreme at the very least needs some explaining/arguing as to why.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 07:02 PM

Kinda only a side point, but quit the stupid MRI and helium example. Modern MRIs lose almost zero helium throughout their lifetime, meaning they only need to be filled once with a few gallons tops. And completely helium free MRI technology already exists, albeit it's not widespread yet.

Yet, pretty much every western capitalist country but the US manages to provide healthcare and food to all of their citizens. Wild, isn't it? There is no resource limitation in the US. Only a distribution issue.

So your take is we either have free market in every aspect of society, or none? That's kinda insane... Starting with the fact that the dating market is not a real market like our economy. Assume that homophobia does NOT exist in this thought experiment. Assume that there are no social/religious repercussions. Homosexuality is not shunned. In this thought experiment, gay men are allowed to marry each other, and adopt kids too, all over the world. In every country. It is as a normal as a blue sky. I feel like this is somewhat of a weird dreamland. At the very least, my girlfriend would definitely mind if I turn gay all of a sudden... That being said, I would not take that pill. If …

Is it so hard to understand that they want both? I mean, I'm the same! A funny, supportive, good lucking woman that's super boring in bed? Probably won't last. A super sexy hot woman that is emotionally unavailable or abusive? Yeah, we can have sex, but I won't stay. There is simply a whole list of characteristics that have to match for a real relationship to happen and last. I'll make concessions, nobody is perfect, of course. But overall, the whole picture kinda has to fit.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/25 02:47 PM

Refusing to date a certain characteristic is fine. Saying all men that had sex with another man are gross is homophobic. Especially as there is no characteristic that would tell you that except if they volunteer that information. So it's not a characteristic, it's actually the homophobia showing itself. Refusing to date Asian men is also at least borderline xenophobic, if there is no other reason besides the "asianness".

Just stop smoking. Just stop gambling. Just stop drinking. Just stop being angry. Just stop being depressed... All of these comments are stupid, just like your approach to this. People of all levels of intelligence can be in emotional situations where they can get sucked into these interactions. And even if you are balanced enough to "just say no", you still have to deal with the fact that they are fucking everywhere.

As you said, relationships are built on trust. Trust has to be earned. Personally, I am not a jealous person. So I would be fine without that rule from th get go. Not everybody is the same spot - be it because of their character, or because of previous experiences, or who knows what. The point is - these arrangements only work if your partner can totally trust you in these circumstances, and that's si.ply not always the case. And if you fuck up only once, it will never work again.

I don't think prostitution was ever not seen as a kind of shady thing to do - even if legal, which in most countries in most times, it isn't/wasn't. There has always been a moral stigma around it - mainly because there is a large part of society believing that sex shouldn't be a commodity you sell. You can agree or disagree with that, but that doesn't change the fact. In the same line, though, the dating behavior you describe is also considered unethical by a lot of people. So I don't see the po…

It could be that. It could also be a mood thing. Or she's not looking for anything at the moment. Or the vibes are off. Not everything is biological.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/25 01:43 AM

If a woman rejects you, she's essentially saying "your genetic make up is not worth the effort and/or should not remain in the gene pool" Or... it just means "sorry, you're not my type, but you might be somebody else's" THAT would be a healthy way to deal with rejection. Frankly, the thought that every rejection is a critical warning is quite ridiculous. If you get constantly rejected, yes, take a look at yourself and try to figure out why. But a rejection is first and foremost simply a "no, tha…

What's your point? In science these terms have a very specific meaning now, and scientists have to use them accordingly. And nobody is complaining about that in science. In everyday speech, you can use the term gender in any way you like. It is a free country, after all. At least for now. It's just, if you refuse to adept to how language evolves, people will be annoyed by how you speak. That's their right, too. If you are born with XY chromosomes, but your mom always wanted a girl, so she cuts off your balls and dick and raises you as a girl - that's a social gender. This is a ridiculous extreme case, but plenty of girls have been raised kinda like boys because their dad's really wanted a boy. We have a term for that - tomboy. That is a social construct. /r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:37 PM

Nobody got hurt by that change. Nobody is missing out. Nobody's research got hampered. Nobody took advantage. They needed a new term because none existed for what they were describing, and this is what hundreds if not thousands of scientists converged to over time. I work with plenty of biologists. None of them have ever expressed grief over this. Why are you? Do you simply want them to incent a new word, so you can use the term gender in its old meaning again?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:36 PM
2

I mean, that's not impossible. Some outside parties might have pushed this. You don't have any facts backing that up though. On the other hand, the feminist movement has been around much much longer than social media. Longer than any one foreign power was an enemy of the west and would've had an interest in playing such a long game. So, while I can't debunk your claim, it sounds very unlikely. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck... it's most likely not a Russian spy.

