True. So true. But I remember thinking for years “I’ve never heard of betrayal like this. This is unheard of. Even in books or movies, this is unique in human experience.” It wasn’t. It is the story old as time. Just saying, it is part of the process.

In my relationship, I made a similar bargain. 15 years past the incidents we still live upstairs/downstairs. Last kid is out in 3 years. We will divorce then. I have always held out hope things would change, but they haven’t. If I had known it would end like this, I’m not sure i would have made this agreement. The fact that she has cancer does not affect the equitable distribution of assets and debts. Neither does his decision to leave her. She deleted the details from her post, and I honestly can’t recall it from memory. Based on the text as it stands, I assume she asked for the opinion of divorced men, and liked some answers but didn’t like others. I felt like it was important that she understand that marital debts are split. She didn’t seem to understand that, if I remember correctly.
