Honesy, I hold what society values in terms of "confidence, charisma and social dominance" in utter contempt. I might be autistic but I consider my values superior to those autistically fixated on (ironically) by NT drones.

She flew off to Rome two days after with her "gay" friend who was staying in her room the night after she dumped me. But you know what? She can keep her shitty pampered holiday trips while I actually do things of substance.

Yeah it's complete shite. My ex dumped me unceremoniously over WhatsApp. At the start of the relationship she said I was different to all her previous exes as I treated her well and listened to her. Her reason for breaking up was that I didn't listen to her - ummmm I listened to her for a full hour just before she broke up by hitting me and shoving me out the door - she described how she blew up at two coworkers, one of whom said she was rude and aggressive. Less than a month prior to the breaku…

Sounds like my ex who I've diagnosed with emotional dysregulation because she matched all the criteria. I would think couples' therapy (for her) and CBT would reign in those outbursts. Sorry to hear what you're going through, it's like walking on eggshells.

Well she ruined our Prague trip by losing her temper repeatedly and blaming me for everything, when we were in the UK she got angry at me for the restaurants being closed early even though I had no control over that. It was like walking a tightrope. Oh yeah she thumped me on the leg after trying to fix her watch, just before the breakup. She was also going to Rome with a gay dude the day after she dumped me. She talked about marriage and kids with me, was affectionate but could alternate with be…

Makes sense, my ex dumped me by WhatsApp, the night before she was talking about travel plans with me, she lost her temper (self-admitted anger management problem), shoved me out the door and down the stairs when she flared up and then went silent until I asked her what the story was. Still have dreams about her and what could have been.

That's a system which masquerades as "real" and a certain number of people buy into. Reality is multifaceted and not reducible to a single human, historically contingent phenomenon, known as capitalism. Again I'd ask myself why I'd spend any time with someone shallow and vapid enough that they view others in terms of how they match against a checklist of criteria (and who makes them arbiters of someone's worth anyway?) Do they represent everyone or constitute "reality"? That would be ridiculous …

This sub is pretty toxic, relationships are treated as transactional between commodities rather than people with hopes, good and bad qualities etc. Hell, I read multiple ppl saying people at 40 or over are ugly. The place is loaded with passive aggressive judgement and a distinct lack of empathy. It's very American centric in that way of treating relationships like a job interview for an executive position in a FAANG company. There's nothing wrong with gaming, in fact it's a better use of time t…

I can understand where you're coming from, for example I did a running streak of 37 runs but quit because the challenge became meaningless after 20; I knew I could run indefinitely so it became pointless. On the other hand it seems like you might be suffering from depression. I would suggest getting professional help. I would posit that a lack of community could be partly responsible. Social atomisation isn't good for mental health and makes things seem futile. For example, I've had to work hard…
