Socially incompetent when I was 14 due to isolating myself because of my gaming addiction (probably a negative loop). Liked a girl in my class, but quickly realized my social abilites wouldn't be able to get the message across to her. I began reading online on how to talk to people, and soon began some kind of self-made cognitive behaviour therapy by taking small steps and then escalating. I was completely unable to hold eye contact, or initiate contact first and further escalate a conversation …

You are misunderstanding him. Introversion != shyness. It's not the same thing. Many people confuse being an introvert with being shy. One might be an extrovert but shy, in which case there is dissonance which results in the person feeling bad about it. A "real" introvert wouldn't really mind as they simply aren't built to be social, and don't necessarily have the longing for it either. This doesn't mean that an introvert is shy, they might be the most social person with amazing social competenc…

What are you trying to achieve by posting 2 screenshots without any further information or requests? Additionally, the common consensus that I've gathered from this subreddit is that texting is only for establishing dates.

Begin with small steps. Greet the cashier before s/he greets you. It will feel strange first to be pro-active as we naturally in today's society fall into the passive/reactionary mindset. When it begins to feel natural you can add "have a nice day", it's simple but at first it will feel weird. You need to get to a point where "unnecessary" talking becomes normal. Instead of doing the least amount of needed interacting, escalate and invest until it becomes natural to talk without the situation re…

Good luck with your endeavours! I was on quite a NoFap streak as well, but recently I began trying out this technique as described in OP's thread. Going to go with it a few weeks and compare to how I felt during my streak.

There's a huge difference between abstaining completely from masturbating and doing it once every week maximum. You are on a roll, you pretty much know that you won't masturbate again in the foreseeable future. However, if you were to "break" your streak you'd probably in a few hours after the fap want to do it again. However, you already did your weeks quota and now you need to wait 7 days. Can you imagine the "frustration" and build up of sexual energy? The key is to not give in to the urge of…

Draw confidence from your abilities, use this confidence in your interactions with girls.

A lot of the links seem to be dead, or is it just server overload? None of the articles by Nick Notas seem to be working.

Now when you mention it, I notice I use the assumptions tip a lot. It's a great tool, shows you are interested and engaged. It also gives your conversational partner option to give their own opinion on your assumption. A problem I've encountered sometimes when trying to escape a lull is getting stuck in a circle, asking questions which just lead back to a lull. I find myself having to change the subject as a whole then.

Here's something I saved, found it here some time ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/tlorg/my_relationship_manifesto_what_to_do_after_you/ Might not be applicable to you, but if it is, good luck.

Pretty obvious points, a lot of relationships overall have these requirements for any kind of progression to happen.

I was under the assumption that this was in high school or some equivalent, it's not as serious then.

Nothing, just ask her out. That will show you her intent. Don't read into it too much.

I'm 18, I had braces for 4 years. That's pretty long compared to the average time. Just be yourself dude, embrace the braces and make them a part of your humor.

A few pieces of advice that I've learned: Open with a greeting and a personal remark about her. Adapt to the length of messages, if she goes for shorter texts, don't go all out and write a novel. Don't answer her immediately if she took some time answering your text. It will signal that you are sitting by waiting doing nothing. Adapt yourself to emoticon usage, if she goes with many, do fewer but use them. If she does them rarely, do it even less. If she doesn't do them, don't do them. Don't apo…

Begin with a standard greeting while at the same time remarking something about her to start of the text on a personal level. Her feeling some sort of personal connection to your text increases the chances of her responding. If you met before in person you should mention something you noticed about her, be playful. From there lead the conversation by asking questions which build on her responses. If you she responds with something you can't build on or she asks you a question that doesn't build,…

Exercise your texting abilities on social apps. Worked for me, I got Yellow and just began chatting away learning from my mistakes.

Do you have a problem if the counter part does drink? If not, you can still go to bars etc. and not drink yourself. Otherwise, like the other guy said.

People like to think they make the choices. If you set a person up in a situation where they can choose comfortably to commit or not, then they will feel like they are in charge.