You just copied the section from your original post. You are deliberately misusing the terms here. A trans gender male is somebody who identifies as male. Hence the term "gender" and not "sex". The trans part refers to the fact that this person was not assigned the male gender at birth. Sex plays no initial role in this description. In principle, this person could be of male (biological) sex, but their male sexual organs hadn't formed for whatever reason, and so they were assigned the gender fem…

Words change meaning all the time. For so many reasons. It's how language works. Nobody forced this change - over time, sociologists agreed that these are the terms they want to use for this, and then over even more time, other areas of science adopted the term. And then, much later, journals adopted it in their style guides. Because at that point, it had become the de facto standard on how to describe this.

Just to address the science part. What these scientists are trying to do is explain and investigate the naturally occurring phenomenon that some people (a very small relative amount of the population), exhibits a mismatch between their perceived and biological sex. And this comes in various degrees of severity. One of the concepts they came up with to do so, was the separation of the biological sex from what is more a social concept of how people present themselves and where they see themselves …

Dude, you're arguing semantics while claiming to have a big point. And Google is by no means a good way to drive your weird unnecessary point - words often have a more restrictive meaning in science than in normal speech. Plus, we already covered the fact that they used to be interchangeable. If you just accepted that the meaning of these words changed. Would you have any real argument left?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:14 PM
1

They only have to accept the meaning of the terms. It's words, they have a meaning. Maybe the meaning of the word "gender" changed when this theory came about and is now not interchangeable with "sex" anymore. But as long as they adhere to these guidelines on how to phrase things so people do not have misunderstandings, your science is unaffected by that.

If, as you said further down, SM is used by women more than by men, then what you are really saying is that women shaped women's opinions on these topic. Even if they are not the majority, women certainly pushed these topics in SM. It's almost like, I don't know, women cared about these topic and made them part of the public discussion to enable the change they wanted?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:09 PM

Who forces anybody to abandon a term? Are you just hung up on the fact that sex and gender do not have interchangeable meaning anymore?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:06 PM

They enforce the distinction between the terms gender and sex. So in that sense authors have to accept that there is a concept of gender, and they have to use the terms accordingly. In principle, a society could claim that in their population, sex and gender are always aligned. That is allowed in this theory. However, I have never seen any claims anywhere that there are societies that study this but can't find transgender individuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 04:05 PM
3

This section is unfortunately fundamentally wrong. For instance, some neuroscience studies claim that "transgender individuals" have brain structures closer to their "identified gender" than their biological sex. This is nonsensical, as brains do not produce gametes and have nothing to do with sex; there is no "male brain" or "female brain." This is your theory, but it is not true. Organs do not have to produce gametes to be influenced by sex. Biological sex influences hormones, and hormones inf…

Have you ever been seriously sick, and while trying to deal with that, you had to navigate health insurance and your job? It's tough to sometimes impossible. There are so many reasons why women might not find the strength to do what they should do. The easiest ones to see are probably children financial dependency emotional dependency. The prospect of being alone can b…

patriarchy is defined as a family where men are the leading "patriarch" and is the "leader" of the family basically What a conveniently narrow definition of the word. In reality, the definition is broader as a " social system in which positions of authority are primarily held by men" (wikipedia). This definition, which was only on click away on the internet, immediately debunks all your arguments. Because it is not about equal rights, but about who holds the power. Even today in the West, after …

100%. I hooked up in the past, why shouldn't she? Gives us a more similar experience horizon, which is great! I don't see any benefit in my partner being significantly less experienced than I am. A virgin wouldn't even know her sex drive, yet. What if hers and mine differ by a lot?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 04:23 PM

Dude, no way! I want someone who has experience with sex, who knows what she likes and what she doesn't like. That's the only way we can figure out sexual compatibility, and that's super important to me.

