The hard part of speaking to people in groups is that you’re interrupting a conversation. You have to figure out if you’re going to wait to pop in at a moment of silence if it ever comes, or interrupt. And if you interrupt, do you address the rudeness or not? Once you get past the initial awkwardness of “hey now I’m here and I’ve stopped your conversation” are you going to ask to buy her a drink?
