I find it useful in clarifying my own viewpoint, and I learn stuff while researching responses

You are in a dark dungeon of the internet. Thinking that most people of any gender think this way outside of here is asking for trouble, imho

I think there is a problem with men having self esteem nowadays. A lot of people who pursue it, and self improvement, call themselves 'red pill', and that seems to influence algorithms and some online group sorting. My question is, what pill should you be sporting if you pursue self improvement for it's own sake, and not some kind of dating strategy?

I think stuff like this: Women seem to not really like men that much to begin with If women in general don't like men, isn't that a bit sad? Maybe a debate topic could be "what could men change for women to enjoy relationships with them". The Red Pill guy below seems pretty confident about his answers, and it seems sad to cede the discussion only to that viewpoint

I can pick up the discussion! Lilith posted this above: I said “why would women want a little bitch when they can get all those annoying female traits from their friends without having to go through subpar sex”? could you discuss the above quote? I get the vibe that it's more about bringing men down, than lifting women up. Implying men are bitches that try to be more like women, which doesn't sound like equality

Very much so. To me, it reads to me like a parody account of what an incel thinks a woman sounds like. She's pushing opposing viewpoints at the same time such as "men want to pay" and "men don't want to pay", while claiming men are/should be some kind of monolith? Like, is she saying the only type of women willing to pay are lefties, sugar mommas and single moms? When I ask for clarification, she sidesteps the question. I think she wants the argument more than any sort of truth - she left me wit…

I don't understand, which is the problem. She(Lilith) posts a bunch of contradictory stuff, then says, 'men must be like this' The "problem" with paying is that men the women most guys drool over and dream about dont have to pay like, she's acting like men are a monolith, when I ask for clarification, she posts roundabout/non answers. When I ask if the whole post is a troll/engagement bait, she exits the conversation. You guys don’t see how ridiculous a lot of men sound until a woman regurgitate…

How is that different from any post about women here? let's look at this a different way, "that person is racist, that totally justifies my racism!" that's what what you wrote sounds like

I thought so too, did a brief look through her account, she's been at this for 7+ years :/. This "ALL MEN MUST BE ALL LIKE THIS BECAUSE I SAY SO" thing is kinda weird. My guess is that it gets so much engagement, so they think it proves something? Like, it feels like a man running a parody account of what they think women are like

To simplify, do you believe your original post is true, and your own words, or is it rage bait/sarcasm, parodying tropes you see?

To simplify, do you believe your original post is true, and your own words, or is it rage bait/sarcasm, parodying tropes you see? Because it makes no sense they complain this much about paying, and they won’t simply not pay. stuff like this sounds contradictory, maybe some men have different perspectives?

According to men here, thats masculinity and not expected from adults in general. You start your post with 'guys complain about having to pay for dates. They'll be left with:', now it's 'the men here think competency is unattractive', if I'm reading that right? I personally think men think taking responsibility is attractive, which might be where the disconnect is coming from - but is your post written from your perspective, or an imagined 'monolith of men's' perspective? Why are there men still…

This post feels a bit like rage bait/sarcasm against women If she shows all the "positive masculine traits" (basically just being a competent adult with self-control and no insecurities) why is being a competent adult the domain of men? Men here will say they'll take any woman, but most don't really mean it. I think this is old thinking. Men seem much more willing to pull back from society or not engage, nowadays Similarly, some older single mom looking for a hot baby sitter for her kids. I say …

The manosphere hears this, and exploits it. It effectively sells itself as the only place he can get help without losing his identity, protecting a young man's pride while exploiting his desperation. My take, or my guess, is that there is little greater appreciation for men at the moment. There is a somewhat common view that they are expendable, and are currently withdrawing from society. I see complaints from women centered groups that men aren't approaching them, or in some cases, even going o…

because it's always women who end up taking the bullets the most I'm not sure if it's just hyperbole or figure of speech, but men are about three times more likely to be murdered in the U.S. than women, with roughly the same rates for successful suicides

I never believe anyone that believes in this lone wolf mindset, the "I'm above the judgement of others" or the "I do everything for my own pleasure". As an aside, how would you meet someone like this? They wouldn't meaningful ly interact with you, if they did believe it. Assuming we give Reddit a pass for interaction, what argument would you accept from a Redditor that they were this proverbial "lone wolf"? Like, would Richard Proenneke qualify - the guy who went to live alone in the Alaska wild…

If you haven't seen the retreat of men from society, I don't think you are going outside, tbh. 63% of men under 30 report being single, while 34% of women do, as an example https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/02/08/for-valentines-day-5-facts-about-single-americans/

On a slightly different tack, I recently saw a study where pictures of women were shown to men with no makeup, "invisible" makeup, and full makeup. Universally, the men rated the no makeup as more approachable/attractive

will literally never ever EVER say any bullshit about cooking and cleaning and birthing children agreed, sounds boring Men would be absolutely "ran through" if they were women ick, that leads to emotional attachments They would not care about the nuclear family at all or made up gender roles agreed, let's pick the nuclear option, and nuke the planet /s In secret, I'm a bit of a humanist, but one thing has been bugging me lately. As people become more educated, especially women, they have less ch…

If you want to get really nihilistic, men are successfully killing themselves in much higher numbers than women, so there's that as one potential answer

If you say so, the guys I know in that group tend to be pretty bookish, and didn't really try much to start with, imho. Like burnt out with the world, and choosing to live mostly online - I wouldn't say women were to blame per se

Most men's A ton of the men I know are checking out of society these days, and don't give a crap how anyone see's them. A bunch of other men only care how other men see them. I would say the smallest group of men I know are hung up on women, but I may be an outlier

Majority of people out there aren't even familiar with terms like blue/red/purple pill - maybe if they've seen the movie with the name that's what they associate with it. I think people are aware that there is a 'pick-up' culture, but generally associate it with short term relationships/flings. A lot of people just live their lives normally, unaware of deep internet arguments. If people want long term relationships, they tend to get help from their friends, or the same for short term ones - it's…
