I watched the 3 Medusone videos linked by FD. The timeline and explanations she put forward are extremely sound and I've changed my stance on the topic, I firmly believe that JD is an abuser now. So, uh, thanks I guess? The "criticism" of FD and Heard defenders in this thread is comical, considering how no one is actually addressing the situation, choosing to only throw vague insults at the man directly or bring up the debunked "proof" originating from the smear campaign. At this point I don't t…

In some weird way this guy being both sexist and a literal terrorist somehow spared a person's life. Life def operates in mysterious ways

I don't think that you'll get much agreement on this here, even though this sub says left wing it has a lot of moderate rightwingers and centrists here from what I saw. But to answer you, and to respond to all people saying "necessary alliance" I advocate for mens rights because I believe and want equality for all. I believe in left wing ideas. Right wingers often do it either to: force traditional gender norms on men claiming jt to be "liberation" (which often harms men more than helps) Or, a l…

well, the post clearly implies that it's a win for men and that's not true. I don't think that sharing the pain equally is a matter of any celebration. It was barely a tradeoff at best. Like, if we started drafting women that would be more of a loss for me, because there are no positives to this to men. For me, equally bad is worse than overall better but slightly unequal. But yeah, sometimes shit just gotta happen, and if it's going to get worse, hell, let's at least make it fair. If Britain wa…

Look, I'm pro equality, obviously, but I think that equality should be achieved by improving conditions, not decreasing them. Wartime rationing is a bad exampe. Firstly, wartime is wartime. You usually can't spend money on, say, olympics, when you're at war, and the majority of money goes into war-related things, so budget is significantly more tight, therefore you can't cut something that wouldn't be instantly hurtful. During peaceful times there are loads and loads of cut possibilities. Second…

What? You actually want people to receive less money and benefits from their own govt? I thought UBI was a generally accepted thing, and making retirement come eariler is essentially a form of ubi, or at least a step in that direction. I don't think that british government is so piss poor it can't manage retirement at 60 for all its citizens. My government recently pushed a retirement age increase for BOTH sexes and I can't see a single positive thing in this, because they're spending billions o…

Right? I thought I misunderstood something, apparently I didn't? Government must be pissing themselves laughing for people making them pay their own citizens LESS money and proclaiming that as a win. Yay, let's remove people's benefits for the sake of equality! Clearly being equally dumpstered is a way to go.

Wait a second. If I understood this correctly, british reversed the policy of women being allowed to retire at 60yo, making them retire at 65? How on earth does this benefit men? Shouldn't they have pushed for 60yo retirement for men instead of forcing everyone to retire at 65? If I'm wrong please correct me. But if I'm not, why would anyone support something that would hurt other side instead of benefitting us?

I'm not sure what you tried to say in your first paragraph, could you rephrase? So who downvoted questions then? Left wing? I really don't understand what exactly you're aiming at. Why is paranoia and assumptions in any way justifiable? There are a lot of left wing loaded questions but how does it justify assuming that all questions are? It's literally an assumption that whenever a person doesn't directly agree -he's an enemy, and shoud be attacked. It's a very hostile behaviour that cannot be d…

Well I didn't, but the previous guy, who got heavily downvoted, did. I don't really have a problem with me being downvoted for getting into an argument, although not being the initial agressor, still, it's ok to downvote hostility. But why do you even argue with me if I'm not bringing anything? Either you're doing the same by arguing about an empty point, making you a hypocrite, or there is an actual contribution, which you just didn't like, so you decided to frame it differently to look better …

yeah, i read what you said alright you blamed opposite, left wing side, which is not even present in a conversation, for an ignorant mistake made by your side. that perfectly encapsulates one of the things i dislike about the right - jumping to conclusions when that helps your viewpoint, instead of being unbiased when looking at a statement or an issue. well, even IF it is horrible lefties fault that you're biased and ready to downvote anything not instantly directly agreeing with you - why …

asking a question = not contributing to conversation? it's literally starting a new conversation. and i'm not too surprised my comment hurt your feelings, downvote away

Trust me, hostile people on this sub already actively called for amber cancel. They were never against cancel culture, they were mad it's men who got the shit end. You're either pro cancel or against it, if you want to cancel women and not cancel men, or other way around - congratulations, you're a sexist

If you read closely you'd see me agreeing with you about changing the term. But you didn't. There is a difference between naming real things in a bad way, and blaming things on something non-existent. Toxic masculinity is a term that is recognizable by a lot of people whether it's right or not. It's good to tell these people your point about this term being hurtful, and changing it to sexism as you're proposing. It's bad instantly dismissing everyone using it as sexist, because that is the wides…

I think you misunderstand toxic masculinity. Maculinity is not a universal man treat that everyone has to fight off. It is, however, a widely taught rhetoric. "Boys don't cry", "shrug it off", "never be vulnerable", "boys will be boys", etc. Acknowledgement of toxic masculinity isn't sexist. It is a real problem that almost every man in the world had seen. It's frankly dishonest fo ignore the toxic standards that a lot of men (and traditional women) are imposing. It IS sexist to attribute toxic …

Yeah op decided to add some spice to the story out of his ass. This doesn't help the message at all. In fact, it's hurting it, giving apologists a weapon to use. Now they can rightfully call this post a lie, because it is one. Fuck you op. Present this shit as it is, it's bad enough.

Op got so emotional while typing he kinda forgot how to grammar. Shit, I still can't understand how a person shares positive news and then gets triggered by how he imagines this thing will get ruined, without even knowing if it's ruined or not. You can't fight snowflakes while being a snowflake

thats fair, sadly boycotting never works in current age. but i respect your personal stance. i think it's ok to cancel someone with sufficient evidence. im not fully pro or against. if a person is a predator - you should remove him for others to feel safe. cancelling someone for 5 yo tweets - too far. it's not, however, ok to cry about cancel culture, only then to do a 180 and beg to cancel someone. it's pretty hypocritical, and i know most of this sub is guilty of this
