Because we don't live in a patriarchy. We live in an oligarchy. Anyone who lazily regurgitates "the patriarchy" as an answer to any social question is an ignorant fool.

Bad take. You're presuming that any given victim is a genuine victim of a crime. But that's not a given. There is always time and space for discussion and the sober interrogation of claims. The taboo around discussion and questioning of any alleged victim's claims actually harms real victims.

Hidden camera, hidden audio recording. For your own safety and legal recourse if necessary. They know it's a game. You need to start playing, or you're the football.

Sure, but "reputable" employers in the western world are more likely to take the side of female colleagues during a dispute these days, as they can feel the lawsuits coming a mile away. It's just the way it is.

If people who can't control their emotions get angry at every stupid remark that someone makes in their vicinity, they should seek mental health care. Anyone who escalates to actual physical violence because their feelies are hurty deserves the full retribution of the law. That's true if a woman decides to slap a man over some words, let alone if she decides to attempt to burn him to death. I suggest you spend some time pondering this truth.

I fear you're mistaken. I haven't said anything at all about your fear, except to note that- according to you- you overcame it, and that this led to your eventual dating success. You're apparently looking for an argument where there is none. Which is what the internet is for, i suppose. As for "narrative", how about this narrative: I dated for many years, and I'm told I'm a reasonably attractive man. For some of that time I happened to keep track of how many women I had to ask out to get a singl…

It absolutely has to do with male/female: a woman who overcomes her fear of rejection and asks out men she's attracted to is likely to experience FAR more success in her efforts than the average man would. That's just the world we live in.

In a way, this emphasises the truth of the "redpill" idea that women prefer to be pursued... mostly women do wait to be asked out by the guy. Which is why- when a woman decides to take the initiative instead- she absolutely slays 😄 Seriously, women who are finding it hard to get dates with decent men should just ask more decent men out. Problem solved

Pointing out the fact that your current contribution to the discussion is just as valuable as your previous contributions to the discussion is hardly "arguing" though, is it.

But you were never putting forward any actual arguments related to the topic. So you're really saying that nothing has changed? That being the case, you're not being honest when you claim to be "done"; as you're continuing to offer the same level of debate you always have.

Are you really done this time? I only ask because when you said you were "done" before, you were actually "done" in the same way you are "mature".

Not "done" after all? How shocking for someone with such a high degree of maturity.
/r/MensRights23/02/25 09:27 PM

And you managed to be "done" without ever properly responding to a post, or formulating a single cogent argument. Kind of impressive, in a way. Or not. Good luck getting the women's support groups to work on men's issues, haha

"mature"? Hahaha. Yes, wandering around calling people "Simpletons" when they politely point out where you're wrong is a real mark of maturity You're doing well there. You still seem confused about the fact that a support group for men is a support group for... men, and has no obligation to work with women, as the entire point of it is to offer support to... ... Men. You know, the folks who aren't women? The issues that have nothing to do with gender dynamics are a problem for campaign groups th…

Nah, I can just quote you to prove my point: "we DO need to work with women or else it’s ALWAYS going to be us vs them" - West_Inspection_4977 The fact that you think anything I've said qualifies as "red pill" is telling as to which of use is confused. There's nothing "red pill" about the idea that men's support groups don't have to work with women, any more than there's anything particularly feminist about the idea that women's groups don't have to work with men. This is simple and uncontrovers…

Oh dear, getting personal are we. Is it reasonable for someone who repeatedly posts "Men's support groups have to work with women otherwise it's us-vs-them hate!!!111" and generalizes that sex-specific spaces exist for each sex to complain about the other to call OTHERS "simpletons"? Is it reasonable for someone who says "dictatorship isn't too extreme" a way to describe the (basically unchanged) American government oligarchy to accuse OTHERS of lacking nuance? Either way, pretty childish.

The objective to setting up a men's support group is to have a space for men to support each other. The objective of a women's support group is likewise to support women. ... there is no "common objective" there, my friend. They are two entirely different goals. One supports men, one supports women. They are not obliged to work with each other, nor even obliged to be aware of each other's existence. This isn't "hate" as you seem to want to claim (I'm not sure "expedited" was the word you were lo…

Noting the institutional role of the media is hardly blaming "everything" on it, is it. For a basic grounding in media I recommend 'Manufacturing Consent' to anyone who hasn't read it... or watched the documentary movie.

"i dont remember, so i probably didnt consent" is a lot more common than middle class neoliberals wish to admit. I've heard women state this in literal, verbatim terms in my own social circle. I also recommend "Unwanted Advances" by Laura Kipnis to anyone who hasn't yet read it.

I was being a little flippant, I must admit. But I'm afraid they didn't "switch" to propaganda. The media has been the purveyor of establishment propaganda since its inception. Remember the Iraq war? Based on lies. Destruction of South Vietnam? Also. Just a couple of recent examples

Tee hee, ironic, considering Obama's only selling point was his identity-politics. He's the ur-example of a politician employing pure wokery as a campaign tactic... when it suited him to do so.

Reddit should allow any speech within the law. The law should allow any speech that isn't an immediate and specific incitement to physical violence.

It's painfully stilted and awkward. Such women are brainwashed by their middle-to-upper class thought bubble.

Look, you agree with me that "dictatorship" is an exaggeration. We've had far too much exaggeration and rhetoric for the past 30 years. Let's be accurate and sober instead. We don't need to "work with women" to create support networks by- and for- men. It's silly to label that as "us vs them". Is it "us vs them" if women start a women only support group? Or a legal firm specialising in women's healthcare litigation? Of course not. Vast majority of women aren't interested in men's issues, period.…

Wrong I'm afraid; the correct statement is that MANY women regard asking verbally for consent as a beta-male turnoff. I've dated some of them. But some, especially if you go middle-class or upwards- actually expect the constant "can i progress to the next stage of copulation at this juncture" prattling, and even engage in it themselves. I've dated some of them too.

You are coming to realise the truth: that often, the only difference between flirting and creeping is... how attractive the man is

Nah, we don't agree about a "dictatorship " taking root in the US either. That's a bizarre misunderstanding of the situation that's oddly common nowadays. The current US administration is just another standard continuation of a permanent oligarchy. Presidents are figureheads used to distract you, and are only permitted to do what the bulk of corporate wealth wants them to do. Nor do I agree with the person you originally responded to when they said that we as men have to care about and address "…

I beg to differ; I spent years as a union rep, marched for peace and universal healthcare for decades, blah blah blah. If I'm not a leftist, nobody gets to call themselves one. And I use the term "woke" all the time. It's an extremely useful shorthand for contemporary expressions of identity politics, which is and always has been the real poison afflicting the left.

OK, I'll bite. The "historical context" is always wheeled out as if it means anything whatsoever to the question of how people alive NOW (who weren't alive when sexism was institutional in the United States or the west more generally) should be treated. But it doesn't mean anything. Either being sexist is wrong, or it isn't. If it's wrong, then being sexist against men because they're men is wrong, and the fact that sexism against women was prevalent throughout human history, has zero bearing on…
