Hard truth: girls are heavily influenced by status and wealth. When they find out that you’re a refugee it tells them that you are of low status (right now) and likely not wealthy (right now). Thankfully you now live in a country with good opportunity to increase your status and wealth. Don’t worry about the girls and just focus on building yourself. If you do pursue girls then I’d suggest you don’t mention your status as a refugee, at least until you establish yourself and your career.

Hey man. Engineering is a great choice. I went to a state college (relatively cheap compared to uni). I worked during community college and state college, managed to graduate with no debt, and now make nearly 6 figures in my 20’s. If you choose this path, GET A (paid) INTERNSHIP WHILE YOURE IN SCOOL! The degree qualifies you for the job, your experience will GET you the job. Good luck!
