How exactly did I generalize you? And lack of male role models are the number one predictor of male violent criminal behavior. That is going to increase, it’s well studied. And depressed men express it as anger, and get violent. My life is thankfully fine. But I mostly participate in this place because the frustrated, angry men around here? They are a legit threat to my happy life if they go off the deep end. It’s in my best interest to argue for them, or else I’ll have to rely on my firearms in…

I’m not being obtuse, “more close relationship with men” was hard to parse. For instance, by forming sentence brakes for your last two sentences, it makes it seem like the second “they” is implying the same party as the first “they”, implying women don’t have many close friends, which is the opposite of your presumed meaning. And right now, that is certainly the case, but hasn’t historically been such, and wouldn’t be the case for the cohort of this study. Male only spaces, like the scouts, have…

My apologies if English isn’t your first language, but the with is throwing me off, mind rephrasing?

Certainly does. An overwhelming amount of men with actual male friends notice these patterns. I wonder why you think they are just stereotypes? Never tossed a ball around? Maybe incapable of pattern recognition? I don’t think you know what character is. You certainly don’t understand how statistics work. High school was enough for you huh?

This guy is an over 30 married man who follows dudes around this place talking about how everything, in his opinion, is men’s fault. Honestly, maybe his dad should have gone fishing with him.

If you are being casual you aren’t pursuing serious relationships. Jumping from person to person after a relationship ends is an immature choice that hinders the self reflection and personal growth required to approach the next relationship looking to get a better outcome. People who just casually fuck before falling into a relationship usually string along both never getting anywhere, and end up alone.

They are related, and you are too proud to answer. I have asked a couple simple questions looking to see if you understand the premise to no response. A high N count represents a very different attitude towards sex and relationships than a low N count. Those are related counts.

Now you are finally edging towards the actual discussion, instead of beating around the bush. The real discussion is: is N count a relevant sign of any behavior that men wouldn't want to date. You assume I'm talking specifically about cheating. My argument is never about cheating. It's that N count is representative of a person who's dating track record hasn't been oriented towards long term commitment. For both men and women, if your goal is a long term partner, your objective should be to find…

It's an analogy... no one is claiming having sex is a crime. I'm trying to find a way to explain to you why life is full of examples where an individual's pattern of behavior is used to subgroup them into either "green flag" groups, or "red flag" groups. Do you think it's fair, if some one gets too many car accidents, to deny them a license?

Andrew Tate is a piece of shit. However, the average response you will find from Red Pill is to be cautious that she isn't just making up bullshit for attention. Every guy I know has at least one ex when we were young who, when things broke up, tried to put them on blast and make up shit on social media. It's happened enough a lot of men don't trust women not to cry wolf. Which is horrifying, because on the other side of the coin, there are a ton of women who have had monstrous things happen to …

We jail people who commit crime because their individual history of past bad behavior predicts they will in the future do things we can't let people do in society. We don't just bulk jail people because they have a population statistical chance of committing crime. The value of protecting society from dangerous individuals is that their individual past behavior qualifies them to be placed in a sub category of people, separate from the broader general population, that all equally are too risky to…

Very very different statistics. We ban drunk drivers because their past behavior increases their likelihood of engaging in dangerous actions to a degree where we wouldn’t be comfortable with anyone on the road. We don’t punish all people who drink because some become drunk drivers, we only punish those who have a personal history of the behavior.

Why do you think "some people individually do things that give them a poor history" is the same as "all people should be treated equally based on group statistics". Just because some one believes those who have a history of drunk driving shouldn't be on the road, doesn't mean they believe no one should drive.

Did I, ever once, use population statistics for my argument about N count? You brought up the men cheat more stat, not me.

I have run into you before, frankly I have a problem with you. You don't really read what point I am trying to make, you are arguing against a nebulous idea of a proto-poster and their argument. I find running into you around here consistently off putting and frustrating because your every post reads the same, you aren't actually communicating with the person you reply to. If you want me to continue with you in earnest, stop telling me what other people are saying, read what I am actually saying…

Your conflating two ideas, population trends and individual history. And frankly, twice I have replied to you that I agree since men cheat more, women should be more warry of cheating. Should a woman overlook a man's past who cheated personally on 4 previous partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 03:35 PM

Numbers can be indicative of patterns no? If a woman hears that a guy has cheated on 4 other women, should she think of that as "just a number"?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 02:52 PM

You should go both. Women absolutely should be warry of cheating, and looking into the character of the person they date. Do you think they shouldn't?

You trust your partners without them earning your trust? That feels like a very painful road to walk. Do you trust random strangers blindly? If so, I have a bridge to sell you in Alaska. Having chemistry with some one doesn't make them trust worthy. You really should do a better job being cautious about how you trust, and look for some one with the maturity to require their trust to be earned.

Life is invasive. HR will check your employment record when you apply for a job, your rights will be pursuant of your clean record of safe behavior if you want to operate a car. You won't be allowed higher education at a quality institution unless you have a record of scholastic achievement. The older you get, the more people will fairly judge you on your behavior, and you should 100% in the early stages of a relationship be cautious trusting some one blindly until they have earned your trust. Y…

those same dudes expect women to overlook the fact that just being a man in a relationship means you're far more likely to cheat. Sounds like women should be cautioned to look into if a guy has a history of cheating and judge him appropriately. Both sides would have better outcomes using a potential partner's behavior history to make their dating choices.

I find some one who starry-eyed trusts words without vetting actions to be extremely gullible. You either don't really want a long term relationship, or failed to secure one in the same timespan of most, so how does your experience apply exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/23 07:17 PM

People lie, it's not insecure to attempt to vet people based on behavior. It's immature to believe you can detect liars from the honest accurately. Women come up with things like "are we dating the same guy" for a reason, they are the victim of effective liars all the time. You would be entirely justified using actions and less biased sources to determine some one's intentions and behavior. As a woman I would highly encourage you not to take men's words at face value (or how much they can sell y…

I agree 100% with your second point. Never make your choices based on what people are doing "on average". These days, the average person is miserable. It is what it is, but you have to be open to walking away from what the average person is doing if you want to find your own happiness.

Men will look for your past, and judge you for it. This is perfectly prudent on their part. Any man older than 24, the second he wants a woman for more than a little fun, will put out feelers looking into what her past looks like because that past forms, for him, a predictive history of behavior like a job resume that he will use to evaluate you for the position. You can tell him what you are and want all you can, but just like any woman who has had a few relationships has had bad experiences wi…

There is a lot to this that makes it sort of meaningless. For one thing, outside of the effect of community and relationships, this sort of data keeps shifting every handful of years. The most we can really say is the current conditions, among the subpopulation actually studied (I would not apply Manhattan to the general population), have created this trend. But people love to grab a snippet of data and say "see! The other gender has been like this for all of time! Doom and gloom, they are all t…

It's not, almost all "research" linked here comes from yellow rag news sources bastardizing research to make a point. Really, just about the only thing that has been hard proven is that close relationships are the most predictive factor for long term happiness and health, dramatically outshining wealth and achievement. The connection between having strong bonds and better life outcomes has been shining through longitudinal research for decades. Men and women are both happiest in healthy relation…

His measurement is the article from "The Atlantic" he listed. Mind you, these articles are doom and gloom, and generally come from poorly journalized research. The article in question comes from a woman who writes books championing polygamy, and stretching study results to glorify infidelity. The article has a clear axe to grind, and I find myself looking for the studies it mentions because it neither clearly links them, or reasonably summarizes them. The real problem is that science has been hi…
