Some people will take others for granted regardless of the other’s actions, and it has nothing to do with you. Perhaps aim for cheerfulness and warmth because it will make your life experience sweeter rather than using the approach that it will change other people. I have a lighter cotton robe for summer, and a high-quality Turkish linen one for winter (the latter is more of an investment piece, but you really only need one and they last forever). Long live the robe!

I think we tend to meet the best candidates when we aren’t so desperate to meet them - not because it’s a cliche, but because being so eager to find “the one” puts us in a PRIME position to be taken advantage of. I know that’s the most gut-wrenching advice when you want nothing more than to “get started,” but every day is a part of getting started, whether the man is in the picture yet or not. When you are focused on /being/ the right one, you tend to meet the right one. Good luck!
