i think it's different for guys. your behavior is ironed out over time by society, whereas a woman with BPD is enabled and validated, and never has to accept responsibility unless they do something really, really bad (and some will still get away with it, see andrea yates). lots of men think that BPD behavior in women is acceptable because they know so many of them, sometimes even including their own mothers

yeah and we all know that the entire world was completely sick of war at that point, and the last thing american politicians, troops, and the general population wanted was a brutal war against a fully mobilized red army look at how bad the korean war was less than ten years later. that was a proxy war fought against north korean and chinese troops using soviet ww2 surplus and it was fucking awful. there is no way that a ww2 followup conflict between the US/europe and russia could have ended well…
