Where are these extremist man haters and where is their manifesto that says to dole out sex offenses to men, and that cat-calling = rape? Please point me in their direction. You want so badly for this caricature of feminism to be real, that it has become real for you and this community. While I appreciate the sentiment to "make us good by making us realize what horrendous bullying cult...," do you not think that TheRedPill has a bit of a cultish thing going on? Or that, for instance, some people…

Glad you can at least realize that you are regurgitating a way over-generalized view of feminism, and that you lied when you claimed those women wanted those men convicted. But, I would still like to see any evidence that reflects the goal of feminism at large is to make cat-calling to be illegal. I am also taking unique enjoyment in the fact that you'd prefer to get a definition of feminism solely from people who hate a caricature of them. That is very well-rounded of you.

I will explain feminism in a way you can understand if you can provide me with evidence of your claim that the women who made this video sought to have those men convicted.

"bring under domination or control, especially by conquest." I think that definition is perfectly fitting, and the word choice perfectly intentional.

Show me where the women who made the video sought to "convict" those men [of rape, presumably, as that is what you keep spouting off that their intention was]. I will also accept evidence that their intention was to convict the men pictured under any law. You are highly conspiratorial and reactive. I would try to explain my "feminist dogma" in "logical and reasonable terms," but I fear it would be in vain and completely lost on you. This is why I suggested you educate yourself about a subject be…

Marxist feminism is just one branch of feminism. It would help if you knew anything whatsoever about what you are talking about, rather than the feminism that this community has made up. Without such knowledge, we get something like the above comment which can only be described as the crazed ramblings of a conspiracy theorist trapped in a torture chamber of his own making, where women are out to kill men, and convict everyone of rape for saying hi.

There is a whiner, a complainer here, and a flawed argument spout here, and it ain't me. Your comment is so full of unwarranted hostility, I can only mourn over what will certainly be a difficult life of believing women are out to charge every man with rape, and other such nonsense. I wonder if any of you ever stopped to consider the relationship between the women in your lives who have obviously jaded you, and you. NotAWALT, just the ones you attract.

You realize by arguing "you got to understand that men are not here to do what you think you deserve or not to do what you think it's wrong based solely on your feminist cult's ideology," you are also arguing the opposite, that it is not a woman's right to not get harassed on the street, but it IS a man's right to harass? I mean clearly that is what you're saying, but your view is just so astoundingly biased, in that you proclaim women can't demand X, but men can, that it deserved to be reiterat…

I'd also just like to point out that, pretending she was "disrespecting" them by referring to them as they portrayed themselves, as harassers (which I find to be bordering somewhere between ludicrous and hilarious), is leaping entirely over the role of the actor in the situation, and their responsibility. If they didn't disrespect her, she wouldn't "disrespect" them by calling them out on it and bringing this to the forefront of public knowledge. But that is all beside the point, as her motive w…

You have to understand that you disagree fundamentally with feminism, so this issue does not resonate with you. The makers of this video did it to spread awareness and begin a discourse about cat-calling. The woman in the video has since received many online rape and death threats, essentially cementing their point, and the purpose of their project.

Maybe a small portion of feminists don't. But the message seems clear if you look further than men's rights click-bait web articles (the only variety posted here, I must say this community suffers severely from a heavy dose of confirmation-bias), and onto actual feminist discourse. That message is: we are all people, we all deserve respect and have the responsibility of treating others with respect as well.

You will fight to the death to make clear that men have a right to subjugate women by way of verbal harassment. Out of all the things to stand for...

Unwanted solicitations in an amount over 2 or 3 is certainly too many. Aside from all these basic disagreements though what is still most astounding to me how fiercely this community defends men's inability to control themselves, and harps on women's obligation to eat it. That is really what bothers me most about the backlash here. Nevertheless, as someone not subjected to ill-advised sexual advancements repeatedly on the street, you will never be afforded the perspective to determine if it feel…

Ok, time to take off the tin foil hat: "This kind of persons might only be pleased when it will be considered rape to look in the direction of a woman." You are making vast generalizations: "they want to make it illegal to talk with someone on the street," "they would have no problem if a man was verbally and physically harassed by a woman." And basically the rest of your paragraph. "They," by which I am assuming you are referring to feminists, certainly are not as a group or by a majority tryin…

Their behavior may be subjectively harmless to you. But an incessant battery of creepiness (names, staring), I believe, is something we all should be able to agree isn't anything to necessarily condone, and much less, demand that women (or anyone) hastily accept. I would go so far as to say that perhaps if (some) men did not treat (some) women as hamsters, they wouldn't act like them. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, chicken and egg arguments aside.

It's conceptually the same. But either way, people on the sidewalk are not entitled to personal space in your world? Sure, it's crowded. That is one scenario. Another is that it isn't, and someone is following you and/or yelling at you things like "baby" or "mommy." I can't get behind the argument that this is cool, or the max level of civility we can expect from people. Again, setting the bar so low for men exudes personality weakness, among other kinds.

You do not believe that people are entitled to any amount of personal space when walking around in public. Got it. I disagree. I suppose you are alright when someone on an airplane rests their foot on the back of your armrest. It's not touching you, so it's cool.

Non one is demanding a right to control the public sphere, and if anyone was, it was the men approaching that regular ass lady and demanding some sort of response or reaction from her, as she was simply walking down the street. There's an obvious player in that scenario who was being the actor in shaping the public sphere. The concept is so basic and simple, of simply minding one's own business. I am impressed with this community's ability to throw the issue far out of proportion. There is a dif…

Do you think that people should have to be subjected to other's stylistic interpretations of compliments at every step, then? Just because? I believe that as people, we are entitled to personal sovereignty; and that includes the right to walk down a street unbothered. Honestly, if we can't hold ourselves and each other to that standard, then we don't have the capacity to even have this discussion. Which boat are you in?

"If you want to be left to yourself, here's a simple idea: stay out of public areas." lol. This sentence is not even worthy of actual rebuttal. On the whole, it's interesting that men with supposed high SMV's, or who wish to achieve high SMV's advocate intrusion into one's life and one's personal space. These are basic personal values.

As to the woman's quote: "...What are they supposed to yell about, your personality or how smart you are?" I dunno, but here's an idea... don't yell at strangers on the street? Sounds annoying as fuck.

ehh, IMO it's disingenuous to call the interactions in that video compliments. An appropriate compliment is a barista or some such person you are already having an interaction with tell you you have pretty hair, or eyes, or what have you. A compliment isn't "damn girl, you fine" or any such variation. A compliment isn't following you down the street, or nagging at you like a child for your number. Do you honestly believe it is too much to ask to want to be left to yourself? Letting guys off the …
