Well, what percentage of women have been prostitutes? Surely a fraction of a percent. As such, it would only take a rather small percentage of men seeking their services to keep the business of prostitution going. Again, with no real data gathered on this matter, I'd rather not assume the worst by making some wild accusation that a very sizeable percentage of men throughout human civilization have sought the services of prostitutes. Most especially because when I was researching celibacy rates i…

Exactly what portion of men were using brothels and having mistresses? Do we even know? Do we have the data on this? If it was only a tiny percent of men doing these things (perhaps even less than 1% of men), then your point isn't particularly relevant. If we do not have the data on such activity (such as exactly what percentage of men were using brothels), we shouldn't assume the worst by thinking that a sizeable portion of men were taking part in such activity.

maybe we should try to get chad to not use women When chastity and monogamy was practiced for most of human civilization, this used to be the case. In previous generations when sex was saved for marriage, even Chad had to get married in order to have sex. If all women were practicing chastity, then Chad had no option except to get married in order to have sex. It's really only in recent history that Chad is able to sleep with hundreds of women thanks to the acceptance of hook-ups and promiscuity…

I am going to outline the scenario that both the man and the woman are Christians and that they are practicing chastity: If a woman chooses to remain a virgin, it's likely that she values chastity. And because of this, it's also fairly likely that she has conservative traditional morals and values - and most likely she is a Christian. If she finds a virgin man (option 2) who is a Christian and who has the same morals and values as she does, who practices chastity as she does, then it's a no-brai…

what is the issue with these people just existing ? The issue is this: there is a roughly 50/50 split between males and females in the population. Let's say that about 20% of the male population is completely undateable for one reason or another. This means that at most, only 80% of women will be able to find a romantic partner. 20% of women will either have to remain single or "settle" for those undateable men. The more and more individuals who are undateable exist, the fewer and fewer decent r…

it would be really fuckin weird if a girl constantly went on rants stating short men deserve nothing and are the scum of the earth. Oh, believe me. There really are some women who do this and worse.

More prolific in men's spaces? Sure. But in the case of women complaining about men who don't meet their standards, society is on their side; the mainstream is on their side. Like in the case of "women mad at broke men" that was mentioned in the previous comment, you have mainstream news outlets siding with women on this issue: https://nypost.com/2019/09/06/broke-men-are-hurting-american-womens-marriage-prospects/ Mind you, the New York Post gets 80 million unique monthly visitors, so this shoul…

What am I to make sense of all this random data? You are spewing out a bunch of statistics unrelated to the point I was making. What exactly is the argument you're trying to make in response to my comment?

Researches show that even in 1950's a lot women married as non virgin Really? Because the statistics I've seen on this showed how in the first half of the 20th century, about 70-80% of people waited until marriage. In any case, you're missing this crucial detail about such statistics of premarital sex in past generations: in many (if not most) of the cases where someone had sex before marriage, it was often with the very same person that they would soon marry. This is very different from today w…

Just look at the data from Tinder. The average woman narrows her matches down to the 5% of men she finds the most attractive (based off of the photos she sees). And the analytical data from Tinder proves that women actually are having plenty of hook-ups with these guys in the top 5%. And so it's clear that women aren't having any trouble hooking-up with such men. The reason why this is possible is because many, if not most, guys will happily hook-up with an average-looking woman - and that even …

I know it's an exception, but I just wanted to mention it because it was a rather funny story and because it shows how even when someone is homeless, such base human desires are still there. Was he successful? Apparently, to some degree, he was. This homeless guy had developed an entire system of how to get the attention of women and speak to them 1-on-1 through social media, chiefly by sending out a bunch of friend requests and waiting on others to blindly accept such requests, and then using t…

Most homeless men do not have access to Internet and even if they did, they would prefer to spend that time meeting their most basic needs. This reminds me of a story I just heard the other day about a homeless man who would constantly use the computer at a public library every day, every week, every month. For what reason? To hook-up with women using social media. Yes, spending that time to meet their "most basic needs" indeed.

Not just romantic relationships, but our grandfathers were able to have more in terms of: land, property, a socialize circle, friends, community, and overall a more rewarding and fulfilling life. Men today are only getting a fraction of what their grandfather's had in regards to these things. Romantic relationships are just a part of it.

