i’ve been a stay at home dad for a few years now and it’s very very much more work than when I was a senior software engineer. On a given day I: wake up the wife with coffee, start breakfast wake the kids up, help them get dressed and eat clean up after everyone, start gathering clothes for laundry make sure online school starts, start prepping lunch and possibly dinner, work on grocery shopping list help with online school play with the little one a while, empty the dishwasher, start the washin…

3 days for his lawyer to draw up paperwork and file it with the court sounds completely reasonable. filling for divorce is just giving the court the papers. he bender claims he was granted the divorce in 3 days.

I just realized I could check how many uber rides I've taken by counting my email receipts. I've had 117 uber rides going back to 2014. I've had two poor experiences in all of those rides, and Uber made me whole on both of them. I've been riding in cabs since 1997 and I've had shitty experiences in MOST of them. It's ridiculous how much better the service is.

That sucks. One time (out of a hundred rides) a guy dropped me off but didn't turn off the fare. I emailed uber my address and told them he kept going and they adjusted the fare to make it right.

I've never had an uber tell me their machine was broke and I had to pay cash. I've never gotten in an uber and the driver was smoking. I've never had an uber kick me out when he found out where I was going. I've never had an uber where the driver went way out of his way to run me up and I didn't get compensated. Uber is a shit company but their service is leagues ahead of taxis in every city I've used them.

They added taxis to uber in San Francisco for a while but the taxi service was so fucking awful it only lasted a month or two. Taxi culture needs to change its not just a technological issue.

But you can just revert to a previous edit in Google docs if someone makes a bad edit.

no, you leave it alone usually until they're a bit older. My first sons doctor wrenched his down early (and quite painfully for my son) and so we switched doctors.

When my first son was born 8 years ago they tried to take him away for circumcision several times, despite us telling them repeatedly we weren't having the procedure done. this was up in Seattle. My second son was just born 2 days ago, and I've been shadowing him like a hawk to make sure they don't try anything. turns out they rarely perform them at this hospital, and you have to jump through a lot of hoops to have it done. The hospital only has one doctor who does them and they try to get folks…

Downvoting someones submissions in their own subreddit just because you don't like the format seems a little crass to me. That said, it's your vote to do what you want with and I applaud your courage to at least wear your downvotes on your sleeve.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
