She also admits that she's surrounded by models and actors all day, which probably severely skews her idea of what the "average" guy looks like. Think about what ugly is on TV, and then what ugly is at your local Walmart.

I was lonely, and had very little friends. The friends I did have were not quality ones. That's not really fair. Midgets can make really good friends.

He did imply that it could happen to somebody, though, when it really can't. That was krackato's point.

Also, you know what they used to call it before "Negging"? They used to call it "giving a girl a hard time because she's a giant freaking dork." Hang out on /r/OkCupid for a while; they call every clumsy tease a "neg," but when people do it right, they keep their damn mouths shut because it's just a natural thing to do. The only reason anyone points out "negs" is that they're hypersensitive to pickup, for whatever reason.

Just fucking do it and quit being a whiny bitch who blames your "alpha female" family. Sorry man, but that's a pathetic freaking excuse. We're all victims of our circumstances; what matters is how you rise above them.

Any time someone on 2X gets a backhanded "compliment" from a male, or even is downright insulted, someone always suggests it's negging. Ultimately they have no clue what pickup actually is beyond shit they learned on VH1 and from internet idiots, and you'll get downvoted there for trying to reasonably explain it to them. They're convinced it's treating women as a puzzle you unlock to get sex out of, and it's not self improvement at all (and if it is, you should "be yourself" and not ever seek to…

There have also been studies showing that women's attractiveness rating of men differs wildly when viewing a static picture versus a video or seeing the man in person (as opposed to even how much men's ratings of women differ).

If we're looking at it quasi-scientifically, I'd rather see pickup done by an average-looking or ugly dude than a guy who looks like he just walked off a J. Crew photo shoot.

This is, hands down, the biggest misconception women (and everyone else not actively involved in the community) has: that pickup techniques and "tricks" are meant to manipulate women. That manipulation is what "pickup" is all about. I think it's funny that I hear negging talked about in /r/TwoXChromosomes and /r/OkCupid waaay more than I see it talked about in /r/seduction. It's simply not something I've seen discussed even outside of reddit's own seduction community, except by non-PUAs getting …

No advice to give, just solidarity. I don't have a "habit" of smiling because I conditioned myself to hold back smiles as a kid since my teeth have been pretty crooked all my life. My parents tried to get me orthodontic work, but never really had the money. I've been smiling more recently, but I'm still conscious of the fact that it doesn't look as good as a normal smile.

I was out with a couple of friends last night and one of their sisters tagged along. We ended up playing darts and my turn ended up right before her's (thus I handed her the darts every turn). She loved it when I went "Damn, I suck at darts [I do]...good thing I'm ruggedly good looking [I'm not, but I said it with a quick smile and a wink]" Highlight of the evening, though, was watching this middle aged guido guy pirouette to Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know."

The ideal man for every woman? Hell, chances are if a girl is a hardcore Christian and can't get enough Jersey Shore, I'm not the ideal man for her. But that's fine, doesn't affect me as a person because I'm still awesome.

Ever seen the women over at /r/TwoXChromosomes talk about pickup artists and their experiences with them? It's all stories about guys poorly using canned openers and generally acting like scumbags. Why? Because game is like toupees. When it's good, you don't even know it's there. It's only when it's bad do people notice it. Hence, women think that all pickup artists are scumbags who "peacock" and over-neg because the losers who watched one Youtube video or who got the wrong idea from that pickup…

"itis" is a suffix used to denote a pathological issue. The actual, technical details are not important, but keep this in mind: "itis" means something bad. Not to be pedantic, but -itis denotes some type of inflammation. Hepatitis, for example, is inflammation of the liver.

Lots of PUA bashing whenever the subject comes up over there. And of course, it's usually these women who've had "first hand experiences" with "PUAs" that turn out to have been some wannabe who watched a few Youtube videos then decided to go out and neg every girl he saw for no reason. They never stop to think that the guy who was charming and funny and basically swept them off their feet could possibly be a PUA. But on the whole, I don't see a lot of male bashing beyond the standard sort of bit…

I mean it in a, "Oh, I thought he was interested in me, but his actions indicate otherwise. I'd better not get my hopes up," way. This is your problem, not the guy's. You know how you know a guy's interested? Because he's going on a date with you. Because he's making moves on you or responding positively when you make moves on him. Not paying for your meal just means that he thinks he should pay for his food/drinks and you should pay for yours. This is a stupid, silly attitude to have.
/r/seduction30/04/12 03:47 AM
1

So he's still a new guy to you, and it's still triggering jealousy and frustration, even though you're at least implying that you've moved on. My best life tip: the absolute best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. Better yet: everyone else. I'm not saying you should use them to get over this girl, but an abundance mentality is what cures oneitis, and you're not going to get that by simply moving on from this girl (or worse, distancing yourself in a mere attempt to attract her)…

/r/seduction24/04/12 04:56 AM

Too true. He hasn't really decided get over her, but rather basically got frustrated over this new guy and decided to take a new tack. Speaking from experience of way back when, though, when you distance yourself to try to win them, often times you'll get over them all the same. It's just that there's no attitude change here that's going to help with the next oneitis.

When I hear it in my head, it's Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. No particular scene, just his general playfulness combined with confidence. Like you're interested in why they think what they think, but you're confident enough in yourself that it ultimately doesn't matter.