And we all grew up thinking everyone was kind and found out that wasn’t true as we got older I don't know about you, but I certainly was never taught to believe that everyone was kind. In fact, my parents taught me to be weary of strangers because of how there are very evil people out there. What about this topic makes men so upset compared to every other lies about the world? This is just a hunch, but perhaps it has to do with the fact that many men have the deep desire to become fathers and to…

Do you really expect the preferences of women who use Bumble to be much different than women who aren't using Bumble? There is going to be huge overlap. Again, you're trying to make it sound like only women who use online dating care about height while women who don't use online dating do not care about height at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/23 08:00 PM

It goes both ways: the fact that women still get with men under 6'0" doesn't disprove that a very large portion of women (80% of women on Bumble according to that survey) will automatically disqualify a man who is of average height or shorter. The fact that "women get with sub 6 feet men all the time" doesn't disprove that women also reject men for being under 6'0" all the time.

About 50% of existing relationships started online. What are you trying to argue, anyway? Are you trying to say that women who don't use online dating don't care about height? That only women who use online dating do? By saying "dating apps don't encompass all dating that goes on", it really seems like you're trying to argue this point.

I think the surprise comes from the fact that many men grew up being told that women only care about a man's personality/character and that women are not superficial or shallow in the slightest. The "surprising recent revelation" is that much scientific research/studies/data/surveys/experiments reveals how women care more about their partner's physical appearance than men do, shattering this whole notion that women don't care about looks; this notion that men grew up with.

Yes. This whole vilification of men (and in particular, incels) isn't something confined to forums like these, but it's something which the mainstream media takes part in quite often. In the case of incels, they really want to push this narrative that the only reason incels have little to no success with women is because incels must be horrible people (in their mind) - which is why the mainstream invents false notions such as incels having huge egos and unrealistic standards when it's actually t…

... who are betting on the demise, pain and suffering of a total stranger in the future. If your "predictors" are THAT spot on where you get to sit around and gleefully predict the demise of someone you consider promiscuous Why are you even assuming this about me? Why are you assuming that I am someone who does this? This isn't the kind of person that I am. I am not some kind of sadistic psychopath who wants people to suffer just because I disagree with their morals and values. I would gladly an…

by acting like fortune tellers ... Because they're wrong. There's no way to guarantee what someone's future is going to become. But there are predictors, no? There are research studies which reveal such predictors, no? Or are these research scientists "fortune tellers" as well? We live in reality of cause and effect. Certain behaviours will lead to certain outcomes. We cannot simply dismiss and ignore such predictors and pretend that it doesn't matter by pointing out the exceptions to the rule.

You are reducing this whole issue into being about the mere amount of sex that a woman has. You are trying to equate having promiscuous sex with having sex inside of a committed relationship; you are essentially saying that they are the same thing. The issue isn't the amount of sex that a woman has, no, the issue has to do with one's morals, values, and character. Men are looking for a woman who would be a good marriage partner and a mother to one's children; a woman with strong morals and value…

Yes, research studies done on incels actually shows that they have lower standards in dating (as well as having lower self-esteem) than the average person does. https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/darwin-does-dating/202304/inside-the-mating-psychology-of-involuntary-celibates "Compared to non-incel single men, they have a lower self-perceived mate value and lower mate standards." On the point of paying for the date, the issue here is that far too many women use men as "foodie calls": in surveys, up to 30% of women admit to using men for "foodie calls". Since it's quite likely for men to be taken advantage of in this manner, it's understandable why many men are reluctant to pay for the first date. Otherwise, yes, guys should definitely be traditional themselves if they want traditional women.

You seem to be conflating being redpilled with possessing "alpha" behaviour. If we're going strictly by the original meaning behind the red pill metaphor (the Matrix metaphor), being redpilled simply means being made aware of the truth of reality - in particular, of the truth behind dating/relationships/mating dynamics/mate selection/etc. Typically, this is done by becoming aware of scientific research studies, data, experiments, surveys, and other such evidence which allows one to understand th…

This extremely skewed gender ratio was something that was very true in the early days of online dating but not so much today. Once online dating became normalized in society, far more women started using it. On quite a few of the most popular online dating apps today, the gender ratio is often around 60:40 (male:female) or even somewhere closer to 50:50 on some apps.

If online dating won’t work for you then don’t use that method ... Don’t compete with Chad in Chad’s home playing field. In all likelihood, those women you ask out in person will still be using online dating themselves, and so even if you ask women out in person, you are still competing with Chad. When you ask out a woman in person, she will be comparing you to the four other guys she is currently having conversations with in online dating. When I began taking classes at a university in a city o…

It's pretty close to 50% of existing relationships that began online, and I am pretty sure that if you were to narrow it down to relationships that began in the last few years, it would be over 50% of relationships. In any case, it still shows that the dynamics of online dating play a huge role in dating and relationships today. It's not something we can brush aside and say, "Online dating doesn't count because it's not real life".

