2	It's a great shame American women won't help Hillary Clinton make history. Iowa females being unfairly criticised. Margaret Thatcher got to the top by rejecting feminism. She stated "Feminism had done nothing for her." The problem with Hillary is that she is probably one of the worst candidates to ever run for one of the major parties. Her lead is mostly explained by a couple of facts: she is married to an immensely popular president; she was smart to build connections and to try establish her as the only viable democratic candidate; she has name recognition. 1	Hard proof there is no wage gap? I second most comments that mentioned that unexplained does not equal discrimination. Moreover, these studies control for variables that social scientists have observed and that they have found to be associated with higher pay (time in the labor force, nature of the profession, weekly hours, union membership, education). However, there might be variables that influence pay that social scientists have not managed to observe and quantify. 1	82 percent of Americans don’t consider themselves feminists, poll shows I think one major problem with these polls is that they do not break down by "feminist type". People like Christina Hoff Sommers or Wendy Mcelroy would definitely say "yes" to the question "are you a feminist?". Also, I do believe that many (don't know how much) people who answer affirmatively to the same question do not necessarily espouse "gender feminism". 2	Why is there Women's Chess? I don't know how the first point could be moot. Let's say that out of every 10 players, 1 can reach grandmaster level (regardless of sex). Then, assume that of all people that start playing chess competitively, 90% are male and 10% are female. Also, assume that the dropouts even themselves, proportionately, across time. 12	Pay gap due to women's choices, not gender bias I have tried to argue that with feminists in the past, but it is futile. Patriarchal "theory" is a one-fits-all explanation. If we point that it is not gender market discrimination, they will say that patriarchy discriminates against women by telling them to quit work to take care of the kids; or that STEM departments are a cesspool of misoginy; or that teachers do not foster girls' sciences and math abilities.
