They define dysmorphia as depression brought about by not being allowed to transition, or being outcast by society. Being gay was listed as a mental illness in previous versions of the book. Just because they change a classification doesn't mean they're pandering. It just means they understand the subject better. If you actually gave a shit about science then you'd understand that.

Did you happen to read the fuckin' article you cited? She called 911 for over a month saying that her ex was abusing women in his home, saying she was a concerned neighbor, etc. She assumed, because she was a woman, that her calls would be taken seriously, and she was right. If she had only done it a few times, then nothing would have happened to her. But she wanted her ex to get arrested. And I can just imagine she will be given a slap on the wrist, because she's a woman.

My point is it's not realistic to expect people to check people's fucking ID cards in normal interactions. If someone looks 19, and says they're 19, then I think anybody would believe them. Take a look at this comment. Guy was in a bar that didn't allow minors, the girl lied to him about her age and got in with a fake ID, she admitted to having a fake ID and lying, and he STILL got put in jail.