If you can’t show your personality you are not meeting the opposite sex and socializing with them. Most relationships start online these days. And so, unfortunately, the dynamics of online dating matter a lot when it comes to dating and relationships. This means that if a man doesn't meet the minimum requirements that a woman has, he doesn't even have a chance with her - even if he's absolutely amazing in every other way but fails to tick one box. For instance, it doesn't matter how amazing a ma…

... the reason why you struggle at dating is because you’re bitter, you do next to nothing to improve your individual standing or social skills, you do next to nothing to understand your disability and how to work around it, and quite frankly, you’re unpleasant. It isn’t because you’re ND. This whole post really just comes off as thinly veiled hatred against people who are neurodivergent. Still can meet women that way. That’s how I connected with my husband 14 years ago. Did you meet him using eHarmony or something? Online dating has completely changed since the advent of Tinder in 2012. The dynamics of online dating are completely different from what they were 14 years ago. Chiefly, the dynamics of online dating have become far more superficial and shallow, where things like physical appearance matter more than ever before.

Many men (if not most) take whatever opportunity presents itself, whether that's for a first date or some one-night-stand. Due to their willingness to take whatever they can get, even average guys will have decent "success" in dating/relationships/having sex, depending on how you define "success".

These two things are not equivalent. Wanting a partner who is a healthy weight is not the same as wanting a partner who has a very specific, superficial physical trait (whether that be height, blue eyes, blonde hair, etc.). It's a perfectly reasonable desire (and one that is quite wise) to want a partner who takes care of their body; who eats healthy and exercises.

Yes, I see this a lot: some 5'5" guy will say something about how women keep rejecting him for his height, and then another person will respond: "Just focus on the women who don't care about height and you'll be fine!" Well, great, that eliminates 85% of women in the dating pool. If your height makes it so that you face 10x more rejection than others do, then this also reduces the probability of you finding a romantic partner overall.

Yes, of course: everyone is allowed to have preferences. But there are consequences to having preferences which are too unrealistic. For instance, if women as a whole refuse to date men who are shorter than 6'0", this means that 85% of women will never find a partner and will never get married. This, of course, is because only 15% of women (at most) can marry men who are 6'0" or taller (who make up 15% of the male population). The consequence of having too unrealistic of standards/preferences is…

I have personally known women who were homeless, drug-addicted, bipolar, meth addicts who slept in homeless shelters - and yet these women still had boyfriends. And these boyfriends were perfectly average people (having a job, living at their own apartment, etc.). But do you think that this scenario could happen if the genders were reversed? Not a chance.

Perhaps we should contact the researchers involved in this study and put forward our questions. Perhaps we should ask for a follow-up study that clarifies what's really going on with this data.

But why is that most Tinder users haven't met up in person? Is it because they weren't actually serious about using Tinder in the first place and simply sign-up out of curiosity? Or is it because women are signing-up for validation and are not actually looking for a relationship or hook-ups? Well, surveys show that 60% of users are already in relationships: Many on dating apps are already in relationships or aren't seeking actual dates, new study finds. Nearly two-thirds of Tinder users surveyed…

Well, my female colleagues at university would often talk amongst themselves before class about male celebrities they found hot, describing amongst themselves what made those celebrities hot. So if you want to find out what women find attractive in men, perhaps look at the kind of celebrities they ogle at.

A lot of men are willing to take whatever opportunity presents itself, even if that's a one-night-stand or some casual fling with a woman whom they find rather unattractive. Because many men will take whatever opportunity they are given (no matter how unattractive), this prevents a lot of men from dying as "kissless virgins", as you put it.

The data from Tinder shows that the average woman narrows down her matches to the 5% of men she finds most attractive. And the analytic data (using A.I. algorithms to analyze whenever a hook-up occurs) shows that the average woman actually is hooking-up with these 5% of men who are most attractive to her.

Well, we know from the data from Tinder that the average woman narrows down her matches to just 5% of men (the 5% she finds the most attractive). And the analytic data reveals that these women actually are having hook-ups with these guys in the 5%. That is, the average woman really is able to have hook-ups with such very attractive men.

I mean, wouldn't that just make sense? The people who care about the number the most will have difficulty getting into a relationship due to how society has normalized hook-ups; they will find it difficult finding someone who has a low number. Hence, making the people who care the most about the number into the ones who are getting no sex, like you said.