Something like this, as you're dangerously close to the friendzone. You need to let her know that you're interested in her sexually as well, because you're creeping into the territory of "her guy best friend," who I can almost guarantee you is a friendzoned AFC.
/r/seduction25/03/12 12:18 PM
5

Some women won't want to get physical with you but at least you KNOW that you weren't placed in the friend zone by being too afraid to act on your intentions. Exactly. If you're not physical, the only point where you'll get rejected (assuming you're an AFC) is when you hit that breaking point and "confess" your feelings. Then the vast majority of the time it's way too late and you're putting the girl in a massively awkward situation.

They're so comfortable holding it in the first place, they don't even realize you've both been staring at each other for like 10 seconds. So here's a weird question: I have this female friend at work, used to be interested in her but not really any longer (she's an 8 or so but we're just friends). She's still not over her ex boyfriend, who she broke up with about eight or nine months ago. I think that's longer than their actual relationship, if I'm remembering correctly. We already know how to fail, we don't need further practice. I disagree. A good portion of guys who get into pickup, especially the ones trolling the internet for ideas, don't even know how to fail because they're so paralyzed with approach anxiety. If they go out and try to fail, deliberately or otherwise, that's actually going to be a huge step in the right direction because it will show them that nothing bad actually happens when you fail. And yet, time after time, sedditors talked about their plans to do the exact same stunts, and reported they did so, with the inevitable disastrous results. What "disastrous results?" What's the worst that's going to happen if you go up to a girl and say some dumbass wrestling catchphrase? She'll giggle at your stupidity and walk away. Not sure what the problem is. They're funny, and they mostly promote just getting out there and being confident. They're less about "boil[ing] dating down into a canny, near-scientific formula" than most other famous PUAs that I've seen. My local Walmart has the normal white and black trash, but it's also frequented by hot college girls from the colleges nearby. One is an engineering school where most of the guys are so awkward that they never really approach girls, and the other is an all-girls school.

that can easily be misinterpreted with lying, manipulation, and solely trying to get into a chick's panties. Which is actually good for people who are already into pickup, because that shit ultimately doesn't work and isn't what real pickup artists do anyway. It's like how Hitch was about dating coaching, but ended up as a regular ol' romcom. No doubt Hollywood will butcher The Game similarly.

That guy is still a pretty big chump even after Will Smith's coaching, so it may have been necessary. And he was looking for a relationship, not just sex. Honestly, the better scene from this movie is when Hitch is running some game on the main chick. Fucking stupid ending though, like all romcoms.

If you don't know what to do with your hands, either hook your thumbs into your front pockets (like a cowboy) or back pockets (my preference). This keeps your hands occupied instead of moving uncomfortably at the side. More open (and therefore dominant) body language is to keep your thumbs visible.

Improv sounds like it'd be good for this: there's a warmup game where you basically have to act out scenes without disagreeing with anything the other person says. It sounds like the complete opposite of frame control, but it's really weight training for frame control- you get to try to control the frame with as much resistance as possible, all the while working cooperatively with the other actor(s) to create a funny scene.

The jist of my opinion on this is best captured by something that Eugene V. Debs said: "I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out. You must use your heads as well as your hands, and get yourself out of your present condition..." If chasing a single woman leads you into improving yourself, then losing that woman (or never getting her to begin with) can lead you out of it. I mean, improving yourself for her is preferable to do…

Blegh.(They're yellowish because for a while I had the attitude that since they weren't straight, there was no sense in keeping them clean either. Idiotic, I know) Anyway, I have gotten less self conscious about smiling in public. It honestly looks a lot weirder and less attractive if you hold back smiling. For now, I just make sure I take care of them in the knowledge that once I have money, I'll get them straightened out.

Did I say it was a bad thing? I'm simply warning daevud that this is the path he's very likely going down. It may not be a path he wants to go down. It's probably not even the path he wants to go down if he wants a relationship: very often the "boyfriend track" will inadvertently kill attraction and thus any chance at an actual healthy relationship developing. Random question, did you reply to Spiro_Agnew's now-deleted comment in this submission?

Also we've been texting none stop for a week, mostly benign texts. This combined with the fact that she's having her friends tag along on your non-date (it's not a date with more than two people) makes me think you're doing a great job of killing attraction. At best you're being railroaded to Boyfriend Town, where she'll take it nice and slow (no sex!) and make sure her friends approve of you before she carries on. seeing a screening of some documentary Also, just to ram home how much of a non-d…

How do you say that without sounding like a complete dick? I've never used this line, but I can imagine a playful tone and smile that would work perfectly with it. If you can't, just practice around with it in the mirror until you've got it down, then go field test it.

Mistake 1: My heart rate was really high, and that made me nervous as fuck. Mistake 2: Not in control. Because my heart was beating so hard and looked as if it would explode any minute, I wasn't really in the "present." and the usual "everyone lived happily ever after." This is how it ends. It seems like everyone here likes to hold up this movie as some sort of anti-oneitis film, but in the end, the movie outright says what the message it wanted to get across was- when Summer and Tom are on the bench at the end of the movie, she says "You were right, just not about me," talking about Tom's oneitis. Then the very next scene strongly implies that Autumn is that "one" for Tom.

I see it this way: often the best way to get what you want is to not obsess over it. I would almost say to not care, but that doesn't quite capture what I'm saying. You have to care if you want it in the first place, but the trick is in not caring so much that you push yourself too hard (and thus fail anyway) or come off to others as desperate. Applied to seduction, if you're obviously trying too hard to get a girl (let's say buying a shit ton of drinks, complimenting her excessively and often, …

I don't like when people try to use introversion as an excuse to be a social recluse. The real difference between introversion and extraversion is that social interaction tends to 'drain' you when you're an introvert, whereas it 'energizes' you when you're an introvert. That doesn't mean that introverts are necessarily awkward or even shy.
