I think there is a way for all new posts to be hidden until approved by moderators. If you started using that you could cut down on the premature advice people get before stats are posted. Although I am not sure if that allows the poster to update their post.

Should be... Turn those shoulds into "I am going to do this, and here is my actionable plan to do so." I have received this advice and it has helped me grow a lot as I now have goals to accomplish instead of wishes.

OYS 13 Physical: 20M 5'8 127 lbs BF ~5%. Lifts: I think that gym attendance and eating habits have improved in the last two weeks. I am on a consistent schedule so far for the gym. For eating, I am trying to eat 500 more calories or so more than I was in previous weeks. Regarding PMO, I made it a couple weeks without it, but failed a few days ago. I definitely feel a difference in mood because of that (I feel worse, and much lazier). I want to cut it out entirely but that seems much harder since…

In order to accomplish this, I will practice the Spiritual disciplines and carefully study the Word in order to be an imitator of Christ. I will gain confidence through building a solid body and frame. I will put myself in a place where the Gospel is needed (STEM field). These are necessary in order to become a positive influen…

OYS: Been 5 weeks since last OYS Physical: 20M, 5'8 125 Lbs. Biggest problem is that Gym attendance low, have only had a few workouts since Thanksgiving. Weight is probably pretty constant. Have no access to the gym until mid January, but have access to limited weights in my parents basement, which is where I am at now. - Goal: Do a 3 Arm workouts this week. Other big problem is porn use. In the past weeks I have ups and down on progress, where I sometimes go a week free, but other times it beco…

You have had zero progress on porn for months. What are you going to do this week to make some progress? Thanks for asking this. Looking back it is pretty evident that no progress has been made. This week I will work with an accountability partner on Discord, and see if I can go a week or so without porn. Its much easier to keep going. The gospel is needed in science, but in order to do that, science is needed in the church. This is a pretty interesting idea, and I can for sure see that. Curre…

OYS 9 Physical: 20 M 125 lb, 5'8'' 5% BF Lifts: SQ: 165 BP: 70 Pretty consistent at the gym. Haven't been this week though. Have been eating a lot more thank to the large amount of food I have bought the other week. I am making more and saving leftovers which has made the meal prep process significantly better than before. Making progress here. Only leave the house to go on walks occasionally, and fashion is only bad inside. Working on cleaning my face as well, using some acne lotion every night…

The progress I have made with God makes me always want to continue forward. Thats awesome dude! That's why I need a male figure to discipline me, check on me, talk and mentor me. I think your best bet here is to ask. There are a lot of men a lot wiser than I who would be open to meeting once a week to talk with you. I know I could do it, although I'm not sure I have enough experience.

Addicted to porn. Lasted 5 weeks and caved. I don't smoke not do drugs anymore. Hey dude it happens. Confess and repent, and keep moving forward. Recently made the worst sexual descion I can make and I can't believe I did it. Again, confess and repent. Try to let go of the shame if you can, because that does more harm than good. Very lonely Yeah I get that, especially when you don't socialize much outside your house. I am in the same boat. Helps to communicate with who you can though. I reach ou…

I am youth leader and elder at church, I listen to Bible and sermons to and from work pretty much daily This is great to hear! Been debating joining the local gym again, but wary considering covid-19 Depending on where you live (dense urban population etc.) you may not want to join a gym. I live on a college campus and attend their gym, and it has been surprisingly safe. Regardless, what is no excuse is getting some exercise, and there are many bodyweight fitness opportunities out there on the…

make every little thing in your life about God. This is a good word and something I forget. Especially with the covid setback, I am just a little but annoyed with how I am at this point basically the same as I was last year. You're right though. Slowly but surely I am getting there. I have gained lots of knowledge as well, though the hardware is catching up.

(about 2lbs of meat product a day) How do you manage to do this? Do you plan out meals? Bible studies are going well. I need to prep for them sooner in the week. Day of prep is "ok" but can result in pretty weak studies. How do you usually prepare for the bible studies?

