Ex is ordering an appraisal on my home but won't give me access to the appraiser. It will probably not happen before court. What will happen? The funds were marital funds, I just disagree that she should have a right to them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 08:58 PM
Ex is ordering an appraisal on my home but won't give me access to the appraiser. It will probably not happen before court. What will happen? No reason other than it being expensive. But you're right, $400 now is cheaper than hers being tens of thousands of dollars over priced. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 07:54 PM
Ex is ordering an appraisal on my home but won't give me access to the appraiser. It will probably not happen before court. What will happen? We bought it together during the marriage but entirely with my inheritance from a grandparent and my VA disability. She moved out after ten months and she never made a single payment. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 07:35 PM
Ex is ordering an appraisal on my home but won't give me access to the appraiser. It will probably not happen before court. What will happen? That's all great to know. I'm not in Cali, but I'm sure a lot of it is similar. Why wouldn't the judge factor in the cost of sale to the equity? I currently only have maybe 20k equity in the home, but to sell it would cost me more than that in realtor fees. Also, if I'm ordered to buy her out from the equity, I'd have to sell my home to afford it. It's a catch 22. There is no equity because the sale isn't free. Plus it needs a new deck before it can sell, which will be another 20k. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 07:17 PM
Ex is ordering an appraisal on my home but won't give me access to the appraiser. It will probably not happen before court. What will happen? How would we determine equity without knowing the appraised value? | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 07:15 PM
Will my finances come up again after disclosures?Wait, is it possible that I will be compensated because I paid all the bills alone for the past year? I do have a document here from my mortgage company that says the balance of the loan at the time she left. I'm hoping the judge will agree that it's the number we should use, instead of the current value. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 06:31 PM

How much did divorce cost you?In for $7500 so far. Thinking that will be it, but who knows. No mediation whatsoever. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 06:16 PM
Will my finances come up again after disclosures?Hahaha. Sorry, the idea of my ex paying anything at all is just funny to me. She abandoned me and moved 200 miles away and never worked a day in her life. Fortunately, she made some incredibly bad choices, including the moving away, so I'm not too worried about it. I just don't want her to think she'd entitled to the money I have made by working extra hard while she was gone. She doesn't get to capitalize on things I did after she left. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 05:54 PM
Reminder to my fellow man.Letting her file first actually gave me the upper hand. I very much did not want to get divorced, and continued fighting and begging for her to come back for the kids' sake. During our first trial setting, the judge ripped her a new ass hole for being so quick to destroy her own family without trying counseling or anything. The judge admitted she doesn't believe my ex's alibi that her male "friend" wasn't an affair partner, but actually was the reason she left me. She gave her no money and tempo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 05:39 PM
Did any of you deal with false rape allegation?I was fortunately able to dodge it. Wife said she wanted a divorce because she doesn't love me anymore (she was having an affair, duh) but then magically wants sex the next day. She's very aggressive during sex and tells me she wants me to hit and choke her. Then the cops mysteriously show up at my house for a welfare check because her mom was "concerned." Luckily I'm as vanilla as hell and I don't do hitting or biting etc. She told the cops she was fine and they left. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 05:25 PM
