Definitely grandsons. Two rowdy little boys raising hell. I can't picture it any other way.

Perfect! This is exactly my experience, and it brought me to a level of understanding about life that kids my age in my town just didn't really have. I grew up a lot less sheltered, and a lot more cautious than my friends. One day I'll raise my kids the same way. I don't think I could top the old man. He truly has a skill in being a father, and it's just because he keeps it real with his kids at every corner. Now I just need to knock out a couple of grandsons while this guy still has the energy …

I think he did fine. My dad never offered much comfort when he took me rabbit hunting for the first time. "We do it so we can eat the rabbit.", so matter-of-factly that being a young kid, I just kind of followed his lead. "Okay dad. Your reaction to circumstances makes a huge impression on my young mind. You know what you're doing. I'll take your word for it." The next time we went hunting, my dad bagged 3 morning dove. My little brother and I shot one with our BB guns for the better part of an …

Ok so what exactly are you addressing with the santaclause bit? As ambiguous as it was, your statement had to disagree with something I said, otherwise you literally put no thought into it.

I work private security now. I've had two women get hired for my overnight shift. We deal with a lot of transients at my location. I've had a screwdriver pulled on me. My boss has had a box cutter pulled on him. It can be dangerous. That being said, I've had two female security guards hired to my post. They have changed the way I perceive women in traditionally male dominated industries. I believe that while the two new girls are smaller, they handle themselves in a demeanor that asserts control…

Being a douche and being in charge are not synonymous. Some of the best leaders I had made me want them to lead. Wether they were assholes or not was irrelevant, mostly.

Thanks for drawing a line in the sand for me. I guess I stand on the Men's Rights side; as I believe in gender equality, people wearing whatever they want, etc. Having been an infantryman in OIF3 I can't agree with women in the infantry, because most women don't physically have the strength to wear 60lbs. of equipment, and pull wounded quickly to cover.

Sounds like it depends on the answer you want really. 1) work place flings generally end bad. 2) despite the fact that you guys just went through a bonding experience (a fire fight), it doesn't mean you actually have a relationship worth cultivating. I've been in firefights with guys I wouldn't even get a beer with. Didn't change who they were. Just meant we shared an experience. 3) what makes you think that if she had a similar inevitable situation with another officer, she isn't just going to …

I guess to him, it was simply out of the question. To guys like him the situation is basically "this is what I'm doing. If you're not on board then kick rocks." Epitome of alpha. You don't change for a relationship. You have a relationship because it coincides with what you want; and there is no bargain. As soon as it became not what he wanted, he got a 28 year old girlfriend and filed for divorce. I was just drawing an alternative for the reader that heard the message "if you get married, you g…

Not true. My stepdad was the epitome of alpha. Chapter President of his bike club, Special Forces, Rangers, badass, etc. He never left his ego behind him, and it kept my mom pining for him throughout their 15 or something year relationship. Just offering some perspective.

By intentionally "not impressing the females" you are in fact going to impress females. That is misleading though because in almost all circumstances you are going to have to be comfortable putting yourself out there. Trust me, as a shy 20-something guy, even the females I thought were "on the level" expected me to make the move. It's a male dominated society and that's the M.O. we've become expected to run. You really can't get around playing the game. The difference is in how you handle reject…

All of that, assuming you can take his description of the situation for his word.. I'm devils advocating here, but I don't think it's implausible to believe that he's saying all of that to cover for insecurities and confidence issues. The root of the problem is important. If he really does feel that way, then maybe he should just peruse his interests and wait to meet a girl with a lot of his same motivations.

True with my dad in 2 out of 3 of his marriages. My ex sister in law was telling some guy she met at the bar that she and my brother were split up. She stopped making the payments on my brothers bike just in time for them to repo it right after he deployed. My ex did it to me, etc. There's no doubt in my mind that there are decent women out there, but they're rare. I try really hard not to hate women, but they make it hard. My friends wife became a stripper and cheated on him during our deployme…

There's a saying: women are like monkeys. They never let go of a branch until they have a firm grasp on the next. I have seen it play out in just about every relationship I've seen go bad.

I'm new here. I'm an introvert, but being a moderately attractive, moderately in-shape, and reasonably intelligent 26 year old infantry vet of Iraq with scars leads me to act alpha, in light of moderate attention from average females. What is the Red Pill model, and what is a hamster? I took interest in this sub because of all the shit talk about it, but I see you guys arguing some deep philosophy and I realize that there is intricate thought here. It's not just a bunch of bros talking about bro…