I need to be able to have a good conversation with her. That doesn't necessarily mean book smart or high ed degree, but if she can't grasp the things that are on my mind, we are going to have a problem Drive. You are missing the point - again. Nobody said they did a good job. But their mistakes were corrected. And the statue of limitations or allowing a wrong witness is a technicality. It doesn't make anybody less guilty. These rules are there for a reason, and it is good that these mistakes were corrected. But it doesn't mean these people are innocent.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 04:22 PM

Maybe I'm wrong with the semantics here, I'm not a native speaker. But the important point is that any mistakes made during the entire process were corrected. That's how the legal system is supposed to work, and it worked. A lot of people would probably argue it worked a bit too well, since we all know they are guilty. Which is probably why NYS for example changed their laws, so that it's less easy for a perpetrator to get away on a technicality.

Dude, you got this so backwards! First of, due process was followed. They were allowed to appeal, the appeal went through, and they were acquitted for whatever was done wrong in the original trial. That's exactly what due process looks like. Second, you are confused about what's legally right and what's morally right. Legally, they are acquitted. Morally, it is very clear that all of them behaved (and probably still do) like absolute scum bags. It is very important to note that there is no right…

No, I don't know. Because you are using unspecific phrases and you clearly project the pain that you went through onto a general view of women. OP asked about specific expectations in a specific scenario. Where does your comment fit into that?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 05:12 PM

You are not equalizing work, though. You are not even measuring output. You are measuring monetary value. Your system would only work if work would be paid in reference to how much effort it is to do it. But very obviously, that's not the case in our capitalist society. Otherwise, teachers would be paid better, and certain white color jobs would be paid less.

The argument made to you by the previous commentator was precisely the difference between justified anger of early feminists and unjustified anger by some of today's feminists. If you want to debate, you have to debate the argument at hand
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 04:08 PM

This seems like a sure way to a miserable marriage, and if I was your partner and you proposed this I would find a divorce lawyer asap. Notably, in my original comment, I said work, not output, nor monetary equivalent. A partnership is not a capitalist environment. I don't want my marriage be run like a company maximizing earnings. After everything is done, with partners should have roughly the same amount of free time etc. Your system would benefit the partner with the better paying career - es…

My argument is specifically that man-hating is not some new invention of the 4th wave of feminism. And man hating is integral to feminism The first one means that there have always been man haters in the feminist movement. This is probably true, and it's easy to see why. The second one is stronger: it suggests that feminism couldn't exist without man hating or that most feminists are man haters. It's not the same, and you know it. In a debate topic, differences matter, and details do, too. Don't…

M39, 14/15 I do question your reasoning why you included so much adolescent points. At my age, I feel like it's much easier for me to filter my social interactions. Bullies are less of a problem, and I don't need to be popular anymore - I just need my group of friends. I dont think your little test will account well for lonely adults. Kind of in the same direction: I really dislike the "have you done x once" questions. The likelihood for that - and importance of just one event - will vary widely…

Not a woman, but I want to point the enormous flaw in your logic. You equate "gets laid" with "women are attracted to his body/looks". While most likely women use this to get access to his other qualities - money, status, connections - and because of that he is more likely getting laid more. Example that stands out is the footballer Peter Crouch who was once asked, if you were not a footballer what would you be? A virgin he replied! Taking a quote from a Q&A session that might very well have bee…

You conveniently don't specify "results". Getting laid? Yes, maybe TRP works. Long term relationship? I highly doubt it.

What are you talking about? I literally said both partners share the work load. And I consider both working hours and hours spend on chores at home "work". That's literally both partners have to do their part. Also, I didn't specify any partner's sex anywhere...

