In my opinion, Coach Corey Wayne has some of the best content & advice in scenarios like this. Ultimately though, I think what everyone is saying is right. Just keep working on yourself & try to be better. If she comes back then she does but if not then that’s ok too. You can only control your own thoughts and actions, not the thoughts & actions of others & trying to do so will just bring pain.

Preform better is my go too for bands. I've had some of our bigger athletes (200-250 pound guys) use them & they're totally fine!

(Not Op but I’ve been a training full time, professionally for a couple of years so hope you don’t mind the input.) As many other people mentioned, the hip thrust is one of, if not the best glute exercise there is. Also, don’t neglect the glute med (outer portion). Things like clamshells & lateral band walks pay off a lot when building strong, well shaped glutes. If you’re struggling to feel you’re glutes, try something like this: put a mini band around your legs just above you’re knees, do unwe…

Not a bad idea to consult a professional. It’s amazing to me how many people take swimming lessons but don’t think they necessarily need weight lifting lessons. I love deadlifting but I’d also consider other loaded hinges like hip thrusts, glute bridges, etc. when you’re starting off or if you’re a little worried about the risk. Worst comes to worst, the trap bar deadlift is very hard to do incorrectly.

(Not Op but I’ve been a training full time, professionally for a couple of years so hope you don’t mind the input.) Ripped, lean, toned are all just words to define low body fat %, high lean tissue % (muscle mass). Focus on hitting your goal weight in protein along with heavier, full body lifts (Overhead Press, squats, deadlifts, pull ups, farmer walks, etc.) to improve your muscle mass. Focus on getting some extra walks in (or any other form of steady state cardio), drinking more water & focus …

I know I’m not OP but I’ve been training full time for about 5 years (I work with everyone from D1 Athletes to 80 year old ladies so squatting pretty fundamental to our programs.) Try digging your heals into the ground while also grabbing the ground with your toes, as you go down think about pushing your knees out to the side to help get more outer quad & glute stability. Also, if you primarily back squat, switch to either goblet squats or bear hug, sandbag squats for 2-6 weeks. Should fix your …

I’d check out Dan Johns “Mass made simple” program. Super simple, easy to follow & great results especially if you’re a busy guy who doesn’t want an over complicated program. (I know I’m not OP but I’ve been training full time for about 5 years so just wanted to offer 2 cents.)

Look man, just let it all go. You can’t control what she does, only what you do. Keep working on yourself, focus on making sure you leave the end of the relationship as physically, mentally & financially ok as possible. I know it sucks, it’s infuriating and disrespectful but at this point just think about the day it’s all over & finalized and she can be someone else’s mess. Just my 2 cents.

Currently going through this and feeling the same. I’m sorry man. The only thing that’s been getting me through it is the idea that I’m doing this for her and at the end of the day the relationship I do have with my STBXW is not the one I want for them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
