3	Finland still not conscripting females. Ridiculous? Yes. I'd say that the state of Finland is not particularly restrictive or apply it's power to everyday life in any, let's say, unfair manner. Views may differ, especially around the conscription, and one can always do better, but generally, it's pretty good in here. That, however is not the case east of us. I just personally see it as something that's required as a deterrent so we can keep the good things as they are, especially seeing Russia's recent and rather aggressive foreign policy. They might not like it, and might not volunteer if it was an option, but not too many are strictly against it. It's just national security. And as long as we don't join a military alliance, such as NATO, it's not something a country of 5 million with limited budget can replace with a professional army. If yes, you're beyond saving. If not, we can't afford to check through all suitable people to see if a small fraction of the women might fit into service. That is not the attitude we have around here.
