Subpoena financial records in mediationJoys of divorce, longer it drags on the more money everyone makes. They can order it but they still don't need to provide it. You'll sit in mediation for ages and be at a stalemate. The judge might eventually just sign off on the divorce and deny any form of spousal or child support due to not having the financials. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/23 06:48 PM
Subpoena financial records in mediationYou have every right to request it but they aren't technically obligated to provide them. They most likely won't sign off on the divorce till it's provided but they can stall it for years unfortunately. I've been requesting documents for months and she still won't give me anything. Basically ran with everything the day I filed and took every single financial document, birth certificate (including my own) and whatever else I could use. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/23 03:09 AM
Wife just manipulated the courts to delay temporary orders and stole the holidays away from me.Sounds absolutely miserable. I had to fire my first attorney since she was so uninvolved and making up so many nonsense changes. Burned $4100 in a month from basically emails. I could've done what she did myself, just nonsense replies to the other attorney repeating word for word what I said. My new attorney tried to stop her delaying this hearing but the court didn't care. They told the courts my wife is doing nothing but intentionally stalling the temp orders to get the children but they just … | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/23 02:11 AM
Divorce Realization: Housework is really not that much 'work'Sounds about right. After years of dealing with it I realized it's nothing more than them deflecting their unhappiness onto you. I thought for sure one day I'd do enough to make her happy and it was never going to happen. You spend so much time focusing on their happiness you neglect your own happiness. You'll see that she won't be happy no matter who she's with. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/10/23 06:55 PM
Divorce Realization: Housework is really not that much 'work'Oh I'm sure it was no help. Seems like people cherry pick easier stuff and then gaslight about how hard it is. Wonder how many people have died from the strain of vacuuming or washing a dish? Lots of people die from shoveling snow yearly or having heatstroke working outside. Funny enough, we just got around 6" of snow and it's still snowing and I'm not there to shovel her car out. Never appreciated anything I did, only criticized the things I didn't. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/10/23 09:29 PM
Texas temporary orders questionTemporary orders usually address both the marital home and visitation of the children. As long as you don't have a domestic or addiction that would put the children in danger you'd be granted shared custody. If you're unable to afford to maintain two places they'd most likely have you stay in the home till it's sold and then you two split it whichever way. I'm trying to fully move out of my home but the wife keeps delaying the temp orders hearing because she doesn't want to share the children. I… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/10/23 06:40 PM
Divorce Realization: Housework is really not that much 'work'I realized that even before I filed for divorce. She'd always whine about washing dishes and for whatever reason would take her hours to do. I started doing them, knocked them out daily 10 minutes max. She'd always try to say me taking care of the lawn or shoveling weekly is somehow inferior to whatever she did inside. I offered to trade her, she can go mow the lawn when it's 100f out or shovel a foot of snow. Funny enough, she never agreed to trade her much harder job for mine. Now that I moved… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/10/23 06:32 PM
Thinking about telling OBS about ex-wife’s affair. Concerned about retaliation.End of the day absolutely nothing good will come from it. You're doing it as revenge nothing more. Focus on your divorce and your new life, your exes problems are hers don't wrap yourself up in it. You also don't know what this other guy will do for retaliation, plenty of stories out there of things going extremely bad in these situations so avoid it at all costs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/23 06:01 AM
Date or notI think it's more a matter of if anyone would want to date you while going through a divorce. In terms of if it's morally right, that's really up to you. As long as you aren't involving them in the divorce then I see nothing wrong with it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:20 AM
Date or notIf you're in a no fault state cheating or whatever can't even be mentioned in a divorce. Rest I agree with though! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:18 AM
Wife had house before we got married, will I get half of improvements back? It's possible. You just have to figure out what value those upgrades added to the equity. Generally home upgrades add more than you spent assuming they were done right. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/05/23 01:00 PM

would really appreciate some good feedbackSpeaking from experience, whenever your partner out of the blue does a 180 and wants out of the relationship it's always because they are seeing someone else. Just how women are, one minute they seem to be happy and the next they are so miserable and it's all your fault. Don't do anything crazy, you and I both know she's seeing someone else so just focus on the end goal and get the divorce finished. Your marriage seems quite easy to end so talk to her, figure out if she will repay you for the wo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 09:16 PM
This guy is a geniusYup, no doubt it is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 09:10 PM
This guy is a geniusSo the advice is to become the absolute perfect husband and partner and hope she notices and changes her mind? Maybe that applies to husbands that are trash spouses but all I see is a very lopsided relationship where only one party is working on things and the other reaps all the rewards. My entire marriage has only been about everything I do wrong and all the things she needs to be happy. She wants me to give her 110% and maybe if I'm lucky she'll consider giving something back only after she g… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 09:09 PM
Feeling dead. Is it too late to be worth it?It's never too late to be happy. I have no idea how inheritance factors into a divorce, they may consider it hers and it won't be counted for assets/income during the divorce which could royally screw you. Has she worked or is currently working? That needs to be a factor because alimony could financially ruin you and it will be for life with how long you've been married. The only advice you should listen to is from a lawyer. If her inheritance makes her the breadwinner that will aid in your divo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 08:52 PM
would really appreciate some good feedbackYour story is a mess and hard to follow tbh and most of it doesn't matter if you're in a no fault divorce state. Technically if the house was hers before the marriage it is still hers after. You need to prove you put significant time and money into the property and seek to be repaid since it would only benefit her since she keeps the property. Everything else like debt, income and property acquired during the time you were married is factored in. Spousal support won't be considered due to the sh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 08:41 PM
Typing up my own custody arrangement.90% custody to you is full custody with visitation for her. That's how it should be drafted since you'd have them a majority of overnights in a calendar year she basically isn't their guardian at that point. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 08:33 PM
In need of advice for how to explain a divorce to someone new I am datingWould you ever probe into your next girlfriends history, things like body count, everything she did wrong etc? The answer is probably not. Dating is hard enough as is for men, last thing you need to do is give her a list of reasons not to date you on top of their already long list of things you're not checking off. If you meet someone and you connect and see a future together what else matters? Nobody is perfect and she damn sure won't be. Past is the past, you're not a convicted felon or anythi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 08:29 PM
In need of advice for how to explain a divorce to someone new I am datingMaybe not a popular opinion but you don't need to share details. Say you're divorcing because your needs weren't being met. If you're in a dead bedroom you either choose celibacy or you get those needs met elsewhere. If your wife suddenly decided she wanted to be a vegetarian are you doing something wrong by grabbing a burger without her? People seem to think that being married you no longer need to be intimate with your partner. You were forced to seek it elsewhere which isn't the same as you g… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 08:15 PM
Fear of divorce is a valid reason not to get marriedAs a married man myself marriage is crap. I really don't understand why any man would want to be constantly under supervision and stop enjoying the things they love all because their woman is bored and you need to entertain her all the damn time. I'm glad I got my kids out of it but I don't think I've ever been more miserable in my life. I've officially reached the point now where sex is done with because she got her kids and of course I can't sleep with others. What typically seems to happen is… | /r/MGTOW2 | 01/02/21 10:32 AM
Today I lost a brotherI've lost pretty much all my male friends over the years. Now that I'm older I really don't care much because looking back they were typically one sided. The most recent one I met in middle school and after his divorce he started dating this new girl and within a few months was telling me he was going to propose. I pretty much told him he's stupid and it's way too soon and that was the last time I spoke to him years ago. Last I heard has a couple more kids with her and is pretty heavy into drugs… | /r/MGTOW2 | 01/02/21 10:24 AM
