You're absolutely correct, but it can be hard to judge tone from text, and I've seen plenty of similar comments on Reddit that definitely weren't sarcasm, hence why I didn't want to take chances.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.. People found to be making false rape allegations should serve the same sentence the accused would have got had they been found guilty.
