Imo the "left" in america is extremely toxic and everything but effective. I mean its been decades left has done anything really in the US. Its drowned in so many "not like the other guys/girls" who are trying to always one up eachother and if you disagree on one thing but in general support the means of production be owned by the workers for example, you are not left. It online lefteing circles in the US is very toxic and puritanical. I dont have any if that in real life in my country. Socialis…

The message is on point like always. But I do think for outreach to new people the Greta example is a bad one. Or at least to be the major focus example. Cause thus is an example where most people loved it cause an asshole got some clapback. You could use it after you make your point with other example as " yes even this is bodyshaming and thats bad"

Like SusEgg says. You dont have to chamge your whole world into being an "ally". Just be a friend to your friends and try to see other perspectives. All my girl-friends IRL are like that and they are awesome

I think female support is essential.

In america "the left" has also devolved into being a team. And not in a good way. In my country I can heavily disagree with something other "lefties" or socialists generally agree with. And almost nobody will accuse me of not being left or suddenly I cant be a socialist anymore. The ones that do accuse me in my country are terminally online twitter leftists that only watch american opinions.

Wait that was used as a good example?? She just blames it on a different scapegoat. Her theory could maybe make sense America. But what about the rest of the world? Hell even just the rest of the "western world". What a dumb example if that was "waking up to mens issues"

In the UK they already "implied" (they made it law) that a men cannot be raped by a woman. I dont wanna look up my own countries specific rules about that (netherlands) cause im too tired of it.

Just read it. Wtf nowadays you just need to stand there and accept being harassed if people are under 18. Not so long ago I was under 18 and we are not innocent dumb creatures. But indeed the correct and best move was staff handle it.

Dunno. Maybe unpopulair opinion but I find it too harsh a penality even if he did shove (not because he is a WK cyclist dont care about that sport). 1500 and 3 year ban? Cause two teenagers where harassing him until 00.00.

I got another one for you. A dutch WK cyclist was held in jail the night beforr his big race in Australia. Why? Because in his hotel he went to bed at 21.00, two girls 13 and 14 where running through the halls bonking on the doors and yelling. At 00.00 he came out at his side of the story: i yelled at thrm and told very angrily they needed to stop, i have no doubt they became afraid of my tone, that was the intention. The two girls reported to hotel staff he assaulted them that he pushed the gir…

If the child is not yours youre off the hook. But you would need to prove that.

It seems we do, unless you are married. So no 1 month girlfriend trappings. Its also not enough if you live together.

I have read the threads and I now know what you peeps mean and I agree. And I think I actually do. I think I can sign my rights away if I dont want the child. Hold on let me check. Edit: so I checked, in the Netherlands if you dont recognize the child you dont have to pay childsupport. You do if you were married. So euh fair I guess?

I just want to say I think you are great to be vulnerable and ask something like this to us. So you already have a leg up im co.parison to most people, cause you selfreflect.

I believe it is. Just lot of people also venting here and thats okay. And you pointing it out is also good. Obviously these kind if groups will always attract some of those people, but that us good because we are here to be reasonable and sometimes that is infectious.

In my opinion you should do what I said. That doesnt make you a bad person to woman or people in general. It makes clear you are not nice because you are weak, you are nice because you can and want to be nice. When I gave this advice to male and female friends (yes women experience sometimes shit like that too) I started calling it tough love. Its healthy and good to be harsh to people sometimes, especially if you care about them. You dont give a kid that is throwing a tantrum everything it want…

You should just do that because you want to do that. I left a diff comment how you can react if they react with disrespect, but I adhere alot to the stoic philosophy of being a decent person to other people for yourself. Fuck them what they would think or react. Ironically this could make you seem traditional masculine again and so the merry-go-round continues.

To talk in reddit terms: its like sometimes you are in a thread, and you know you will be downvoted to oblivion, but you also know you have to make that counter argument. Just accept sometimes you will heavily shitted on for saying the right thing.

Risky advice, maybe shittyLifeProTip: sometimes in such an occasion its ok to just sternly say they are being a bitch. Dont say it with emotion, just very dry matter of factly. It shows many things in such a situation. That you are not afraid of their reaction. That you are not afraid of the language.you cab sometimes use. That you wont tolerate how they treated you. And that your friendlyness and compassion that you listen to them is a PRIVILEDGE you gave them and can be revoked at any time. Es…

That.. That rabbit hole was wild. Not the two good threads but some of the reactions I found about it. I saw a collide of a whole lot of different "communities" learned and saw a lot of new acronyms and nicknames/slurs and saw most of all alot of hurt and panic the same you would see in an incel group.

The most quick answer I can give is that humans, all of them on the whole spectrum, are fucking annoying hypocrites. If you also were looking advice in this comment: really stop giving a shit what generally people think of you. Be selfaware of yourself, think critically and if someone accuses you of something, think for yourself (preferably somewhere alone and calm) if they are right or fair in what they say. If they are, be aware and adjust, if they are not call them out or feel comfortable ign…