OYS 7: Physical: 20M 5'8 123 lbs. 5% BF Lifts: SQ: 130, OH: 65, DL: 140, BP: 75, ROW, 80 Have not been doing too well in this category. Spent the weekend at my parents which came with less than normal eating as well as lack of gym attendance. It is so easy just to skip a meal, and it is very easy to put off going to the gym because of homework and the like. PMO was also up this week (4/7). Felt as though I made the conscious decision do act on those feelings, and didn't even bother fighting them…

OYS 7. Physical: 20M 5'8" 123 lbs Very poor week overall for physical. Eating habits worsened due to stress and some anxiety, leading to some skipping meals. As a result, I only went to the gym one time in the last week. Much of my lifestyle I am noticing is sedentary (especially with mostly online school). This has had a number of side effects, including isolation, increased PMO (4/7 days), and worse mental state. I am going to work on this by addressing these criteria that u/Praexology mention…

At the moment this is not going well, as I tend to slack off on eating when I get stressed, or based on current circumstances, more on that later. OYS 6. Previous Stats: 19 M 123 lbs, 5'8" BF: 5-10% Physical Have been going to the gym since last week now that school has started. I am still working on gaining weight. I want to work on eating properly this next week. Currently I operate on not-thinking-about-what-to-eat-until-dinnertime mentality, so I'm thinking of sitting down and figuring out a meal plan. No drugs, smoking, or alcohol. PMO'd once this week, but prayed and moved on. Don't take fashion into consideration too much since I ra…

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Keep hitting the gym and continue reading the sidebar, and take note of 210. Also No More Mr. Nice Guy takes a deep dive into many blue pill habits, so I would recommend reading that once you are done with the sidebar. OYS 5. Previous Stats: 19 M 123 lbs, 5'8" BF: Physical Went back to the gym a few weeks ago and started up Stronglifts again. However last week moved back to my parent's house, so no gym use. Next week, when school starts back up again I will be able to visit the gym. Eating habits are a little bit substandard at my parent's as I rarely take advantage of their free food, mostly because I lack the motivation to make anything. Last week had some major problems with porn and youtube binges. Also wa…

Don't worry about sin. Confess it to God, then forget about it. I like this. I really don't know what a Bible study looks like other than reading it really closely. From my experience, this is basically it. Bible studies are also done in groups. We can do some Bible studies in the Discord

Biggest key to my morning routine is throwing open the curtains and having the discipline to not get on my phone. Might help to keep your phone in a different room. This may help prevent pre-sleep surfing and using it when you get up. I’ve started reading The Practice of the Presence of God and it has been great. Conversation Two is something I should read over and over again, it’s very applicable to where I’m at now. How would you summarize conversation 2? How is it applicable to your life? Jus…

I have been seeing a steady growth in weight. Keep it up! though with other projects I'm working on, stress and anxiety are still looming over me From my experience, stress and anxiety related to school projects come from feeling as if I am falling behind on them. Sitting down, and making tangible progress on a project helps to get rid of some of that anxiety and shows you that the project may not take as much time as you thought. I like where your vision is taking you!

OYS 4. 3 here. Physical: 19M, 121 lb, 5'8" Lifts: Unknown. Exercise: Haven't been doing any home workouts for the past month or so. "Exercise" lately has been riding bike 40 mins a day, and walking for about 5 hours (job). I am working on gaining weight through eating. The purpose of dating is to find a suitable woman to make your wife so you can carry out God's mission for your life with her help. And casual dating will help in this regard as I will be learning the skills necessary while dating to find and attract a the ideal women who will help with my mission. At least, that is how I understand your point. How can you ever get good at dating if you don't practice? I guess I have this notion that with the strong frame and body, and outcome independence given…

There's nothing wrong with asking out girls and going on dates now if you see a girl that has good potential. I would also say at this point I am not sure what "good potential" looks like. Understanding red flags and vetting something I need to work on, and I think I will see it if I surround myself with others, so hopefully school will help in this regard. The main area where it may be a good idea to date or at least experiencing a lot of talking to women is if you're shy or introverted and don…

Thank you for the reply. Right now I have a Bible reading plan with my brothers, so moving forward I will be in a better place. I can definitely do more to build that "social network" at work. I have been noticing more and more that I use my introverted nature as an excuse to avoid people, which I think was mentioned in a recent post. Once school starts I am sure this process will be a lot easier with more people. Continuing to work towards a stronger body and frame (which I think can come from …

OYS 2: Actual Mission: To feel as good about myself as I can, by doing well in school, and by feeling validated by a girl who likes me a lot. More on this later. Ideal Mission: To become a disciple of Christ capable of making disciples. This involves 3 areas.
