/ One photo a day in the worst year of my life (make-up artist fakes a photo montage of an abused woman) If this isn't propaganda I don't know what is.I would have no issue with this - IF it was openly promoted as fake. A "see what can happen?" kind of thing. Domestic abuse happens and I would seriously question the morals of a person who could take a picture of someone else who was being hit on a daily basis, and do nothing about it. I can see the logic of not using actual photos of real victims - not everyone would want a picture from such a sad time in their life immortalized on the internet. (and before you get mad at me I know that it DOE… | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 05:29 PM
My uni is (probably) changing the Women's Center on campus to a Student's Resource Center for Men and Women - All because I stepped forward on the issue.I do acknowledge that women are assaulted more frequently than men. What I will not accept is that women are somehow more deserving of support. I see absolutely no reason why a support center would need to be segregated. So far, you've presented zero good options or alternatives to ensure men who are assaulted are able to receive the same level of care available to women who have been victims of the same trauma. | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 04:18 AM

As fact? Nobody is saying men and women are affected in equal proportions. We're saying that victims deserve support. Not men. Not women. Victims. | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 04:00 AM |
What do you guys think of the male privilege checklist? The odd one had elements of truth to it, depending on where you are etc... But most of them were absolute crap | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 03:52 AM
My uni is (probably) changing the Women's Center on campus to a Student's Resource Center for Men and Women - All because I stepped forward on the issue.I have to respectfully disagree with your logic The problem is sexual assault. This affects both genders. You're not talking about tackling a specific problem - you're talking about restricting access to support based solely on gender. Both genders will be better served by one fully functioning, well funded center than each gender taking half the budget and running their own. | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 03:37 AM
My uni is (probably) changing the Women's Center on campus to a Student's Resource Center for Men and Women - All because I stepped forward on the issue.Wow. You are certainly way out there. Female university student here. I see having a student resource center as a good thing. Do I think women are more likely to be assaulted on campus? Sure. However.. The problem is not unique to women, and in the same way I would want a female victim to have somewhere to go for support, men should absolutely have the same resource available to them. Makes a hell of a lot more sense to share one center than to try and split the budget and then squabble about th… | /r/MensRights | 20/03/13 03:07 AM
Men who oppose women's rights and freedomI just find that a lot of men use feminist and female interchangeably - and in my mind, they're very different. I'm here as a female who sees the two sexes as equal and I really appreciate the insight of those who don't take my gender as a reason to tear a strip off me :) No offense taken - there have been a couple of men in this sub who seem quite determined to hate me simply because I'm female but I've found that by and large, the group has been pretty welcoming. | /r/MensRights | 19/03/13 12:34 AM
Men who oppose women's rights and freedomPlease don't operate on the assumption that all females are feminist. We aren't. | /r/MensRights | 18/03/13 08:55 PM
Men who oppose women's rights and freedomI've met a couple - and had the uhh... pleasure of living with one (he was far less overt about his beliefs) He was all for having a girl that was prepared to mow the lawn, until he also realized that said girl also had opinions (I shit you not, the "I won't make you mow the lawn if you'll just keep your opinions to yourself" conversation actually happened) The kitchen thing wasn't really a problem, it never came up because I absolutely love to cook (though it was suggested more than once that p… | /r/MensRights | 18/03/13 08:40 PM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C.Lol you're right... But it would be amazing if such a formula did exist. I've always considered myself to be a 'normal' woman. It makes me a little sad (for both women and men) that to drag someone you once loved through the mud for financial gain is now considered normal. I do see your points though, especially about integrity (or the lack thereof) in most cases. I've gotten to deal with the ex wife and her asshole lawyer. But I also spoke with a lawyer before I left my ex, and am pleased to re… | /r/MensRights | 18/03/13 04:26 AM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C.I see your points, and I agree with some of them. Alimony is bs. I have yet to read a case where I could honestly say that I believe alimony was justified. However, I don't believe that marriage itself is necessarily bad. Maybe if more people put their effort into choosing the right spouse, rather than planning a 50 000$ party there would be fewer problems. As for restraining orders, credit card debt and draining bank accounts, any vindictive spouse can pull that crap. Yes, women are more likely… | /r/MensRights | 18/03/13 03:01 AM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C.I think that comes down to your definition of work. If a woman sits home on her ass, pops out a couple of kids and then sends them to daycare so she can watch her soap operas, I absolutely do not think she deserves half. Maybe it's a generational thing - my mom stayed home with us, and she was on the go around the house all day (minus the 30 minutes she sat down to watch the noon news). Of the friends I have with kids, they don't seem to operate the same way, with "me time" being a running theme… | /r/MensRights | 17/03/13 09:10 PM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C.If nothing else, the potential fines are a step in the right direction. If they're enforced, that would be wonderful. But even if they aren't, hopefully it will cut down some on the denial of visitation. | /r/MensRights | 17/03/13 07:49 PM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C.If you have a kid, you don't need to be married to pay support. The child needs both parents (and the funds of both parents) That said, not all women are created equal and after half of everything they can get their hands on. I walked away from a house we purchased - he had kids from a previous marriage, and I didn't think they needed to be uprooted a second time. If someone was determined to get half before, they could. If they want to walk away without half now, they still can. I realize this … | /r/MensRights | 17/03/13 07:42 PM
Look out tomorrow, Men of B.C."the new act allows the court to issue a fine of up to $5,000 to a parent wrongfully denying the time" All other things aside, this is huge. I watched (and cursed) as my ex's ex-wife jerked him (and the kids) around on visitation, knowing there was nothing he could really do about it. I believe her exact words were "smile and take it, or I won't be so nice" | /r/MensRights | 17/03/13 07:30 PM
Feminism addresses men's issues; a rebuttalI'm not a feminist. I believe in equality of the sexes, not the superiority of one over the other. I also believe in being nice to people, so you have a lovely day sir. A little respect goes a long way. | /r/MensRights | 07/03/13 02:28 AM
Feminism addresses men's issues; a rebuttalWow. I came here because I feel that, in a lot of ways, men do get screwed over. You kinda lost me with this post though. Hate breeds hate - you're not helping your cause with stuff like this. | /r/MensRights | 06/03/13 03:41 AM
