I don't see the issue here.. the bill isn't gender specific, so people who don't read it will only go by the title of this post, which indicates it's gender specific "CONSENT" MEANS FREELY GIVEN KNOWLEDGEABLE AND INFORMED AGREEMENT; SUCH AGREEMENT MUST BE OBTAINED WITHOUT THE USE OF MALICE SUCH AS FORCIBLE COMPULSION, DURESS, COERCION, DECEPTION, FRAUD, CONCEALMENT OR ARTIFICE. Not sure where this was, but in many places this wouldn't be rape, it'd just be sexual assault of a minor. Until the law is updated, that's all these cases will be. Seeing as how a lot of negativity comes with being called a rapist and not just someone who committed a sexual assault, it's obvious why one side looks to get off a bit more lightly to the other side. No clue why countries are so delayed in not updating laws, or refuse to.

I've just read the article. Could someone explain to me where the discrimination is in this? One comment here just seems to be anti-female for the sake of it. This just seems like a legal issue. The cyclist didn't have legal support and so didn't launch a counter claim. He also didn't have insurance. He even said that he really regrets not having sought legal support sooner. The sentiment on the billboard can be applied to both genders, if you only change the pronoun. So many stories I've read where women are abused, but continue the relationship because "it only happened the once, it won't happen again",only for it to continue. After wasting two years on a college course, I decided against going to Uni in favour of actually making money. The university life wasn't for me, and I'd rather put my currently low funds towards bettering myself rather than working towards a degree that holds almost no barring. I mean, it shows you know what was in a book, and maybe in some cases it's not up to date.