/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:51 PM

Ah, yes, I showed the flaws in your argument, so you quickly switch it to something similar but entirely different. How many women in total are in these fan clubs? I bet very few. How many women out of these would actually like to meet the killer given the chance? I bet much less even.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:45 PM

Or men that think women like bad boys and try to spice up the bedroom by smoking a cigarette in bed. My hypothesis is about as credible as yours.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:44 PM

I think house work should be considered work, and the total amount of work each partner does should be roughly equal. That also requires shared finances, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:34 PM

Divorce rates? Bad guys get divorced less? "Damn, my marriage is failing. Let me go to prison, that should fix it"... /s
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:28 PM

Where did I say i don't believe the study? A correlation between incarceration rate and number of sexual partners doesn't mean a majority of women like that. It also doesn't mean these encounters are satisfactory, or if these people even want frequent partner changes, or are unable to find a long term partner. But my reaction was very much one of "I can't believe this statistics is true, but apparently it is"
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:27 PM

Yet you say "I don't need to". Red pill or blue pill, whatever, but at least try to be consistent in your own twisted beliefs...

/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:15 PM

Is that true? Where are those stats?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 02:07 PM

Assuming this comes from an American persepctive... In general, Id say polticial beliefs aren't as important as values. Those are non-negotiable for me to a degree. However, in the US, in a highly polarized society, political beliefs kinda point towards values - think abortion rights, immigration, etc. And I wouldn't be willing to compromise in that.

Shouldn't matter at all. If cheating is the reason for the divorce - then that's what it is. No more. A divorce is always due to someone doing something bad. It's very rare that both partners agree peacefully that they want a divorce. Alimony and such is paid specifically in these cases as well, so I fail to see why cheating should change that. When you enter a marriage, be aware that you are sharing your money - current and future.

If you want to interact more with women, maybe you have to behave more appealing to women. You could do that by, e.g., standing up for their right to bodily autonomy. Or, I guess, but supporting the guy who threatens abortion bans... Or is this some scorched earth approach?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/24 04:16 PM

This is the most narrow minded thing I've seen in a while. Christian principles. You could've said religious. But no, you made it Christian, completely ignoring all the other religions out there, that also have traditional lifestyles. Husbands will be held accountable for how they lead their families. Yes, the famous accountability for men religions enforce. That's why there was no divorce back when people still believed in God. Nor was there domestic violence or sexual abuse. Oh, wait... there …

Imo women should choose who they reproduce with without systemic coercion Yet you define the top 20% of men based on capitalism values, that are based in the system. The richest, most attractive people in our society are often also the most selfish, most narcissistic, least helpful to society in general.

Evolutionarily it is the wisest choice. You clearly don't understand evolution. Humans are arguably one of the most successful species on earth, and we got here by evolution. And we clearly didn't evolve into all women reproducing with only a few top males. Other species did, we did not. And this also completely neglects the affects of our culture and society. Your approach would lead to either 1) a huge drop in birthrate, essentially killing us of in a few generations, or 2) a very large amount…

I hear your frustration, and it's valid. I'm sorry you went through this, and I hope you are alright. I never tried to downplay this the slightest. But just look what just happened here: we went from "unlikely, 0% of conviction", to "nonexistent", to 5% of accusations are false. As hard and emotional as some topics are, I will always argue for using actual facts. With 100s of thousands of assaults every year, the difference between nonexistent and 5% is huge! Damn, these statistics are depressing. Just for accuracy, not to diminish them in any way: sexual assault is not the same as rape. It covers a broader spectrum of shittery less than 3% of reported offenders go to prison. Even though a lot of the other 97% probably are due to lack of evidence et cetera, it is probably safe to say that at least some of these cases are also simply false and therefore don't lead anywhere.

Hobbies and expanded social circles are for your improved quality of life, not for improving your chances of attracting a mate. They might do that also, but that's coincidental, not the goal. This is the ticket. This is such an important point. When people give advice like extending the social circle, it's to get people out there, get them to socialize. It's not a direct ticket to hit on anybody. As OP described himself, that doesn't work, and often destroys hobby groups etc.

The whole point of discussions like this is about what happens in the rare case. Just because something is rare doesn't mean we can ignore it. The same is true when arguing about capital punishment for murder, or even when e.g. talking about plane crashes. Or accidents in nuclear power plants, if you want. The more extreme/bad the outcome of a single event, the more we have to think about what to do in this rare case.
