You don't need the draft to have a military to fight. This has been demonstrated repeatedly You're right. When people sign up or their own free will, you don't need a draft. In the case of an emergency and no one signs up, like the parent of this thread suggests, it would be easy to fall back on the draft that is already set up. Yes, I'm serious.
